Sounds crazy but I think Mister Manannan could run a race in this, should blaze a trail over 5 and could be a decent back to lay in running at minimum.
Overdose still in there but changed trainer ![]() |

Nicconi & Markab for me.

Overdose OVERDOSE was on Tuesday ruled out of Royal Ascot, but the 'winner' of the voided Prix del'Abbaye two years ago is ready to make his comeback in France this month. The Hungarian sprinter, nicknamed the 'Budapest Bullet', missed all last year with a foot problem, but owner Zoltan Mikoczy remains upbeat about the five-year-old. He said: "Royal Ascot is definitely off as it would be wrong to go there without a run. Any other horse maybe, but Overdose needs two runs before a Group 1 race." West Ocean KENTUCKY DERBY-winning trainer Todd Pletcher will not be visiting Royal Ascot this year after his sprinter West Ocean was ruled out of the meeting. The Wertheimers' four-year-old filly was entered for both the King's Stand and the Golden Jubilee, as well as the Darley July Cup. The owners' racing manager Pierre-Yves Bureau said: "West Ocean's last work didn't satisfy Todd and you can't travel a horse all that way when she isn't 100 per cent for a Group 1 race." Bookies appear to have factored both these absences into their prices as no changes. There has to be doubts about Fleeting Spirit - Golden Jubilee option? Would halve in price if confirmed. StarSpangledBanner - I think this may go for Queen Anne as the silence on Rip Van Winkle is deafening! Kingsgate Native - Golden Jubilee? |

Im on big on Nicconi AP - after this week that prob means he wont turn up

The fact that no money is lining up to back her suggests to me that there has to be some doubt. I think that the Golden Jubilee is a tough race and the King Stand is a Group 1 now so why not take the easier option?
If confirmed, I would snap the bookies hands off for 10/1 e/w as I think it could well be 3rd time lucky as Nibbledat states! |
|
By:
Fleeting spirit not really had excuses for defeats though. Good draws both times. That being said still a good record in the race and 10/1 is a big price.

FS...record 1st time out 1,1,2...only scenic blast to good last yr...i'm on as already posted on here...no overdose or the yank hoss...got to go for this imo..
asked on the aussie forum thoughts between scenic & nic... gen. vote was in favour of scenic...so i'll go for 3 rd time lucky.. |

Marchand D'or (25/1 in a place) runs in Prix Gros Jean Chantilly tomorrow - won the same race 2 years ago beating Equiano (Equiano then won King Stand stakes)
Fleeting Spirit now only 10's in a place and Nicconi 5's with 2 firms. Next forfeit stage at 5 day entries on Weds 9th 12pm with possible supplementaries (although doubtful) |

i think fleeting spirit primed for a big run,and other horse of interest is total gallery no penalty now,10s and 14s to big.

Has Fleeting Spirit had a problem or has this always been the intended starting point?
Anyone know who will ride him also? Queally back on would be fine with me. |

On nicconi e/w at 5/1. Looks like I have the price at least. I wouldn't mind him just being s shade below Scenic after he won easily from stall 15. I'm on quite large and my large bets never seem to win so already getting ready for the disappointment.

Been experimenting with randomizing the size of my bets with some success! Bottom line is we're not always right either in the horses we back or in the amounts we put on, so if you have say 10 bets in a day, try randomizing the amounts and see what happens (even just as a test to start). |

Cheers Trev. Think you've got the winner with them two. I've missed the price on Kingsgate though so think I'll just go e/w on the filly.
I'm not sure how good this Aussie thing is. Scenic Blast looks to be better to me but I'm no expert on their form. Marchand D'or the only other I might be interested in, if he comes over. |

Kingsgate Native will not attempt to emulate his victory in the 2008 Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot and will instead run in the King's Stand Stakes next week.
Sir Michael Stoute's sprinter looked exceptional when winning at Haydock on his seasonal reappearance and the five-year-old holds entries in both Group One sprints. The Mujadil gelding was just touched off on his racecourse debut in the Windsor Castle Stakes three years ago and took in both the King's Stand over five furlongs and the Golden Jubilee over six a year later, winning the latter contest. He finished only 13th in the Golden Jubilee last year on his first start for Stoute following an abortive spell at stud but has since proved all his old ability remains. "I've got some important work to do this week with the potential Ascot runners so I've not tidied it up just yet, but the plan is to go for the King's Stand with Kingsgate on Tuesday," Stoute told At The Races. |

I've taken some 20's ew Markab and I'm going to have a little bit more on today at 16's.
It has a bit to find but the horse is still improving and I can see it going well. Only heavy ground would be a worry. |

No surprise to see Nicconi being well backed. Won the Lightning Stakes earlier this year in Oz. The last 4 winners of that race to run in the Kings Stand were:

worry about Nicconi giving up so much ground against in form aggressive front runners.
Still like Equiano. Starspangled to grab a place. joke of ride last time like when they ran Haradusan first time out in the Lockinge. |

mister manamaman [too many ms?] or the aussie horse that ran so well in singapore gold trail i believe are my two against the field
|

the faster these front runners go the better for nicconi

By:
whats the reasons behind nicconi last 2 runs?
|
|
By:
nibbledat
Nicconi runs his best races fresh. Unbeaten when running fresh |
|
By:
Das, KK.Just be careful with Markab (at any price). That last run was not a race and needs to be thoroughly ignored. There is no possible way a 7-y-0 can be improving. If he beats more than 2 home here I will give up the game. A 200/1 shot with no chance save the biggest draw bias in history.

I strongly believe there's plenty of value to be had in Gold Trail at 16/1.
His overall profile is a little misleading as he's all about speed and really anything beyond the minimum trip stretches his stamina(He has won a Gp1 over 6f but he dictated a steady pace from the front and his class told against inferior opposition). In 5½f Galaxy Stakes last year he looked sure to win before fading behind Nicconi inside the final half furlong and for good measure he repeated the trick in this years contest. The International Spirit was a familiar story as it appeared for a moment that he had fought off Rocket Man but he faded once again inside the final furlong. I believe the later was a noteworthy performance against dyed in the wool Group 1 international sprinters and he wasn't done for class but for stamina. He's proven he travels well so with optimum conditions and some luck with the draw he should find this much easier against our stodgy sprinters. |
|
By:
Gold Trail ran out of his skin in Singapore, I'm not sure he has the class to be winning this.
|
|
By:
rowing in with a few of you who think Fleeting Spirit can make it third time lucky.
GL to you all |

BTW
should the aussie hope Nicconi be fav for this(on form) or is it because he is an australian raider? |
|
By:
Now that Starspangledbanner is running, does this mean he will miss the Jubilee ?
