Obviously a very decent dog but he does just seem to lob around, with no real early pace, and no finishing kick either.  A dog with great potential who seems to be staying that way - i.e., still a dog with great potential.
I'm interested to see how North Bound, Spindles King, Farloe Trent and Cabra Buck ( had a punishing Derby ) go tonight.  We'll have a better idea once we see them all with form on their card.

Obviously, the top four Roxholme Bully, Tyrur Sugar Ray, Cabra Buck and Skywalker Farloe are all of the highest order, but prepared to look elsewhere at this stage. Trouble is others got questions to answer like Ardfert Thunder and North Bound, so by-passing those too! Gone for some under a slight cloud also but thought might as well go for the bigger prices with 25/1 Melodys Diamond and 33/1 apiece Farloe Trent and Hot Pursuit, all each-way.

Considered back-in-Ireland Bridge Ruth and although she reached the 4th round of last year's Irish Derby, no match for Tyrur Sugar Ray in those days and dont think anything's changed. Another very high quality bitch Locnamon Bridie would be a big player at best and could improve throughout the competition. However, needs to do so after being sidelined.

Good luck!

Yeah - he came from behind once - when four others bunched up between 3 and 4 and the leader faded.  El Flutter is the goods!

Thanks Honcho. Nice to see old touted dog Cashen Cocoa doing well, too.

Very close for fastest winner first round between Rockview Turbo and Riptide Movement with the former just shading up. They will move up the betting ladder now.

Think Skywalker Farloe looking decent at this stage. I see Tyrur Sugar Ray terrible draw again

I liked Skywalker Farloe's run last night and also Farloe Trent - both look useful but have to improve a little.  Roxholme Bully should be a fresh dog and TSR keeps getting slaughtered in the trap draw but has to be kept onside.  I don;t know if General Wolf has more to show but he looked the part to me too.  Good luck all.

Quite like Riptide Movement's 25/1 price. Not exactly fast away but showed fine pace up to beat strong Melodys Diamond and antepost fav Roxholme Bully on merit, imo, in virtually joint fastest time last Saturday

Yeah, I saw it.  Three of the four seemed ok but the fourth was well too far ahead.  The guy's on it though and it's now aired in public so the hare-driver will need to be looking to his laurels, so to speak.

They will be very short ( if priced at all ) but I rate Priceless Bolt as a good thing and Rockview Turbo and Skywalker Farloe not far behind. Hot Pursuit looks very well placed in his heat too. I also think that Bridge Ruth and Cabra Buck are in danger of going out.

Just want to see how this cuts and pastes.  If ok I'll put the others up.  The prices are pre competition and post 1st round.

Irish St Leger Round 2 Heat 1 08:30 (550 Yds. Flat)  (Race Grade : AA0)

Trap 1     HOT PURSUIT        25/1   25/1   The ante-post betting would have us believe that Hawaii Kinsale is the best in
Trap 2     STONE BOY KING    100/1  200/1   this field but Hot Pursuit looks well placed, with two moderates on his right.
Trap 3     CARRIGOON ASH     100/1  100/1   His 29.72 reads very well here. Kinsale finds it hard to actually
Trap 4     HAWAII KINSALE     16/1  16/1    get his head in front but will never get an easier chance. I liked Mandy’s
Trap 5     PIPPY             100/1  150/1   first run.  She stayed very well, tracked well - wanted out from five so should
Trap 6     SKYWALKER MANDY    50/1  50/1    like 6, and may improve.  Pippy is early pacy but will find this very tough.

Trap 1     STATESIDE TROIKA  33/1  66/1 Riptide Movement has recently shown improved form and confirmed it in his first round
Trap 2     REIGNING MONARCH 100/1  100/1 run here, blitzing out and sewing up the heat by the 2nd bend, courtesy of a fine
Trap 3     SCOLARI EXPRESS   50/1  66/1  sectional. The bookies were certainly impressed, slashing his ante-post from 66’s to
Trap 4     RIPTIDE MOVEMENT  66/1  20/1  20 to 1!  Scolari is quick and even from three takes a step out so Rip needs to be
Trap 5     TYRUR SUGAR RAY   10/1  12/1  smart. TSR gets another desperate draw but can slip in behind then get to the rail.
Trap 6     PRICELESS RUMBLE  25/1  25/1  Rumble flatters to deceive here and hasn’t ( in the past ) been half the dog at Limerick as at Shelbourne.   4 5 3

