He just beat samuel Morse by a bit further than Strong Suit.

Okay its a 4 horse race and the going is on the soft side of good, but he is superbly bred, bound to stay 1 mile+, and has just won a group 2 very very easily from the Coventry Stakes 4th.

At 25/1 with 365 (14's with the nanny) he is decent value; especially since some maiden winners are a standard 33/1 for the guineas and some much shorter than that.

But will Godolphin buy him?
Report cryoftruth • July 18, 2010 4:19 PM BST
That is the problem.

Off to Godolphin and then never heard of again.

Quite sadly this is likely.
Report Long Run's To Glory • July 18, 2010 4:22 PM BST
Even if he stays, does this trainer send many to our Guineas?
Report cryoftruth • July 18, 2010 4:31 PM BST
He doesn't get many good ones. I suppose he wouldn't be opposed to taking the english pounds back home.

Anyway his family used to be big English raiders so if he does go on and is good enough he would be a likely runnerimo.

If he doesn't end up in Dubai.
Report Tiswallaceno7 • July 18, 2010 4:49 PM BST
He would run it if its stays with him.

Problem is that they rarely do if their anyway decent.

The reason he doesn't  be seen over the sea like his father is he is given complete and utter garbage from Derrinstown for many a year. Their is no better trainer as he has proved again today and with Seeharn a few weeks back. Give him the Horse he get the results
Report Tiswallaceno7 • July 18, 2010 4:50 PM BST
The Coventry form has taken a big hit recent weeks.

Samuel Morse was thrashed today....so you can forget about all the Horses that ran in the Railway.

Ballydoyle colts look pretty awful bar Zoffany

what about master of the hounds?
Report sintonian • July 18, 2010 5:06 PM BST
more negatvies than positives to consider backing this horse for the guineas, imo.

4th time to win a maiden.

No thank you.

At least its well named
Report Bellamy Road • July 18, 2010 5:12 PM BST
i was thinking more about his form with the aforementioned
Report Tiswallaceno7 • July 18, 2010 5:15 PM BST
You could link it as such.

But their was such a huge leap forward in performance today. Samuel Morse rated 107 was thrashed....and i mean thrashed.

Maybe the ground could be used as a excuse but personally i doubt the ground has any thing to do with the result.

Dunboyne Express just moved forward by a stone minimum.

Nick Mordin said he was Top Class after its Maiden win and looks like he spot on[;)]

"We probably saw the best two year old race of the season so far when DUNBOYNE EXPRESS (37) narrowly beat MASTER OF HOUNDS (37) in a fast run seven furlong maiden at Leopardstown."
Report sintonian • July 18, 2010 5:18 PM BST
Samuel Morse regualry gets beat. The ground was soft. There was an unraced horse in the field. The trainer doesn't often bring his best horses over here in May.

He was impressive no doubt about it, but for the above reasons I couldn't back him.
Report Tiswallaceno7 • July 18, 2010 5:19 PM BST
agree i wouldnt touch it either

Never has any worth sending.

Report unclepuncle • July 18, 2010 5:27 PM BST
A very nice prospect and would be nice if they brought him over for the Dewhurst. But taking 13/2 for him to win a 4 runner race today was the bet - 25/1 for the Guineas which is 9 months away hardly screams value in comparison[;)].
Report Win only - Sp only • July 18, 2010 5:27 PM BST
i was impressed with his maiden win, and very impressed today. if obrien trained it it would be half the price
Report unclepuncle • July 18, 2010 5:30 PM BST
If O'Brien trained it he would be about 5/1Shocked

did'nt the same connections sell Kingsfort to Godolphin?
Report mythical prince • July 18, 2010 9:00 PM BST
yes they did. hopefully wiser heads will prevail and they wont make the same mistake again! no reason at all why he can't go to the very top (other than the obvious one about being turned into dogfood by godawful.)
Report Graeme83 • July 18, 2010 9:27 PM BST
Not for me. I haven't seen a guineas horse yet that i'd feel comfortable betting on at this stage.
Report carvillshill • July 18, 2010 10:24 PM BST
Looked to me that the ground had a bearing on this result- will be interested in the times compared to standard, looked soft enough...
Report Tiswallaceno7 • July 18, 2010 11:12 PM BST
Pretty sure their different owners

One is Norman Ormiston(Kingsfort and Seeharn fame)

John Connaughton is Dunboyne Express
Report Figgis • July 19, 2010 12:15 AM BST
The time was decent for the ground, as was his debut time on better ground.

Have just been using the ATR archive to watch at his races and my first impression was that he was quite small so maybe not a good one for next year.
Having been through it all I reckon the interesting horse from this formline might by Roderic O'Connor - though he isn't quoted anywhere for the 2,000 Guineas.
