it took me 20 minutes to get £25 on a 33/1 shot ante-post for the derby at O K Korals today. the girl phoned someone to get a price, then had to get the bet cleared by someone else. she also said it was a code red, it felt like I was actually begging her to take the bet. cheers.

I must have spent an hour on the phone a few years ago , trying to get £25ew an 80/1 poke, after being offered £1.12 or something ridiculous online.
After kindly telling Billy's they were actually sponsoring the competition to the tune of 6 figures and their rep would undoubtedly appear on Sky saying they've laid £2k ew this at 66/1 and £1k ew this at 150/1 and other similar bollox, that maybe my humble £1k liability wasn't so bad after all. Eventually as a 'special gesture' and they were sponsoring , they decided to offer me the full amount , but said my account was still restricted, like I was still a naughty boy! |
|
By:
tried to have £10 ew with coral today, off to the trader and given 2.50ew but atleast it was £2.50 after seemingly being banned by the sponsors. lol.
ITs the fooking derby lads!! Bairn .... give us a shout what the dog is and il do better for you. Would love to lay at books prices with their available liability |
|
By:
oylesports duke, took all the prices on here from 48s down to 36, also got some on in P P shops and other OK Koral shops, it is now 25s there. you have got to nick round all the shops with £25 bets. cheers.

By:

|
|
By:
no probs lanza, I'll be betting a few more to make up my book, there seems to be a lot of good pups running just now, which ones to bet though, that is the question. last year I made Ballymac Matt my top selection, ko'd ist rnd, went on to win the Irish derby. cheers.
|
|
By:
hi bairn,
36.00 for £60 is up. Il leave it up for a few hours. If paddies cut their 33's to fall in line..best price available prob be around 30's? Yeah...sods law. Yeah, lots of pups, bit of a lotto as to who will come over. Give us a shout who you fancy, will save alot of leg work. |

Spoilsports Duke is not going to Wimbledon for the English Derby
|
|
By:
If a bookmaker buys a dog with a substantial Ante post liability and then decides not to run him in the event, this could lead to overt corruption.
|
|
By:
I bet Roxholme Bully ante-post to win the English derby 2 years ago, a couple of weeks later, the owner and trainer said, they were keeping it solely for the Irish derby, well lo and behold, it broke a leg or was very badly injured in the 1st rnd, moral of the story is, you don't get too long at the top in greyhound racing, so, you must give the dog a chance to win a top race worth £200,000. it just seems crazy, I hope the same fate doesn't happen to mr not get a penny on BoYle, for the dog's sake. cheers.

By:
Bully broke down in the Leger semi final at Limerick when favourite to win the competition. That was after he ran in the Irish Derby.
Duke does not look to have much early at all, looked the same in his trial on Saturday night. He does not appear to be a dog that would be ideally suited to Wimbledon to me, I get the impression he would love 575y/600y around Shelbourne. |
|
By:
I've followed him in for the Irish, thinking he can improve and as the owner and trainer says, his target will definitely be the derby, but good points PF, so keep me posted if you see any good signs, you are one of the guys I think know about greyhound racing. cheers.

Plenty of Derby type dogs go through their paces at Sheffield tonight. According to the betting, the one with the best chance is 33/1 Cloran Paddy but I'm not so sure. He has tremendous pace but not renowned for being up there early and may need things to fall in his lap at Wimbledon. Some bigger priced rivals tonight include 139/1 Light Foot Mata. I was impressed when seeing him win last time and is obviously smart when cutting loose. Viking Jack is 999/1 and reckon that's a fair reflection of his chances on current form
In the preceding race, 125/1 Coolavanny Rebel currently stands ahead of last year's finalist 254/1 Making Paper, but Lanza may have got this wrong! ![]() . Rebel's fast when nipping out, whilst Paper is a good competition dog. The race doesnt end there with 290/1 Boyneside Fun and 299/1 Lightfoot Scolar in there pitching too. Tough race to call but word of warning about Boyneside Fun. Often he disputes the lead but equally doesn't want to get on with things, a bit of an enigma. However, Wimbledon could see him in a different lightEarly on the card, Newinn Blitz is a 483/1 but cant see victory tonight, never mind the Derby! Lol. I would be more interested Tyrur Fergal (good sprint winner recently) but not in the betting. Would be a very longshot anyway Of Elaine Parker's dogs she didn't like saying about Derby possibles when I asked her. She said just lots of owners to consult, so be wary of those bets Will be watching with notebook ready tonight |