Trap 1     PRICELESS BOLT  33/1  20/1 Layers took note of Bolt’s excellent 1st round heat – showed terrific early and stayed Trap 2     TYFORD TIP      50/1  66/1  - and slashed his odds in half.  He looks a cast-iron bet to win this heat. 3 and 4
Trap 3     DE REAL MCCOY   25/1  40/1  might make a race of it early but I expect Apollo and Zebo to run into the places.
Trap 4     KEELOGS DIAMOND 100/1  100/1  Bolt would be NAP of the round for me.  1 6 5
Trap 5     SKYWALKER APOLLO 50/1  66/1

Trap 1     CUTTERS BLUE      250/1 150/1  This is a decent heat with some fair stayers involved.  First view I thought that
Trap 2     SUNSET KING       50/1  66/1    5 was sure to lead 6 early and put the race to bed, and I still think so, with
Trap 3     CASHEN COCOA      100/1  66/1   either 3 or 4 running on for third spot – probably 4.   5 6 4
Trap 4     JAYTEE HELLCAT     20/1  25/1
Trap 5     ROCKVIEW TURBO     33/1  20/1
Trap 6     REFUGE OF SINNER   33/1  50/1

1 MELODYS DIAMOND   25/1  25/1  Three drifters in the ante-post book makes this look easy, and it probably is but Melody’s
2 GENERAL WOLF      16/1  12/1  dreadful habit of pulling out middle on lids rise may hamper Wolf in the run up.  Eagle is
3 SIDAZ EAGLE       33/1  40/1  well boxed in 3 and holds his line to the bend. Jet and Bodie have not impressed the layers,
4 SKYWALKER JET     33/1  50/1  who have pushed their prices out, in response to their first runs. Can’t fathom why in the
5 CROMPAUN JAMESY  100/1  66/1  case of Jet as his run was effectively his trial and he can improve on an already decent
6 LOOKOUTFORBODIE  100/1  150/1 time. He stays too and stayers always have hope.  Bodie looks, if not outclassed, certainly           well up against it, to make a qualifying spot.   2 3 1

1 KISSES FOR CLODA   20/1  40/1  Four of these have been pushed out by layers, which tells us plenty. Farloe in 6 is some way
2 JACKSALLSTAR       33/1  66/1   ahead of these, has his box and the resources to ride out any bumps and shoves he may
3 BARTLEMY KING     100/1  100/1 suffer, courtesy of the concertina effect which will/may ensue from Cloda on the inside.  He
4 LUGHILL JOHN      66/1   80/1  will of course be no sort of price. I think that Lughill John will somehow find a run up
5 MIND THE NET      33/1  50/1  the rail and maybe Mind The Net will find this easier than his heat and make the third spot.
6 SKYWALKER FARLOE  14/1   9/1    6 ( Next best ) 4 5

1 ROXHOLME BULLY    8/1   7/1   Bully has won from red and with his sectional should negotiate a run down here. Once there
2 BOUNDFORTHESTARS 100/1  250/1 and inside, must surely get a great run.  Will be kept company by emerging Gavins Legacy,
3 GAVINS LEGACY    20/1  20/1   Cabra Buck and Farloe in 6.  Farloe needs to get a run round 1st and 2nd or it’s curtains
4 CABRA BUCK       12/1   14/1  for him, as he doesn’t stay as well as the other three mentioned.  Cabra isn’t too
5 SKYWALKER LEGEND 66/1  100/1  well boxed and may suffer from Gavin’s step out.  Jury out here but Bully is well-placed
6 FARLOE TRENT     33/1  33/1   to win this, with a clear rails run likely.   1 3 6 .  Cabra could go out in my opinion.

1 SPINDLES KING   50/1  33/1  This is as good a race as is on all night!  Four seriously talented and experienced dogs, in
2 RINGTOWN SNOWY  25/1  33/1  2,3,4 and 5 and two up-and-comers in 1 and 6. All good dogs and a shame they’ve all copped
3 ARDFERT THUNDER 20/1  16/1  the same heat! You have to think that one of the better dogs is going out, but who?
4 BRIDGE RUTH     33/1  33/1  Bridge Ruth, courtesy of her inferior sectional pace, is my bet.  Some serious dogs inside will
5 LOCNAMON BRIDIE 33/1  40/1  find her out I think. I really fancy Basil to ping and put the cat amongst the pigeons.
6 GUNITE BASIL    25/1  20/1  Spindles could do likewise inside. When fancied dogs go out early, this is the kind of heat
                              that puts them out!  I see 3, 4 and 5 all going out here.   2 6 1
My views, if only to provoke some discussion.  Good event.

