Greyhound racing in the north is finished . You've got trainers like Ray for instance. Previously straight= now-if he has two runners in the same race the first one in the betting will be no good. That's the TIGHE impact.

I was going to compile a list of 2023's biggest and most obvious jobs at the track but I lost interest as I no longer bet there but here's three

Ellie O   ( Burton)
Havana Skater ( Heilbron)
Midtown King ( Lister)

Go google

Does the handicapper think nobody is watching? was he on? I know my view

Disagree.

Irrel how many lengths it’s beat it’s on the downgrade into a poor race.

It’s absolutely blasted out to beat its best split by 0.07

It’s then been relatively weak and joined up the back

Very lucky not to be passed, bend came just in time.

And yeah it’s improved 50 odd spots first time in 20 odds races it’s on the bunny?

As I say you generally have a point. Not everything is corrupt for sure.

Ps the bloke has 1 dog in the race and as long as nobody else is stopping theirs…

Can you blame him presuming he has done “readying one up” every now and again when you are running for 130 quid?

Greyhound racing is all about opinions itsme and I have mine you have yours. My view is that Scotch Storm was idling in front and had it wanted go about its business would have won half a dozen lengths(my view it'll improve if its allowed to in its coming races). For me it quickened when it saw the dog inside it. I also don't agree that it doesn't matter how far a dog is beaten consecutively for obvious reasons but do understand that a dog can be beaten a fair distance in any given race especially for instance if its a front runner that doesn't make the lead and is baulked at the first. Some trainers have numerous dogs on the strength which they own and they will be getting a very good living running for these £130's a time. Nothing wrong with improving a couple of lengths by good/clever training but I don't believe thats what happened here.
Of course not everything is corrupt however Newcastle has deteriorated so much in the last two/three years that its difficult not to think that way.

So today 'Teflon' has four runners. On the earlies he has an even money chance a 6/4 chance and two 3/1 joint second favourites. Now odds compiling isn't easy but it's clear this guy is by far the best treated at the track which must be galling for the other trainers(although I do wish they'd stop conferring)...especially since its so unjustifiably so.
Clearly the most interesting one is Sonic Panda in the 3.13. The dam is the Irish oaks and Dundalk international winner Killmacdonagh and Burgess bucks ran open races. Sonic panda is Jun 22 and must have been a 5k pup(at three months or so) but now running off a £50 dogs mark at Newcastle. Eleven yards getting two from a slow away m/w running cream biscuit. Maybe its underweight maybe its had a problem but what we do know is it will win when he wants it to especially as he always receives 'special' help.  Personally I don't think today will be the day as its easy to shorten 365 on bad accounts but time will tell.

Yes I have but I've never been keen on the Romford/Crayford style tracks where leading the first bend is so important to winning and there are some seriously good judges especially at Crayford.

Several years ago Newcastle was a brilliant running track, well graded with with top quality straight racing.

Now its still a great running track with some decent dogs, the most bias/unacceptable handicapping in the country and an anything goes approach which results in tiddlywinks racing below the level of any old independent.

Perhaps I'd hoped that by highlighting the obvious things would improve. That certainly hasn't happened (its unbelievably got worse) so I've achieved nothing. The same people must have become very wealthy in the last few years and a lot of the rest of the trainers have said -'well rather than sticking one by a year I'm going to pop one by every couple of weeks'...thats where we are now. A regular punter who assumes all is transparent has absolutely no chance of winning regardless how good he is, he's more likely to end up in Broadmoor.

I do hear you Glasgow as I would never previously before have written the above post. Maybe with that post I reached an unacceptable level myself(nothing before that as far as I'm aware though).

Sonic Panda yesterday improved 53 +30 from its previous trial on 29th December(where it lost NO ground) so I'm not wrong and no aftertiming either. An improvement of 10 1/2 lengths in thirteen days.

No enquiry...of course how can you call an enquiry into yourself.

So tonight Teflon has three runners. Two 6/4 favourites and a 3/1 second fav on the earlies(anybody spot a pattern here)? I can only imagine Teflon told the handicapper he was going home early for his tea tonight as his dogs run in each of the first three races. You just couldn't make this up if you tried.
