Taken a chance on 10/1 Farloe Nutter and 20/1 Farley Chicken. Same heat, draws not good and rate a couple of others in the heat too. However, just about qualification at this point and could see the pair very much shorter later in the competition.
Droopys Norris is a Derby dog, imo, but trainer said he may need a few runs before hitting peak (emptied out quickly run-in last time), so passing him by at this juncture. Good luck! |

By:
The RP tells us Nutter is a railer. I've yet to see it rail - it swings out wide off every bend!
|
|
By:
Honcho, very fast dog is Nutter. Wouldn't be easy for most dogs to run the bends smoothly at his pace, being only pups.
Anyone else helped themselves to 20/1 Farley Chicken each-way? Only 8/1 in places and has good potential |
|
By:
woody - I know it is a very fast dog. The whole world knows it is a very fast dog. I didn't mention anything about him running bends - I mentioned how he run when he emerged from them. Do try and keep up.

things to consider the monmore track has been running slow up to 50 spots and lately in my opinion has favoured the stronger dogs and perhaps the wide runners.has been very heavy rain today could have a say in results.

Cheers bbc
That first heat won't be carrying any of my Money , 1 middle 34 rails nutter in 5 This looks much hotter than last year Free was a good winner to be fair ! |

Loads of untapped potential. Added a few each-way for peanuts. 25/1 Ballymac Bobbyjo, 40/1 Lemon Laveer and 66/1 Droopys Hawaii. Really want Nutter or Chicken, though. It means I've got 4 in the very first heat, so summat gotta give!
. Think the outright winner could well come from this race, though!Good luck! |

Experience counts for so much here and compared to the others Nutter has loads. He should be able to follow BobbyJo around but nothing is certain with the McNair pup inside. I like the look of Blue Moment and Vatican Yogi and will be very interested in how they rise to the occasion - if at all. Droopys Norris is well known now and along with Rio Quattro, is the other I'm keen to assess/watch.

By:
McNair pup out I see - Nutter should get a good run down now.

Thought i'd done well with 20/1 with Farley Chicken but withdrawn and lost money without so much as a run, again.
Anyway, my 3 remaining in the first heat all qualified. Ballymac Bobbyjo shook clear, tired but had enough to spare from the fast-finishing Lemon Laveer. It was heart in the mouth time for Farloe Nutter at the bend. In trouble, but stayed upright and just happy to be in the semis with hopefully, a better draw there. Jaytee China was the only dog backed, into odds-on and used the inside well to lead and draw clear to win nearly 7 lengths. Nothing instant, so not sure to have things all his own way again from here on in. Jf favs Millwards Bengie and Blue Moment ruined each-other's chance on the run-up, leaving Scarface to run out a rather surprising and quickest heat winner. Bubbly Phantom dictated matters but had no answer to Droopys Vela's finishing kick. Didn't see the last two heats, so dunno. Looking at the results, Droopys Norris got beat again but qualified, unlike Droopys Jarrow and carnage in the final heat, bad baulking and a couple getting knocked over at the bend ![]() |

Heat 5 Rio Quattro ran out an excellent winner, showing good e.p. and holding line to bend before cutting across and putting race to bed. Ran middle and an easy winner in a fine 28.21. Norris never looked like imposing himslef on the race but ran on at respectable distance. 1 was well beat but rld and ran on into third.
Heat 6 Viking Jack did much the same as Quattro. Well away, held line down until ten yards from bend then cut across and putting the others to the sword. Impressive too and another fine time - 28.23.. Bailiff in 2 could make no impression and ran rls to mid - tp 3 did much the same. I spent two hours in a betting shop for the first time in about ten years this afternoon. Not as chastening an experience as I half-expected - the H ills man even gave me a cup of coffee! When I started betting they wouldn't even lend you a pencil and a betting slip was a foreign object! decent coffee too. the biggest problem wasn't reading the races, it was reading there the screen I was watching had moved to. Once I worked that out it became reasonably easy. I even fell onto a 12/1 horse winner - how about that. What it did tell, on getting online to review the results, is that there is nothing like watching yourself. Just where GBGB dug up some of their race comments I don't know. Examples: Ballymac Bobbyjo ran well but certainly didn't run on - lead was diminishing rapidly as line approached. Lemon Laveer ( better dog now than when I first weighed him up ) finsihed well ( not mentioned ) and Farloe Nutter lost second spot close home! Thatchers Champ was last at halfway and finished like a train ( not mentioned ). Scarface didn't "soon led", it always led and never looked in any danger at any time! Finally, Vatican Yogi did not show good early pace - the opposite is true. It came out really well then disappointed in the run up to the bend, looking a little paceless. GBGB results service and comments needs to be having a look at itself. |

Took 20/1 bubbly phantom lots of prob winners gl

By:
trouble-strewn race though FATTIES and form a little suspect.

By:
Laveer got ability, as seen when easily winning a hot puppy race at Coventry. Bounds along latter stages when getting a run. Got a small 40/1 each-way interest, anyway.
Flappy, Phantom raced clear. Looked home and hosed but reeled in, may improve. Good luck! |

Draw and form for semis up on Bags site.
2 qualify from each heat for final. SEMI-FINAL 1 This looks pretty straightforward, or as straightforward as puppy races can be, with Scarface in 5 favourite to lead early and set the pace and Lemon Laveer in 2 having every chance to run on and qualify. Farley Champ looks a serious dog and is not out of it in 4. Were Scarface to repeat his heat running there would be only one winner. SEMI-FINAL 2 Nutter bags the red jacket here but is not at all certain to dominate - he steps out from here so could make it a messy run up. Jaytee China won well the other day, stays on nicely and has won from trap 4 already. Blue Moment in five looks out of his depth ( for the moment ) and Vela in 6 should get another nice run down and round. SEMI-FINAL 3 Norris bags the red and now has every chance to really impress. However, the race is packed full of early pace and he'll have to do everything right. Quattro and Jack get their heat boxes again, 4 and 6, and both can fight this one out. My six for the final: Lemon Laveer Jaytee China Rio Quattro Viking Jack Droopys Vela Scarface |

Westmead hawk was a beaten finalist in 2005 , he didnt turn out to bad, lots of pups have gone on to be cat 1 winners from this competition , this years lot are as good as any in recent years , plenty of 28.60/70 dogs have not got in that speaks for itself , this is the premier uk puppy competition .

Glad my 3 all avoided each other in the semis. Hoping for Farloe Nutter most, mainly coz would win most.
Just glanced at the supporting festival competitions, Dogs, Bitches and 630. No 416 this time. Will be very interesting to see how things stand when all priced up, so will be looking when I get back from Wales, Monday lunchtime. About 2 1/2 hours in the bookies that afternoon then. Hope I get some tea and biscuits! ![]() |

As I said elsewhere Lemon Laveer looked good in overhauling Nutter on the run-in but for me the form is suspect and might not be reliable - a trouble-strewn race and a slow time. He does however look a decent dog and is worth keeping onside.
