Nice analysis R. You'r reads are always interesting and your attention to pricing is brilliant at times. I've doubled up Bolt and Pursuit, also with Sky Farloe, and done some Wimbledons with the three of them. My win record hasn't been good recently so no real confidence. Didn't know that about Jet - shame. Great night's racing.

Yeah should be a good nights racing, hopefully they have both Limerick and Wimbledon on the intertrack in SPK tonight, did last week so should again

|

Evs Skywalker Farloe in SPK wow!
![]() Get in there |
|
By:
didn't do great anyway by the looks of things, ha, general wolf was 6/4 in SPK anyway, tbh I even think that was too short but what do I know??
|
|
By:
There were a couple of funny returns from the track - Roxholme Bully 6/4, Spindles King (ok he went down by a neck) but he was too big at 10/1. But the main one was Skywalker Farloe at 6/4. WTF. He was nailed on.

Has the draw been made for round three?

ffs I thought my evs was good

I was surprised last night at Stone Boy King showing such back straight pace and also, at Hot Pursuit giving up such a back straight lead – I thought HP was nailed-on when he led into the straight. Amazing to me- maybe expected by others.
Skywalker Mandy was a revelation. Look at the ground she made up from her appalling start. Immaterial now but I thought she could have progressed. If you check the start you’ll notice two kids clambering up to look over the wall just as the hare was onto the traps. I am convinced they caught her attention as she timed her exit - she went to go and head-butted the trap door! Imo she got distracted. It could easily happen again – the track officials need to look at that in my opinion. It is odd how Priceless Rumble’s performances at Limerick are so inferior to his Shelbourne runs, but they are, and consistently so. A great run from TSR – love to see him make the final and get a draw! Priceless Bolt – least said the better. I had him as my value bet of the night – how wrong can you be? De Real McCoy ran an almost identical sectional, time and race, to his first behind Skywalker Farloe, but won this time – very consistent. As if SF needed any recommendation! I was impressed by Rockview Turbo – buffeted badly at the first, heels clipped at the third but no loss of ambition. Ran well I thought. General Wolf, or Rambo as I call him. “ Don’t push me”! Great strength – will be very tough to beat here. SF was just a joy to watch. Whatever beats him will win the Derby for me. It may be Roxholme Bully – railers won’t want to outside him on the run up. I again thought Farloe Trent ran well. Bully never really looked in any danger though. I thought Cabra Buck might experience first bend woes here and so it turned out. Unlucky. Snowy ran a terrific race to win here ( got an inside run and made the most of it ) – not at all trouble-free either - and runs these bends quite beautifully – could make the final. Shame for those who went out here, a very, very competitive heat and lots of trouble in behind. A poor night for me – Priceless Bolt well beaten and Skywalker Farloe and Rockview Turbo left alone, and, why I didn’t bet Roxholme Bully is only slightly less mysterious than why I failed to lump on Chicago at Wimbledon!!!. Looking forward to the next round. |

Anybody any opinions on Hot Pursuit the other night??
I will give mine anyway, to me he was chasing nowt out of the 2nd and more interested with Hawaii Kinsale on his outside thus allowing Stone Boy King to go up the inside and clear. |
|
By:
I couldn't work it out at all R. I tried to convince myself that he had his heels clipped but I think I'm with you - he seemed not to be interested too much in being in front and it was wandering out to linger a bit that caused it. Shame, because he can run. Have you watched the start of the race again? Two young lads jump up onto the wall and show their heads over the top just as the hare is coming to traps. I am convinced it was that movement that caught the eye of Mandy in trap 6, causing her to fluff her lines. What a run she put in too.

Would be a slightly concerned if you're on Bully or Farloe. This Mind The Net can be sharp early and although both impressive last Saturday, the favs might not get all their own way. Farloe broke well enough but thought would have shown more pace up but his middle gears are tremendous.
Sugar Ray didn't turn left. Seemed he more like gradually came in and super run to turn second to the flying Riptide. Latter still a player if staying on a bit better, imo. Happy enough with my outsiders at this stage: 33/1 Riptide, Trent, Pursuit |
|
By:
You where happy with Hot Pursuit woody? Have ya seen the race?
I missed it live as I was late into Shelbourne (again) but thought the piss was being taken out of me when told he led and got beat by Stone Boy King, he ran rubbish and looked to have other things on his mind out of the 2nd bend Still there though but after what appeared a great run in the 1st round I was very disappointed |
|
By:
Riptide at 14/1 with boyles is a very decent bet e/w 1/4 ist 4, should have no bother in quilifying for the s/finals, there could be one or two surprices in the other heats. Goodluck with your bets Wood.
|
|
By:
I was less impressed with Riptide last time, looked to be coming to the end of his tether to me. Imo he has it tough here with two good and one decent stayers chasing him up the back straight. If they catch him by the 4th he could fade out. Troika made up eight lengths on him the other night! Not a win or a place bet for me - here or for the comp.

