Early plays:
630 Stayers. Jumped in at 7/1 Droopys Adler. Always been a favourite of mine. Irish Derby Consolation third and beat the likes of Cabra Buck, Paradise Madison and Ardfert Thunder in a heat of the Easter Cup. Duly reached the final, but withdrawn. Faded over 790yds Clonmel but that equates to 722m and having won over 642m Sittingbourne, should be fine over this 630m trip and can beat better than formlines show King Kane. The each-way hope is 20/1 Worsboro Phantom. Caught the eye at Sheffield and looks over-priced to me. Dogs. 12/1 Cluxtons Free and 14/1 Ballymac Ullo. Very hot heat and think the outright winner could well come from here. Cluxtons won the Puppy Derby over c/d last year and Ullo got impressive Irish card and trials. Bitches. Fancy Akerview Gem but waiting for better than 5/1. Jaytee Jules nearly did the job for me last time and an obvious contender, too. Played already 16/1 Macys Perfect, each-way. Interesting ex-Irish with good trial form. Good luck! |

Puppy Derby. Very happy with what would be a good 10/1 payout Farloe Nutter and task a bit easier with Droopys Norris eliminated. Got each-way pair through too, 25/1 Ballymac Bobbyjo and 40/1 Lemon Laveer. Must say Rio Quattro was an impressive winner after bolting out. Hard to beat if repeating.
Stayers. Wouldn't swop 7/1 Droopys Adler for a very nice payday. Bitches. 5/1 Akerview Gem would be nice and same price for small profit Jaytee Jules. Dogs. Failed to get a finalist. Will have to look again. |

IMO this is top top draw final
thought lemon run ok today again had a dog run across him, Hes not got the early to go with them But that might be a good thing come Friday there going to be a whack of some sort up front In that so called suspect heat all three made the final ! |

Fatty's okay. Bought me a pint in Dublin anyway. Wanted to watch the Oaks but he wouldn't stop talking!
. He has some unusual views sometimes but doesn't normally go for the obvious, so very much a worthwhile contributor on here, imo |

He doesn't have unusual views, he has plain stupid views, ill-thought out and usually presented in an unintelligible gibberish which only he seems to understand. He's ok '
![]() cos he bought woody a pint though! lol.![]() |

By:
Not just the pint, Loyal. I bought him one back!
. He's good company, likeable personality in real life. He comes across like a bull-dog chewing a wasp on here but that's deceiving. ![]() |

Still think it's a poor puppy derby this year!
Can see the bitch maybe going on to picking up competitions against all age company. |
By:
Disagree Kerrching. If Rio Quattro can run like that consistently, would be very special and think Farloe Nutter will hold his own against most. A bitch won the Wimbledon Puppy Derby. If Jaytee China wins this, a strange run of affairs could be building

rio looks special

Think i'm quids in with 7/1 Droopys Adler about a 4/7 shot but experience tells me nothing can be taken for granted in dog racing. Closest on the clock is Proud Pegs Tyler but that was beaten nearly 5 lengths by Adler in the heats!
By:
Well done with Adler woody and good luck. Can't wait to see Nutter make Laveer "look stupid". It won't help a lot though as he chases Quattro's rear end from the second bend.
Donut Dave "Creased Shirt" Clark to suffer again tonight ( Wednesday ). Not for me - they guy is waste of space. Btw - you're not Dave Clark are you FATTIE? |

Loyal Honcho although it eventually got dq from derby droopys hewitt won monmore puppy derby 2002 then went on to win derby in 2003. But as I say was dq and later given to farloe verdict. There's another one for the memory tank

Think the betting's wrong for the Dogs final. Think Lode Henry too big at 11/2. Whiterock often nips out and will be moving left from T5, hampering fav Blackstone Marco. Henry is fast and wont need a second invitation to turn the tables. Even take out each-way insurance at that price, if you like!

Had a few slurps on Sire De Grugy winnings, Italian Spaghetti Carbonara nearly ready for supper and wondering if I can get Rio Quattro beat on Friday (although money for the Derby and smart when he gets a good draw.) However, i see where Fatty is coming from, saying Ballymac Bobbyjo (T6) his undoing. Not sure Quattro will be doing a 4.17 split again, 4.30 in previous race, whereas think Bobbyjo a consistent 4.20 odd type and heading for rails. Hope it's an oi oi Farloe Nutter for a very nice payday and looking for place money Bobbyjo and Lemon Laveer, 1,2,3,4

Sidelight withdrawn from bitches final. Bad luck for connections and supporters but one less to beat for my 6/1 Akerview Gem. Would settle for the small profit Jaytee Jules, though
By:
Could be a problem with the Allsopp kennel, but hope not. Not only Sidelight, his pair in the Stayers 630m final Larky Ego and Proud Pegs Tyler both withdrawn, too
By:
Dropping like flys. Millwards Bengie (T1) out of dogs final. Not nice to benefit from another's misfortune but reckon helps my Lode Henry (T2)
By:
Sure these bookmakers make the rules up as they go along. Backed 11/2 Lode Henry, antepost dogs, 10.30am yesterday. Now with the non runner, 365 saying i'm on at sp! Lost count of the number of times I've been on a non-starter and lost my money. Same should be the same on Millwards Bengie and my original price stand, shouldn't it?
By:
BobbyJo my *rse - it's got no chance from there. Will the guy never learn. the best-boxed dog in the race is Nutter, then Quattro, then, funnily enough Laveer, and only because he's that slow he should get a decent run down.
By:
Agree Loyal, Bobby no chance but don't totally rule out he'll bustle up the fav early
![]() |
By:
The favourite is top class, as is Farley Champ inside it. The problem to both is Nutter - simple as.
By:
Going back, when does a bet become not antepost. When you get the finalists? Sure if you had to wait a week for the final and your dog scratched, you lose your money?
By:
bets placed after the final draw are no longer ante post
By:
if placed after the draw and then a withdrawal you should still ask for your money back. I did this with Hills recently on a good size amount (relatively speaking) where mine was fav in a final (I think SKY) and one of the outsiders was withdrawn..and market was reformed at lower price, and I did not want it, so went there and argued the t$ss and they cancelled bet and refunded me.
By:
Good to see you back pf

Well done Swayne - proves a point really, that they'll try it on at EVERY opportunity. Always pays to query a decision you are in doubt about.

was Droopys Odell in Trap1 at Sheff, and slow away Drropys (I think Dave) was withdrawn for the Final, I got 6/4 Odell before it shortened, market reformed at 4/5, I said get stuffed, got my money back sprinted to Bald Frod, sat down, pondered whether I should take there I think 11/10, I said no. kept my money, no bet. Odell hacked up in the Final, lol