Heat 1 - Hot Pursuit @ 6/5 (love his draw and he ran a screamer in round 1. once he comes away a bit better which he should as he is usually good at boxes he leads the inside around, actually think he will lead around and then the race is over once he shows the same as he did last week, he looks to be running into form to me.)

Heat 2 - no idea, if forced maybe Stateside Trioka @ 6/1 (Sugar Ray we all know is turning straight left from 5, you'd think Priceless Rumble then has a great draw but he moved the exact same way in round 1. Riptide Movement in 4 has to be good at boxes to avoid those outside him and then i don't think he is guaranteed to clear Scolari Express, he don't stay that well himself. Stateside Trioka has a lovely draw on the fence, should be leading the 2 up outside him and with possible trouble behind [he'd need it] could have the run of the race.)

Heat 3 - Priceless Bolt @ 6/4 (love his draw as well, will have no problem leading up Tyford Tip on his outside and should have enough to lead De Real McCoy and Keelogs Diamond being drawn inside them, if he goes around he wins. Not sure Ardrahan Zebo is guaranteed to clear Skywalker Apollo so really think the top is plotted up.)

Heat 4 - Rockview Turbo @ 5/2 (dog is a bit of an enigma, moves in run up at SPK yet last week in LMK he moves off from 4, if he does the same again he is a bet @ 5/2 - he will have no bother leading up Refuge Of Sinner and Hellcat surely can't clear what's inside him so Turbo should be gone, even if 1,2 or 3 led him he should bury them 2 to 3.)

Heat 5 - General Wolf @ EVS has got to be taken on, pity no markets on here
(puzzled as to how he is that short, Melodys Diamond in 1 will move right and straight into him so you have got to be worried about him getting a clear run up. Melodys Diamond herself i thought would be fav, she has a right chance to lead up both General Wolf and Sidaz Eagle on her outside and i'd be surprised if either of them could pick her up. Skywalker Jet showed massive boot in round 1 and is overpriced @ 15/2 and could go around but he is a red card waiting to happen, got card marked at Kilkenny and then assaulted Knockglass Billy a yard after the line in a sprint at SPK, he was lucky it was not 2 strides earlier. anyway think the fav is an awful price and Melodys Diamond or Skywalker Jet would be the bet.)

Heat 6 - Skywalker Farloe @ 8/13, think he wins but it's not a bet at that price (he looks to have a fine draw, Kisses For Cloda should take them along but Skywalker Farloe can turn in a good pitch in this heat and then he would have too much for Cloda and pick him up around the bottom bends.)

Heat 7 - Cabra Buck @ 5/2, wanna take Bully on @ odds on
(just not convinced about Bully recently although they say he needed the run last week, he obviously loves the place having won the big puppy comp earlier in the year and if coming away and going around should win but i'm willing to take him on with Buck who i think has a nice draw too, he will be mid, mid to wide run up and will have no problem beating Skywalker Legend up and should have too much for Farloe Trent up who don't usually come away as he did in round 1, i thought Buck ran well in round 1 overcoming trouble to hit the front on the 3rd before getting done close home. Gavins Legacy and Farloe Trent ran well last week but i can't see them leading both Bully and Buck thus i can't see them beating them.)

Heat 8 - ????? Bridge Ruth @ 13/2 token selection
(really tough heat, Ringtown Snowy is nuts and has mental pace, probably does not have enough to the corner though and may have too much too do, Ardfert Thunder is not showing enough up either recently in my opinion, Locnamon Bridie is too far out i'd say and the same with Gunite Basil. The 2 of them could be a problem for Bridge Ruth as they move inwards but i thought she ran well in round 1 after getting bother run up and she can come away a lot better, if she does get it right at boxes i can see her taking a lot of beating. Spindles King is much better drawn and is interesting but not @ 4/1.)

Let's see how i get on @ Limerick Laugh not a track i usually play at.

Think Hot Pursuit, Priceless Bolt and Rockview Turbo are a nice treble @ around 18s