![]() woody...i take prices down for dogs that are running and then adjust after the race, taking into account the actual race and potential losses. Cloran paddy has been smashed in the betting... was a very early addition to the other exchange list and then after the last trial, people piled in again, the charle factor and we layers run for cover while leaving a little up to tempt. Mata was another one i have taken money for. Only £50 at 200....but i dont want any more at that price. After his last race, someone was asking for 150 and 140...which i laid. As he's now won the race in a decent time...beating the perceived market fancy in paddy, im hiding again. Big loser as still being backed at 100. (only person with this dog listed) I asked the owners of coolavanny rebel if they wanted 200/1 many weeks ago... they said no. thats ok...but recent nice smart runs after a break..im hoping he goes well or until i get a layer. If someone wants 200/1 please send us a message on twitter / scene or just stick it up. You can have any price b-fun. (within reason) Scholar has been poor of late. Newinn blitz has been 750/1 for weeks...Now 1000. Not even sure he will enter. oh ...and sheffield dont do derby dogs woody. ;-) |
|
By:
the funny thing is ...i asked betfair to add a few dogs yesterday, mata included and they replied that he was not good enough. But just added him to the sportsbook. lol.
They are trying to channel everyone onto their sportsbook. I had a look at a few numbers i recorded from last year: 24/4/15 -when i started taking note...50k had been matched here and id matched 16/25k ....Nothing at b-d. Will be interesting to see how much is matched in total here. take at the other place in this race, is growing slowly but it is getting better. |

Backed Jaytee Jet at 66/1. Just hope he comes over now. Ran in the Derby last year, anyway. Don't think they realise he's just won the Easter Cup!

Targets for the year were the Easter Cup and English Derby according to the owner.

Added 100/1 Quietly to return £400. Team shaping up nicely. As said, other £400's Save The Don, Slippery Fred and Domino Storm. £250 Peregrine Falcon, Light Foot Mata. £200 Droopys Roddick, Eden The Kid, Jaytee Jet
Good luck! |

Betting money on yet?
Peregrine Falcon will definitely be going anyway I would imagine seen as he has been sold |

Quietly done his wrist in that sprint final at Limerick

|

premier, can you not give me some good news for a change, Bhoylesports Duke for the English and Irish derbies, Clares Rocket for the English along with Quietly, I'm at my wits end. cheers.
|
|
By:
more bad news, although some of my bets are just savers, it's still galling when they don't even give you a chance of making a book on the race. just read, Sidarian Vega out. cheers.

Had some on Must Be Jack at 200+ on both sites, dog trails tomorrow around Wimbledon and is a dog i'd have thought will run the place well, massively fast dog who needs to learn to trap better but hopefully will take to the different boxes
|
|
By:
o k premier, I've followed you in, you don't need much on at these kind of prices, just turn up now and I'll be happy. cheers.

Awful trial, been off since Novemebrr and only had one sprint around SPK but still I wouldn't bother to turn up unless he improves drastically in another trial around the track

200's up again for Must be Jack.
You take the falcon bets pf? ![]() ![]() |
|
By:
No I have not played the competition bar the 25 quid I chucked at that dog last night, to be honest have barely even looked at it this year or any trial results, with the bullshat format I won't play anything now until after the draw or even the first round
Peregrine Falcon has a new owner, presume he has been betting it |
