Got to say it's an absolute scandal that Newcastle is licenced by the GBGB. It has to be hands down the most corrupt track in the UK . Nobody seems to care that dogs lose/improve ten lengths from one run to the next. Probably only three or four honest trainers. Several trainers attached to the the track should be sacked immediately , at least half a dozen should be put on a first and final warning and undoubtedly the RM should be given his marching orders. This whole thing accelerated when a trainer came in a few years ago and was given carte blanche. Fifteen jobs later with no recourse and nearly all the rest of trainers have said 'well if nothing happens to him why should anything happen to us'. All downhill from there In well over forty years involved in greyhound racing I've never seen anything remotely like this circus Of course it's all about 'The Media Rights' as it certainly isn't about animal welfare!

Is there a pattern here? A cynic might suggest they've been well placed to win but of course that would be cynical wouldn't it.

anyone could tell those pups where pacy but they are also dodgers, they just trapped clear and got on with it,put a dog in front of them and they hang the race up.

You aren't seriously suggesting that these three very heavily bet sonic dogs this week was honest training. Spare me garry I have an IQ in double figures. The last time Tighe was allowed three runners in the same race only one of them completed the course such was the disgraceful way they were KO'd. I note the track have never allowed that to occur again. The only action they have ever taken against him
Gartcloss Spence - now there's the King of dodgers at the track

They are the same litter ...King Elvis/Sonic Spur. They are Sept 2021 . I called them youngsters but they certainly aren't pups. None of what you say stacks up garry. Their runs and trials aren't littered with short distance wins or defeats or awkward as would be the norm for dodgers. Just three (MORE) jobs this week pure and simple

Newcastle Tuesday 21st November 9.11 race Trap 1 Ballymac Fearne huge drifter on betfair and you guessed how it was going to run prior to the race. Started last , never got touched throughout the race finished last. And all because it was bet in the afternoon by some poor buggar that fancied it so they knew they would get easy money laying it come the race.

Sonic moon missed the break badly tonight then ran a monster race to win. You say you do this all the time garry but what you forget is that sonic moon wouldn't have tried on the 9th November so the run doesn't count for anything. Clean runs bring a dog on as has been proven on many occasions from this trainer and again tonight. Such a shame as this man clearly knows his onions. Could be a top trainer if he was straight

Strange entries on card saturday afternoon.Dogs reappearing after long breaks (reserves). No marks on cards for 3-4 months and going from A4 to A8 after break, and bolting in. Looks like they are short of dogs as Sunderland form cropping up . Less racing and regular track form is essential for punters.

Newcastle are grossly short of dogs to fulfil their obligation . That's a small part of the reason that absolutely anything goes at the track and no trainer has been sacked .If only Entain knew what they were getting themselves into considering going to bed with this shower.

Nice job yesterday from William Finley with the PUP
15/12 Itsallluckbill MISSED BREAK then blew them away winning over eight lengths in 29.45
30/11 best qualifying trial and most recent run 30.12
Off for two weeks, probably private trial then easy money. They got fortunate he missed the break badly otherwise he'd have won the length of the straight.
Two more pups on today for Finley . Same age but only one(Tee Tee Jet-the litter brother to the above). Be interesting to map the progress.
Don't tell me Finlay thinks he's going to put as many by as the Teflon Don (Tighe).

Fair play to W Finley. Both pups ran well in the final race with Tee Tee Jet winning .
Newcastle management really mucked up not sacking Tighe when they should have as it's ruined what used to be a terrific track up there.

Adelante Steel beaten 17 (yes SEVENTEEN lengths) perhaps lost one length in running -No RETRIAL - No finished lame comment - trainer P Rutherford wins race with other runner which had an obvious chance as Ballygibbon Bus was well handicapped today. Talk about making sure your other one doesn't win it when you are backing one. Just typifies everything about the track and management. It was even beaten three lengths by the clear and obviously lame Foyle Bridge.
A dreadful advert for greyhound racing

Merry Christmas Paul Singlewood... must have got good money out of that one
4.43 Newcastle Minnies Torov an absolutely diabolical run . Beaten 10-15 lengths (didn't even lose a length in running)after being well bet into 6/4 in the morning drifted to 5/2 on here. Obviously not the kennel money just some poor punter betting a no good one again. That dog will be sore in the morning
Anything goes at the circus
You've got to laugh . I think two trainers have left recently Neil Black and Patrick Kennedy. Both good quality solid straight trainers . You couldn't make this up if you tried

Above is the recent form of SCOTCH STORM trained by HARRY BURTON with finishing times. Number two at the track only behind the untouchable Teflon Tighe.
First try today and obviously an SP job as they couldn't have got their money on otherwise
Prior to today it's five most recent runs resulted in four last places and a fifth beaten cumulatively fifty three lengths... yes an average of over ten lengths each race. Makes all today. That would have been a red light at any independent I ever knew... and this is supposed to be under the rules of racing!
Does anybody know of a track/management in the UK that would have allowed this to occur? I certainly don't.

