The vet @ Towcester has just abandoned today's meeting saying the track is not fit for racing.

Wow! Is it a temporary failure or an intrinsic/fundamental one I wonder. The Derby beckons. Maybe?

Just posted a George Curtis Ballyregan Bob thread and told it will be posted once checked by the mods. Is this the case for every thread started these days?

A fair proportion. The newest requirement in the forum is the invention of epithets/pseudonyms/labels to substitute for words possibly condemned by moderation. That’s once we’ve worked out which words actually attract their displeasure.

Hi all,
Bit of a long shot, but I’m trying to find out more about my grandad’s greyhound days. His name was Frank Payne and he trained greyhounds in London, probably late 60s through the 80s. Family stories he was involved with the TV Trophy / TV Gold Cup, and was generally a big character around the tracks. Also used to have my dad Dave Payne assisting him. He passed away before I was born, so I only know the stories — would love to hear if anyone here remembers him, raced against him, or has any info at all. Thanks in advance. |

Didn’t play, just watched. When a certain favourite gets beat, it gets well beat. There’s never any chance off it winning, let’s put it that way.

Several races I’ve dismissed tonight where a trainer has three runners. You have to laugh.