I see what ya mean by the 2 kids jumping up on the wall as the traps are opening in the first heat the other night but don't think it had anything to do with what happened Mandy, she has a habit of missing it badly at times anyway but just lost her back legs on coming out hence making a total mess of it, seems to make a mess of it every time we have bet her around SPK too
![]() Looking at it now and looking at the draw i think there is one in there that is massively overpriced, will have to play as do have a real soft spot for her anyway all the favours she has done us since last December. As for Skywalker Farloe i was delighted with what he showed up the other night, it was more than i thought he would to be honest as he ain't great to the corner at all, if he can turn 2nd for the rest of the Leger [seriously doubt it] he will win it. Worried about him being outside Mind The Net again though as he was a pain in the ass getting in his way up and into the back almost causing Skywalker Farloe to stumble on entering the back as he had to check inside. It's a bloody stinking heat as well, he will need a clear to be qualifing. |

Not seen Pursuit race yet but the dogs had plenty of races and never noticed much wrong, so far. Did run very well previously and that may prove the norm?

Will 365 be the only crowd up this week with prices?
|
|
By:
only 365 chopper
in case i get accused of aftertiming i was referring to Locnamon Bridie in my previous post As for tonights heats heats i think they've got them pretty much spot on can't find a bet in heat 1 [Hawaii Kinsale matched my price to 100%, the rest where shorter] heat 2 is pretty much the same [Jaytee Hellcat matched my price to 100%, the rest again shorter] heat 3 is the interesting one as i think Ringtown Snowy is shockingly short, Skywalker Farloe is the one who is overpriced in my view, i made him a 11/4 shot so 7/2 is too big, had Bully 6/4 and Wolf 4/1 so they match my tissue heat 4 again i think they have got pretty much right, made Stone Boy King 9/2 so the 5/1 slightly beats it and Ardrahan Zebo matched my tissue but the rest where shorter, Locnamon Bridie i made 11/4 and they go 5/2 so not much in it |
|
By:
I think Locnamon Bridie, in heat 4, is a great bet tonight. She should be able to beat Stone Boy down, unhindered, and, thereafter, I have no doubts about her catching Riptide. Heat 3 is for watching but I am a great fan of SkyFar and he should certainly qualify. Who wins this one is a different matter - it should give us some pointers to the semi and final though. Farloe Trent didn't trap as fast last time but his pace from the fin.line to the first bend was amazing. I can't see him not being involved tonight and, if he cuts across first I feel he'll win too. TSR is plotted in heat 1 and looks a good thing for a nice run as Kinsale steps out a bit from the box. At likely cramped odds ( how did he get hammered and start favourite for the Derby from trap 2 by the way - with Vic in 1 and wanting out to lane 3 ) he isn't worth betting really. Qualifying will do for him.
Locnamon Bridie - best. Farloe Trent - next best. |
|
By:
He was hammered off the boards for the Derby as the belief weas that Ballymac Vic who usually flies out from 1 would beat him at boxes, lead up and move off leaving Sugar Ray who was the only real railer in the final the whole inside to himself. As it happened Vic didn't smash and the 2 of them ruined each other the whole way up the run up.

Got my finger in enough pies antepost, so will just watch how it pans out, presuming there are pictures with Shelbourne again?
In Dublin, Razldazl Marilyn and Airlie Dazzle renew old rivalry. Still got a soft spot for Marilyn. Interesting bitches race. Sure Rockburst Beryl would be more than good enough, if fit enough and hope grand old servant Deanridge Viking moves well in the lucky last. Good luck! |
|
By:
Busy night in Ireland. Final of the Gold Cup at Drumbo looks between re-named Aero Nemesis and rudely named Atitboy, now Graduation Day gone. Atitboy should be okay as long as theyre not line abreast at the bend!
.In the Select Stakes at Waterford, got 8/1 Farloe Calvin antepost. Sure to be too fast for vast majority and if keeping going, chances. Some interesting contenders though, not least Vanrooney, Lassa Expedition and Carrowgarriff |
|
By:
I know that R - I saw the race like you did! How anyone could expect Vic to smash, only 97 or 98% fit, is beyond me. That's my point. I certainly didn't.

Spindles King nr in 2nd quarter

Cool - thanks for that, took a price.

Sorry to say, think you'll be on at sp then Honcho. Unless, they re-form the market and you amend your bet

You're right. Never mind, winning is the first priority.

Amazing run from Jaytee Hellcat. Never thought i'd see a leading Farloe Trent passed like that and drew miles clear!
|
|
By:
29.31, whoosh!
|
|
By:
Sugar Ray beaten at long odds on. Only a length behind back straight so Rockview Turbo must have stayed well. 29.58
|
|
By:
Hellcat broke Skywalker Puma's track record. Doesn't surprise me having watched it live and seemed to get checked back slightly off second bend! Absolutely brilliant! Sure fired up!
|
|
By:
At Waterford, All About Ya beat Holycross Gerry and Vanrooney. Lassa Expedition out
|
|
By:
Another super run: Roxholme Bully, 29.41. Looked like Farloe Skywalker was going to struggle well behind early, but did a lot of running to beat General Wolf for second. Surprisingly Ringtown Snowy run out of it
|

By:
Select Stakes, my Farloe Calvin won his semis. Don't think 8/1 for final now?
