By:
won prix jebel
By:
Shokking work, Stake!
duncan idaho 20 Apr 14:52 What is Makfi please? Is it the 2,000 Guineas winner please? |
By:
Is it a certain or likely runner? 66s looks highly tempting.
By:
Anywhere we can get the replay from, shouldn't be 66/1 by rights

Ta, just found it, decent performance, best work in the finish so should improve for a mile and better ground. RPR 110 is about right given the level of opposition but potential to better that for sure

he looks like Lochsong

Interesting mention from Tony Morris in today's piece on Elusive Pimpernel.

Get 50/1 nrnb if anyone's interested.
By:
Eightfold path anyone, very interesting on pedigree obviously
By:
No Eightfold Path.
ben10 20 Apr 19:52 Get 50/1 nrnb if anyone's interested. That's masssive with the nrnb, isn't it? |
By:
ben,
Who is offering the 50/1 NRNB? Thanks |
By:
Winner ;)
By:
Stan James were, long gone now
By:
Good to see a few quid at 999-1 for the winner of next Sats big race.
By:
Never mind the 999, the 66 with Her Majesty's Nanny Goat looks enormous.
Definite price crash material. |
By:
66 gone. Still 50 with others. In terms of betting order shouldn't Makfi be somewhere between Awzaan and Xtension - not stuck out near the back of the queue? When bookies/punters wake up the shears have to come out.

Wonder who told Hamdan to sell him?
By:
You'd have to think Tregoning played a part?
By:
He'll be hoping he can win the 1000 Guineas for him then! I wouldn't be best pleased, must already be worth 4 times what was paid for him. The fact he must have shown little early on as a two year old and this year has developed into a Group winner is a massive bonus though, hopefully more in the tank.
By:
Ben,why must he have 'shown a little early on as a 2yo'???
Pretty clear he had shown eff all...probably because he hadn't been asked any questions. |
By:
Well they thought they'd sell him for 26k instead of even giving him a chance on the racecourse when they normally give them every chance. Don't see them get rid of many Group horses (in fact any horse at 2) so he's found something from somewhere.
By:
precisely.
I'll try again.. So where do you get the idea that.....'he must have shown a little early on as a 2yo'...????? |
By:
Take the a out mate
By:
MAKFI....his winning time in the JBELL was nearly half a second slower than the fillies trial that SPECIAL DUTY finished 3rd in.....How on earth do you expect that to finish in the top half of the 2,000gns field???
By:
milel delzangles is a shrewd trainer
i think the horse has a great e/w chance |
By:
How can you say the horse has a great EWay chance...When you don't know the draw or the exact going....IF Makfi has a good ew chance What do you think will win, and why.
And what will his race tactics be? Plenty of foriegn jockeys have had problems with Newmarket in the past |
By:
Ben....Apologies
By:
Tirol,
Jockeys? Is there a top-class rider with a better strike rate at Newmarket than Lemaire? Rides the track brilliantly imo. |

Thanks Ben !!!!

By:
Massivly overpriced at 40/1. Doubt it will win but should not be that price
By:
No worries mate, I agree he looks over priced on what he's done and is possibly capable of doing
By:
What do we think of the draw, lads? (15)

from sporting life:
There has not been a French-trained winner since Pennekamp in 1995 but Mikel Delzangles is hoping Makfi can right that statistic. The son of Dubawi is unbeaten in two starts and made a winning seasonal return in the seven-furlong Group Three Prix Djebel at Maisons-Laffitte earlier this month. Delzangles said: "Makfi is well and he will travel over to Britain on Friday morning. "He has really improved since his win in the Prix Djebel and it was a very good comeback run - he definitely wasn't 100% on that occasion. "I don't think he will have a problem with the step up to a mile as he is a very handy horse. "He has only run on soft ground, so I have no concerns if there is any rain, but I can't see that he would have an issue with a faster surface either." |

40/1 with NRNB and BOG with stan james seems very fair to me
