Chances for all the named above. Coolemore Joe has whizzed round in a trial. Add last year's Derby winner Sidaz Jack, speedy pair Leamaneigh Turbo, Razldazl Banjo and it's plain to see it's a fine renewal. Watch out for Farloe Looper, too!

Basically, ignored the top 10 in the market, mainly coz hot first round races for many and think some bigger priced dogs got virtually equally good chances. Very competitive but main hope 20/1 Southern Mesut. Got the speed, won a classy trial stakes race, so 462 obviously okay. Next in 25/1 Any Dak. Impressively went through the competition unbeaten last year and recent efforts here show he's pretty much spot on again, round the track he loves to dominate. Bigger still 33/1 Farloe Looper. Think this chap has a very bright future and could make a name for himself here. Two large 50/1 each-wayers to look out for: Domino Storm, underestimated and Borna Cheyne, only beaten a length by Swift Keith in a trial stakes that's just 12/1
Good luck! |

Backed my antepost dog Southern Mesut at 9/4 for the heats, 6/4 best now. Should make virtually all
Think 10/1 Do It For Twiggy could surprise a few 5/2 Coolemore Joe looks a good prospect for the McNairs. Hot fav Rio Quattro made need a run or two 3/1 Farloe Looper is a big improver and I fancy him to topple strong fav Any Dak at the difference in prices Borna Cheyne's 11/2 odds of reward appear fair enough to me as did 5/1 about Domino Storm Good luck! |

Thinks its a gd comp this year and best for many years, always enjoy the east anglian derby due to it being my local track. Its very open and think will be very draw dependent due to lots of gd dogs with gd ealy pace.
Don't like to get too involved in early round of EAD especially as Yarmouth is not the easiest of tracks to run until having a couple of runs round. Nice to see all the dogs turning up for at least a couple of trials and many in trial stake race tho so hoepfully races wont have to much trbl at first bend. Fancy a couple of dogs tonight. Heat 1 should be a great race however the two big guns in race having slight fitness doubts in keith and jack. Just enjoy the race imo. Think there ain't too much in quality between aero nemisis and cathys clown so my have small bet on nemisis at 2/1. Both should get clear runs and if t6 can get back anywhere near derby form will be hard to beat imo. I have also done a single on ballygibbon king at 7/2 in ht4 and also in a dbl with rio quattro in following heat at 6/4. I feel bally king is plotted up for a great run with fish likely to be diving to the rails and t5 moving off. He has decent early pace and will hopefully stay middle on the run up to the bend. Dont rate t6s chance in race and feel tht banjo may be danger if pinging but if missing slightly may well have t1 moving off and t3 moving in on him. 28.40 at wimb and 27.92 monmore suggest with a clear could be a great bet at the price. Ht 5 simply feel quattro will break and rail well and be too gd for rest off the field. T2 moving off in trials so could give t1 even more freedom on rails. 6/4 very reasonable imo. Good luck. |

Nice one with Nemesis and Ballygibbon, Puppy |

Not seen the races but had long, drawn-out disagreements about Sidaz Jack being a slightly short runner in the past, which seems to be confirmed looking at the bare bones of the results last night
|
|
By:
You need to watch the race befor taking that judgement woody
Think your being unfair about a dog that's not run for months You can't say that on race comments alone |
|
By:
I know, that's what I said, not seen race. Maybe at his peak he gets it, well he did win the Derby but before that, I always thought he had stamina limitations
|
|
By:
Cheers woody would have been real gd night had quattro won but weren't to be. Very impressed with coolemore joe last night in the race, rated him as only danger but thought he may have needed the run and t1 had a plot draw on the rails, to run track as well as that in first race round there was defo impressive.
Looking at the first heat once sidaz jack led like he did thought it would take some beating however did seem to surrender the lead very tamely and seemed to weaken quite badly after last bend. He was not easing at the bends and seemed to run them pretty well so didnt seem anything wrong with him. May have badly needed the run but ran alot slower than his trials with a clean run in the race so must be slight question marks over him. Defo not been same dog since winning the Derby but a dog that can do 28.50 at wimbo and win a derby should not lead round yarmouth 3 lengths and get beat 5 at the finish unless something is slightly amiss. We will just have to see how he runs in the next round, should be suited to the track as he has gd ep and a tight railer. |
|
By:
Not seen any replays yet but to the eye Swift Keith was the most impressive on the night. Also best run from Aero Nemesis in a while.
Analysis above of Sidaz Jack is an accurate assessment. Should have led to at least the run in having established an early lead, in my opinion. Rio Quattro was a little disappointing but it was his first race for nearly three months. Any Dak tracked well but his heat was quite messy at the third bend where Sidaz Jonathan may have been a little unlucky. Generally though, many fancied dogs although they didn't win are through to the next round. |
|
By:
Aero nemisis run his best race for a long while like you say but the most impressive thing for me about him was his trackcraft and bottle at the first bend to dive inside t4 at the first bend and then hold him off all the way round. Still think he can improve greatly as he is gradually improving since having a couple of quiet months since the 3 quick runs found him out in derby. Still can defo improve his sectionals and the distance looks ideal so can see him going close this year to winning it.
|
|
By:
Must be a problem with Sidaz Jack. But its not a stamina problem. He went through 6 rounds to win the Derby, so anyone saying he does not stay is talking rubbish.
|
|
By:
Is something wrong with Rio Quattro? 20/1 on the exchanges!
|
|
By:
Gone a bit trigger happy and added 12/1 Nemesis to Mesut, Dak and Domino, each-way. Second semi looks the hardest but my quartet misses that, so gotta be quite hopeful all in with a decent chance of reaching the semis, at least
|
|
By:
My Domino Storm bump a couple of times run-up but gritty early bends and won comfortably enough. Despite trouble, Any Dak looked sure to have a qualifying place in the bag before ran out of it home straight
Sidaz Jack made virtually all. Got the trip okay, narrowly beating not the strongest of stayers Coolemore Jack, every chance, half length. Desperately close between Rio Quattro and Jaytee Hawaii for third, with the former just going through Leamaneigh Turbo shot clear and fastest, comfortably beating Swift Keith, every chance My Southern Mesut made all from Forest Gavin and Ballygibbon King, who just shaded Mays King for the remaining qualifying spot |

