But will Godolphin buy him?
By:
That is the problem.
Off to Godolphin and then never heard of again. Quite sadly this is likely. |
By:
Even if he stays, does this trainer send many to our Guineas?
By:
He doesn't get many good ones. I suppose he wouldn't be opposed to taking the english pounds back home.
Anyway his family used to be big English raiders so if he does go on and is good enough he would be a likely runnerimo. If he doesn't end up in Dubai. |
By:
He would run it if its stays with him.
Problem is that they rarely do if their anyway decent. The reason he doesn't be seen over the sea like his father is he is given complete and utter garbage from Derrinstown for many a year. Their is no better trainer as he has proved again today and with Seeharn a few weeks back. Give him the Horse he get the results |

The Coventry form has taken a big hit recent weeks.
Samuel Morse was thrashed today....so you can forget about all the Horses that ran in the Railway. Ballydoyle colts look pretty awful bar Zoffany |
By:
what about master of the hounds?
By:
more negatvies than positives to consider backing this horse for the guineas, imo.

4th time to win a maiden.
No thank you. At least its well named |
By:
i was thinking more about his form with the aforementioned
By:
You could link it as such.
But their was such a huge leap forward in performance today. Samuel Morse rated 107 was thrashed....and i mean thrashed. Maybe the ground could be used as a excuse but personally i doubt the ground has any thing to do with the result. Dunboyne Express just moved forward by a stone minimum. Nick Mordin said he was Top Class after its Maiden win and looks like he spot on[;)] |
By:
"We probably saw the best two year old race of the season so far when DUNBOYNE EXPRESS (37) narrowly beat MASTER OF HOUNDS (37) in a fast run seven furlong maiden at Leopardstown."
By:
Samuel Morse regualry gets beat. The ground was soft. There was an unraced horse in the field. The trainer doesn't often bring his best horses over here in May.
He was impressive no doubt about it, but for the above reasons I couldn't back him. |
By:
agree i wouldnt touch it either

A very nice prospect and would be nice if they brought him over for the Dewhurst. But taking 13/2 for him to win a 4 runner race today was the bet - 25/1 for the Guineas which is 9 months away hardly screams value in comparison[;)].

By:
i was impressed with his maiden win, and very impressed today. if obrien trained it it would be half the price
By:
If O'Brien trained it he would be about 5/1

anyone catch the post-race interview from trainer/jock ..
By:
Caught the jock on rte. Said very good Horse. Impressed etc etc.
Nothing are eyes couldn't tell you Next Stop the Heinz[:D] as Kevin still calls it |
By:
nice to see someone else winning a good race. as you say he just hasnt had the ammunition. it doesnt matter who you are if you havent got the good horses you cant do it. lets hope this one heraldssome more goodones for the yard.

did'nt the same connections sell Kingsfort to Godolphin?
By:
yes they did. hopefully wiser heads will prevail and they wont make the same mistake again! no reason at all why he can't go to the very top (other than the obvious one about being turned into dogfood by godawful.)
By:
Not for me. I haven't seen a guineas horse yet that i'd feel comfortable betting on at this stage.
By:
Looked to me that the ground had a bearing on this result- will be interested in the times compared to standard, looked soft enough...
By:
Pretty sure their different owners
One is Norman Ormiston(Kingsfort and Seeharn fame) John Connaughton is Dunboyne Express |
By:
The time was decent for the ground, as was his debut time on better ground.
By:
nothing wrong with this one at all . [;)]
By:
Another big boost for his debut win at Naas last night[;)]

Have just been using the ATR archive to watch at his races and my first impression was that he was quite small so maybe not a good one for next year.
Having been through it all I reckon the interesting horse from this formline might by Roderic O'Connor - though he isn't quoted anywhere for the 2,000 Guineas. |
