I hate that track
Like what Pf said
It’s a good drink up with lads that’s it
Love for the derby to be at Swindon

Lister thing came charging home didn’t he
By the eye your think tasty

Dunno whether or not it was lack of experience at the track
Or the track itself
Only saw a few races but some dogs
Werent right from the boxes

When: 04 May 18 08:10
Dogs just seem to get unbalanced all the time. At the start or wen they get clipped. By the time they get back on an even keel another bend comes up. Just no back straight. In the old days u saw such dogs as some picture dempseys duke the hawk wen they took off the hair on the back o ur neck stood up. Real dogs.
By:

When: 04 May 18 08:18
So you think its the quality of the dogs private.
Id say it was the track at those boxes
W ould the track at that point
Not be as compacted as it should be for the
Jump out of the boxes
Its off the bend granted
But if you use the same boxes week in week out
The ground must get more compacted around
Them due to the handlers, boxes and dogs
Weoight bearing down
Wouldnt have that where the boxes are now
Would you ?

As i,ve said on this thread and others times meen nowt round gaff. Constant over watering dont help either. All thru last year and last nights start to the derby sliw going. Y. They want a safe track. Loada shoite. I was hoping they would move boxes forward 10 yrds. They said they were gona make alterations. Dont c any. Facilities at the place are fine. I will never get head round track. As fattie says it is wot it is n we gotta get used to it.

Ah thats ok then
Feck me we should all give up then

People said that at wimbledon
IT AINT WOT IT WAS NOW IS IT ?

What a pathetic attitude to have

Fecking good job hitler never invaded
It is what it is .... We all have to speak german now

Fecking good job we chucked you out in 1916
It is what it is .... We got more mosques than churches now

So british people put up with sh1te now because .....

IT IS WHAT IT IS ..... not worth trying to change it eh ?

fair enough PF...I thought it was big for a trade if nothing else
it rarely cops but it usually trades shorter as the comp goes on

& as for towcester, been saying since the 2nd meeting (1st televised meeting) that this is not a track for me
fundamentally it is flawed, despite all the media bs to the contrary
basically it is unchanged since then bar a few deck chairs being rearranged
and it is not fit for purpose

then throw in all the other bollox like the final being run in daylight, lack of TV coverage for the later stages etc
and I can honestly say I could not give a fack about it Sad

First, I would point out some major good points about Towcester, Visually for TV viewers, a great view, no billboards blocking or distracting viewing (excellent this needs to stay the same), it is the nearest thing in the UK that resembles an  Aussie track for viewing (again excellent)
Towcester TV is great, likewise the increased growth in TV coverage of the event (brilliant)

The negative is the going or apparent lack of control of it? why? -  well the majority of hounds are bred for speed so when owners see that their expensive purchases are not getting away to great effect, then notice the slow finishing times and the fact that 500m is a bigger test in distance than is normal, well they start to fear they have purchased the wrong sort?( subjective paranoia) which could trigger a change in the breed if the big event continues to be held at Towcester or the circumference of track and more controlled going not possible?

Before the start of competition I expressed doubts about slow away wide runners on this track, the surface does look loose out wide sometimes, and trap 6 is not the place to be round this gaff without early? likewise I would not mind any hound I fancy running out of trap 5 round here particularly if middle seed.

Now I know nothing about track management, but perhaps they should invite other groundsmen with experience to see what they can do to produce a more even consistent racing surface.(which it is not)

Distance = Time, these 480m hounds are running far enough on this track!

I think we'll see a different Wildcat next week. Showed great gears, just could'nt clear the Brandy. Obviously need to trap a little better and be closer to the rails.  Would i be right in saying Wildcat has as much early pace as anything in the competition that can be genuinely considered an outright winner?

Just a little short of room for middles around here, with the wides cutting in the first bend more than normal?
By:

Possibly yes.

Alfie’s Prince 3/1 in four dog heat
Hutch won egg spoon race other week can’t have him 6/4
Top can’t have
Alfie’s very fast dog but does need motorcycle get home

So hutch 6/4 or Prince 3/1
3s huge in context of the race

Want nice 5.10 split befor he gets outstayed
By:

Yep due to overwatering and traps on bend

The amount of dogs that miss break, stumble or get bumped in the first ten metres is crazy

But it is what it is Cry

Like others betting on races is crazy

Normally don't bother but lost a right few quid last night

Maybe two more bets for me in first round and that's it finished with place

I never bet at Towcester but the derby pulled me in unfortunately last night

I just about agree with you joevalue147 but Brandy himself was hampered, slipped and recovered at the first bend and is likely to do better too.  I don't think there is much between either, dog other than trap draw, at present.