Greyhound racing in the north is finished . You've got trainers like Ray for instance. Previously straight= now-if he has two runners in the same race the first one in the betting will be no good. That's the TIGHE impact.

Irrel how many lengths it’s beat it’s on the downgrade into a poor race.
It’s absolutely blasted out to beat its best split by 0.07
It’s then been relatively weak and joined up the back
Very lucky not to be passed, bend came just in time.
And yeah it’s improved 50 odd spots first time in 20 odds races it’s on the bunny?
As I say you generally have a point. Not everything is corrupt for sure.

Ps the bloke has 1 dog in the race and as long as nobody else is stopping theirs…
Can you blame him presuming he has done “readying one up” every now and again when you are running for 130 quid?

Greyhound racing is all about opinions itsme and I have mine you have yours. My view is that Scotch Storm was idling in front and had it wanted go about its business would have won half a dozen lengths(my view it'll improve if its allowed to in its coming races). For me it quickened when it saw the dog inside it. I also don't agree that it doesn't matter how far a dog is beaten consecutively for obvious reasons but do understand that a dog can be beaten a fair distance in any given race especially for instance if its a front runner that doesn't make the lead and is baulked at the first. Some trainers have numerous dogs on the strength which they own and they will be getting a very good living running for these £130's a time. Nothing wrong with improving a couple of lengths by good/clever training but I don't believe thats what happened here. Of course not everything is corrupt however Newcastle has deteriorated so much in the last two/three years that its difficult not to think that way.

So today 'Teflon' has four runners. On the earlies he has an even money chance a 6/4 chance and two 3/1 joint second favourites. Now odds compiling isn't easy but it's clear this guy is by far the best treated at the track which must be galling for the other trainers(although I do wish they'd stop conferring)...especially since its so unjustifiably so. Clearly the most interesting one is Sonic Panda in the 3.13. The dam is the Irish oaks and Dundalk international winner Killmacdonagh and Burgess bucks ran open races. Sonic panda is Jun 22 and must have been a 5k pup(at three months or so) but now running off a £50 dogs mark at Newcastle. Eleven yards getting two from a slow away m/w running cream biscuit. Maybe its underweight maybe its had a problem but what we do know is it will win when he wants it to especially as he always receives 'special' help. Personally I don't think today will be the day as its easy to shorten 365 on bad accounts but time will tell.

Yes I have but I've never been keen on the Romford/Crayford style tracks where leading the first bend is so important to winning and there are some seriously good judges especially at Crayford.
Several years ago Newcastle was a brilliant running track, well graded with with top quality straight racing.
Now its still a great running track with some decent dogs, the most bias/unacceptable handicapping in the country and an anything goes approach which results in tiddlywinks racing below the level of any old independent.
Perhaps I'd hoped that by highlighting the obvious things would improve. That certainly hasn't happened (its unbelievably got worse) so I've achieved nothing. The same people must have become very wealthy in the last few years and a lot of the rest of the trainers have said -'well rather than sticking one by a year I'm going to pop one by every couple of weeks'...thats where we are now. A regular punter who assumes all is transparent has absolutely no chance of winning regardless how good he is, he's more likely to end up in Broadmoor.
I do hear you Glasgow as I would never previously before have written the above post. Maybe with that post I reached an unacceptable level myself(nothing before that as far as I'm aware though).

Sonic Panda yesterday improved 53 +30 from its previous trial on 29th December(where it lost NO ground) so I'm not wrong and no aftertiming either. An improvement of 10 1/2 lengths in thirteen days.
No enquiry...of course how can you call an enquiry into yourself.

So tonight Teflon has three runners. Two 6/4 favourites and a 3/1 second fav on the earlies(anybody spot a pattern here)? I can only imagine Teflon told the handicapper he was going home early for his tea tonight as his dogs run in each of the first three races. You just couldn't make this up if you tried.
