Only comment on this race is that West Ocean available at 17 yesterday is now 44 on here which would suggest that participation is doubtful or someone disagrees with the bookmakers price of 10/1?
Sounds crazy but I think Mister Manannan could run a race in this, should blaze a trail over 5 and could be a decent back to lay in running at minimum. Overdose still in there but changed trainer

OVERDOSE was on Tuesday ruled out of Royal Ascot, but the 'winner' of the voided Prix del'Abbaye two years ago is ready to make his comeback in France this month.
The Hungarian sprinter, nicknamed the 'Budapest Bullet', missed all last year with a foot problem, but owner Zoltan Mikoczy remains upbeat about the five-year-old.
He said: "Royal Ascot is definitely off as it would be wrong to go there without a run. Any other horse maybe, but Overdose needs two runs before a Group 1 race."

KENTUCKY DERBY-winning trainer Todd Pletcher will not be visiting Royal Ascot this year after his sprinter West Ocean was ruled out of the meeting.
The Wertheimers' four-year-old filly was entered for both the King's Stand and the Golden Jubilee, as well as the Darley July Cup.
The owners' racing manager Pierre-Yves Bureau said: "West Ocean's last work didn't satisfy Todd and you can't travel a horse all that way when she isn't 100 per cent for a Group 1 race."
Bookies appear to have factored both these absences into their prices as no changes.
There has to be doubts about Fleeting Spirit - Golden Jubilee option? Would halve in price if confirmed. StarSpangledBanner - I think this may go for Queen Anne as the silence on Rip Van Winkle is deafening! Kingsgate Native - Golden Jubilee?

Rumours that Fleeting Spirit will be going for the Golden Jubilee?

The fact that no money is lining up to back her suggests to me that there has to be some doubt. I think that the Golden Jubilee is a tough race and the King Stand is a Group 1 now so why not take the easier option?
If confirmed, I would snap the bookies hands off for 10/1 e/w as I think it could well be 3rd time lucky as Nibbledat states!

Fleeting spirit not really had excuses for defeats though. Good draws both times. That being said still a good record in the race and 10/1 is a big price.

Marchand D'or (25/1 in a place) runs in Prix Gros Jean Chantilly tomorrow - won the same race 2 years ago beating Equiano (Equiano then won King Stand stakes)
Fleeting Spirit now only 10's in a place and Nicconi 5's with 2 firms.
Next forfeit stage at 5 day entries on Weds 9th 12pm with possible supplementaries (although doubtful)

Has Fleeting Spirit had a problem or has this always been the intended starting point?
Anyone know who will ride him also? Queally back on would be fine with me.

On nicconi e/w at 5/1. Looks like I have the price at least. I wouldn't mind him just being s shade below Scenic after he won easily from stall 15. I'm on quite large and my large bets never seem to win so already getting ready for the disappointment.

Been experimenting with randomizing the size of my bets with some success! Bottom line is we're not always right either in the horses we back or in the amounts we put on, so if you have say 10 bets in a day, try randomizing the amounts and see what happens (even just as a test to start).

Cheers Trev. Think you've got the winner with them two. I've missed the price on Kingsgate though so think I'll just go e/w on the filly.
I'm not sure how good this Aussie thing is. Scenic Blast looks to be better to me but I'm no expert on their form.
Marchand D'or the only other I might be interested in, if he comes over.

Kingsgate Native will not attempt to emulate his victory in the 2008 Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot and will instead run in the King's Stand Stakes next week.
Sir Michael Stoute's sprinter looked exceptional when winning at Haydock on his seasonal reappearance and the five-year-old holds entries in both Group One sprints.
The Mujadil gelding was just touched off on his racecourse debut in the Windsor Castle Stakes three years ago and took in both the King's Stand over five furlongs and the Golden Jubilee over six a year later, winning the latter contest.
He finished only 13th in the Golden Jubilee last year on his first start for Stoute following an abortive spell at stud but has since proved all his old ability remains.
"I've got some important work to do this week with the potential Ascot runners so I've not tidied it up just yet, but the plan is to go for the King's Stand with Kingsgate on Tuesday," Stoute told At The Races.

I've taken some 20's ew Markab and I'm going to have a little bit more on today at 16's. It has a bit to find but the horse is still improving and I can see it going well. Only heavy ground would be a worry.

No surprise to see Nicconi being well backed. Won the Lightning Stakes earlier this year in Oz. The last 4 winners of that race to run in the Kings Stand were:

worry about Nicconi giving up so much ground against in form aggressive front runners.
Still like Equiano. Starspangled to grab a place. joke of ride last time like when they ran Haradusan first time out in the Lockinge.

