I don't think the Ruby Factor is relevant with Twist Magic as he has run well and won for other pilots. I would be more concerned that this race looks a lot stronger than the one he won last year and it's not as if he won easy.

also in the Sizing Europe love camp :x hope he wins, but he's had a long season.....

Kempes ew at 16s ? A much better animal on decent ground.

Got to admit I can't see why Blackstairmountain is considered a shoe in. Would prefer to be on Flat out especially since he has had a longer break.
By:
Flat Out and Tavern Times are the sniff jobs imo wherever they turn up.
By:
Did Townend even get a choice on riding Flat Out? E.Mullins was on him before chelt when he won, and obviously didn't ride at chelt because he was injured.

Captain Cee Bee out of Champion Hurdle
BY RACING POST STAFF 1:07PM 19 APR 2010 CAPTAIN CEE BEE will not revert to hurdles for Friday's Rabobank Champion Hurdle at Punchestown after being withdrawn by trainer Eddie Harty at Monday's confirmation stage. Captain Cee Bee burst a blood vessel when 5-2 favourite for the Irish Independent Arkle Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last month and finished down the field. Harty had suggested that JP McManus' nine-year-old could contest the Grade 1 2m hurdle if it "cut up terribly", but he is now likely to line up in the Ryanair Novice Chase on Thursday. Last year's first and second Solwhit and Punjabi were among the 12 still in the running, along with 2009 Evening Herald Champion Novice Hurdle winner Hurricane Fly, star mares Quevega and Voler La Vedette and Spinal Research Supreme Novices' Hurdle third Dunguib. |

Can't be arsed going through the whole thread but why exactly should Blackstairmountain reverse Cheltenham form with Flat Out please? ?:|

Prospero 18 Apr 21:39
Blackstairmountain looks like one that is better RH TD. He also met with a setback in the run-up to Cheltenham, missing an intended target at Naas, so I'm much more inclined to judge him on his LTO effort when he shaped a better horse than Luska Lad (who's a 150 type on his Gowran win) before the ground did for him. |
By:
Twist Magic has yet to beat a decent horse away from Sandown. So opposing him especially with no Ruby on board is prob best.
By:
Exeter run with loads of weight was pretty decent though.

Grey Soldier for Gordon Elliott at 16/1, highly regarded. Kempton was too bad to be true, very heavily backed, also look what Escort'men has done since at Aintree. Escort'men's form in France was nothing to write home about and it was a shock for punters.
I just have to look past Willie Mullins this week with no Ruby Ruby Ruby. Other thoughts this week: strongly against Denman and Kalahari King, but not laying. I like Son Amix a lot in the 4 y-o hurdle, wonder if Orsippus will run. Would love to see War of Attrition win the gold Cup, would be sick to see Punjabi win the Punchestown CH on Friday, having backed him heavily win only at 4/1 last year. |

Denman meets Joncol in Guinness Gold Cup
BY RACING POST STAFF 10:19AM 20 APR 2010 DENMAN and Joncol will clash in Wednesday's Guinness Gold Cup at the Punchestown festival after both were among 12 horses declared on Tuesday. Tony McCoy retains the ride on Denman, as does Alain Cawley with Joncol, while Paul Carberry stands in for the injured Paddy Flood on last year's Boylesports.com Champion Novice Chase winner RareBob. Cooldine and J'y Vole, to be ridden by Paul Townend and David Casey respectively, represent champion trainer Willie Mullins and former winners of the race Notre Pere and War Of Attrition are also set to do battle. For War Of Attrition, the mount of Davy Russell, it will be the final run of his illustrious career. The Queen's Barbers Shop and the Philip Hobbs-trained Planet Of Sound complete the British-trained trio. Miss Mitch, Master Medic and Royal County Star were the three horses not declared. B-) |

Joncol running on good ground :0
By:
Reports say it top quality NH Good ground. Plenty of water been put on.

Think Willie has the 2m nov hurdle wrapped up with Blackstair and Flat Out. The CC is a wide open race, can't wait to see how SE gets on against the big boys. Like Rebecca Curtis' in the Land Rover Bumper and I think Zaarito is a huge price to win the 3m1f nov chase!
Agree that Tavern Times is a great bet in the PP Champ Bumper tomorrow, that Cheltenham Bumper form is working out really well! And don't forget Sivota tomorrow too....... |
By:
I'm thinking Joncol and Denman forecast is the one. The rest of the field not so good. I feel Joncol is an improver and don't buy into him being a swamp fiend. Denners just too good for rhis lot if even remotely interested

Denman has put two good runs back to back since he won his Gold Cup, a concern for anyone?

Denman has put two good runs back to back since he won his Gold Cup, a concern for anyone?
I know he fell twice but he was running well at both Aintree and Newbury til he fell....... |
By:
He was not running well. He looked beat both times.
By:
Denman is a massive lay. He needs soft ground. He had another hard race in the GC. Don't get taken in regarding comments along lines of, 'never had him better' etc etc - heard it all before only for horses to disappoint.
By:
Cant agree COM. Was beaten both times before falling. Niche Market had him in trouble even before the first mistake at Newbury too.
By:
Come off it das, he'd have won at newbury. Aintree is too soon after cheltenham. Punchestown is not.
By:
Cv - he was in trouble at Newbry before the 1st mistake, take of the rose tinted... :|
I think I have to oppose him tomorrow.........? |
By:
He was in trouble alright, but he'd still have won. How fr was tricky trickster behind? Niche market tired cose to home, denman had run it out of him. Also you'd think nicholls would hve learnt his esson with denman after aintree ast year. So I think he'll be in good enough shape to beat the rag tag horses we have as staying chasers over here.
I'm not sying he should be backed but he defo woud have had enough t newbury. |

this race is the race no one can win, think denman is coming to the end of his career, plus the gold cup was a very poor race, imperial got beat after, mon mome got 3rd.joncol - heavy, whats up with cooldine, the only possible winner - dont laugh - planet of sound, will like the going - untried at 3m,but as beat calgary, close to albertas,3rd in an arkle - the usual route to gold cup success,if you ignore its last 2 runs - reported breathing problems lto,its 3rd top rated and the unknown but potentially the best horse.none of the others look capable hope some off you at least had a look at planet of sound |