By:
Bad use of the "my" Woody, you have bet them not own them
|
|
By:
Looks a proper run by Leamaneigh Turbo, hope he goes on to win it, has had plenty of problems since he won the National Puppy Stake over here
|
|
By:
What's the accurate assessment
On jack this week ? What's it lame, didn't stay ,? Who just plain fact it needed the run last week ? |
|
By:
Wish I took 16/1 last week
People where to quick right him off |
|
By:
Not me, me, just the dogs I've backed. Only a reminder what I got left, not that anybody cares. Thought Dak a bit unlucky but Nemesis disappointing. Strange camera angle. Couldn't really see if he was slowly away, stumbled or something?
Re-Jack 5.28 split compared to 5.36 the time before. He needs to be away and clear to show his best, imo Leamaneigh Turbo was on my shortlist but you (avoided saying i) cant back them all. There I go again, my, my, my, me, me, me but dunno what i'm supposed to say instead? |
|
By:
Oh, Leamaneigh did "ME" a good turn, as well as other i'm sure, at Monmore
![]() |
|
By:
The accurate assessment of round 2 is that he ran a lot better but after how he ran last week a leap of faith would have been required to back him to win last night, let alone in the outright market.
Not surprisingly he was virtually unlayable at the track last night to anyone who saw him race in the first round. |
|

With all the excitement surrounding Shelbourne Park, almost forgot about the East Anglian Derby. Got 20/1 antepost Southern Mesut. He won his semi and 9/4fav now. Tother one 50/1 Domino Storm, each-way, also qualified. Very good final including Swift Keith, Sidaz Jack and Rio Quattro. Outsider Forest Gavin completes the line-up
|

You wernt the only one woody... one of the books still had the semi final odds up at 2 this morning...8/1 mesut + 5/1 sidaz.

Not really woody, my vic lay covered most of it
![]() QUITE peeved off... all me night of stars stuff, the flights+1, the fairyhouse entry+table, the hotel, night of stars money all looked like dodgy irish transactions. had a few quid on blake with paddies -ireland booked me aug hols flights - ryan air -ireland then went to deposit into daq and card kept getting declined. had a call at 10.30 this morn off some computerised message off barclays asking if the attempted daq money / hills last night was actually me. think they not happy...with all these gambling deposits? haha. |

I had the bank manager on my case too. I have a separate account for betting and he was frowning at all the transactions. Makes you feel guilty for betting. They cant be having you spending your own money, can they?

By:
wood, ask you bank manager if he or any of his close family play the lottery..and tell him it's 175 million to 1 of winning a large jackpot (dont know if that's true but I read it in a newspaper article).. perhaps you shoud frown on bank manager looking after your money, when he gambles on such ridiculous odds

Don't think much of the planning for Sky. Sure we would have preferred to see sprinting ace Geelo Vegas live rather than the one-paced performers in div 2 of the marathon.
Picked a couple out. I make them favourites but should get fair enough prices when all priced up tomorrow. Not a very good card but the Derby Invitation decent enough |