Das, KK.Just be careful with Markab (at any price). That last run was not a race and needs to be thoroughly ignored. There is no possible way a 7-y-0 can be improving. If he beats more than 2 home here I will give up the game. A 200/1 shot with no chance save the biggest draw bias in history.

I strongly believe there's plenty of value to be had in Gold Trail at 16/1.
His overall profile is a little misleading as he's all about speed and really anything beyond the minimum trip stretches his stamina(He has won a Gp1 over 6f but he dictated a steady pace from the front and his class told against inferior opposition).
In 5½f Galaxy Stakes last year he looked sure to win before fading behind Nicconi inside the final half furlong and for good measure he repeated the trick in this years contest.
The International Spirit was a familiar story as it appeared for a moment that he had fought off Rocket Man but he faded once again inside the final furlong.
I believe the later was a noteworthy performance against dyed in the wool Group 1 international sprinters and he wasn't done for class but for stamina.
He's proven he travels well so with optimum conditions and some luck with the draw he should find this much easier against our stodgy sprinters.

Starspangledbanner being in the 5 day decs doesnt necessarily mean he is a certain runner IMO. Wouldnt be the first time that Ballydoyle have played silly buggers with their nominations. The right race for SSB has to be the Golden Jubilee. No reason why he can reverse Lightning Stakes form with Nicconi worse off at the weights.

I was basing it on this WBP, although Cannonball ran in both last year.
Stan Moore expects it to make a refreshing change for Total Gallery to be running off level weights in Tuesday's King's Stand Stakes.
Thanks to his Group One victory in the Prix de l'Abbaye last autumn, the four-year-old has been penalised in his first two starts this season, when sixth in the Palace House Stakes and fifth in the Temple Stakes.
"He'll run in the King's Stand and it will be nice for him not to have to carry a 7lb penalty this time," said Moore.
"I took him over to Richard Hannon's on Thursday morning and he did his final piece of proper work.
"He seems in great form and we're hoping for a big run. Richard Hughes is going to ride him - he's ridden him a few times before - and hopefully he'll be available for his next few races.
"We have used Johnny Murtagh but he is needed to ride Aidan O'Brien's horse (Starspangledbanner)."

OK, saw some pink on oddschecker. The GJ looks an easier race to me, I'd really fancy her for that. She's a good e/w bet whichever race she's in. Gonna wait for the final decs, don't trust anyone anymore...

the last twice nicconi been beat was 6 furlongs on heavy going. and the excuse that the horses just didnt want to pass in the storm is very plausable imo

JEREMY NOSEDA has yet to decide on which Royal Ascot sprint Fleeting Spirit will contest next week but admitted he is "90 per cent certain" it will be the Golden Jubilee.
Owned by Paul Roy and Andy Stewart, last year's Group 1 Darley July Cup winner has been placed behind Scenic Blast and Equiano in the last two runnings of the King's Stand Stakes at Ascot.
Noseda said: "I am 90 per cent certain that she will run in the Golden Jubilee but I shall be watching the weather forecast over the weekend and make a decision then."
Fleeting Spirit will be making her seasonal reappearance at Royal Ascot having not run since finishing seventh in the Breeders' Cup Sprint atSanta Anita.
Frankie Dettori, who rode the mare at the Breeders' Cup, will keep the ride if Fleeting Spirit runs in the Golden Jubilee but would be replaced by her former jockey Tom Queally in the King's Stand as Dettori is booked on Australian raider Nicconi.
"If she runs in the King's Stand she will be partnered by Tom Queally and if she goes for the Golden Jubilee Frankie Dettori will ride," Noseda said on his website.
"I am very happy with her and believe she is as close to her peak as she was for Royal Ascot last year."

Maybe I've had my eye off the ball a bit recently but that comes as a big surprise to me. For some reason I always assumed it would be the Kings Stand.

With SSB and FS coming out you should be feeling confident. Not got a strong view on the race with the defection of Fleeting Spirit. Liked Total Gallery earlier in the year but was disappointed with his last run. A back to form Amour Propre could be interesting and I think I might fire a bit of each way shrapnel his way, will sleep on that for a bit tho.

Gold Trail for me now that Fleeting Spirit has defected.
Probably a career best lto when 4th to Green Birdie and Rocket Man over 6f in the KrisFlyer in Kranji. Led at the 5f marker too. Was ahead against Nicconi at the 5f mark too in the Galaxy Stakes last year.
Nicconi will probably win but one is 3/1 and the other 12.
