Day 2, Ladies' Day
Today's Bets: 7/2 Pont Alexandre. As highlighted in the initial post last December 12th, fancied this one but didnt know which race he was going for. The 8/1 for this went the day before i struck my bet, so obviously feel a bit cheated but still wasnt 100% sure it would be the Neptune. 5/1 Taquin De Seuil. Money back saver. Been following him and rate him the danger over The New One. 6/1 Bobston Bob. Only small. Evens Sprinter Sacre. Could never be that price and hope Coral pay for it. May be one of the greatest 2 mile chasers ever. Some statement that when you consider there's been Master Minded, Moscow Flyer, Viking Flagship etc. 6/1 Sizing Europe. Money back saver. Knows what it takes to win this event and surely the only conceivable danger. Good luck! |

4m - rival d'estruval, godsmejudge, rose of the moon
Neptune - I'm against pont alexandre, betting 5/4 shots at cheltenham that have been running on testing ground is madness, the old course will defo suit the new one, its got plenty of boot that horse RSA - unioniste QM - sprinter sacre but not at price GL all, you'll need it if you are behind going into the last 3 ![]() |

i had that one swayne to be fair i didnt blame her at all horse just idled up the hill in front
think shes as good as the boys as a rule but thats just my opinion |
|
By:
fair enough I dont have an opinion on her ability generally, but when the winner went past her, she pressed Tofino and horse came back and rallied and the winner wasn't then getting away...if she'd ridden Tofino flat out to the line she would have won imo. easy to say I know, but they said after she was shaking her head when they applauded her in the ring for 2nd place as if to say "sorry I fecked it up" - poor performance from her today that she will remember for a long time I reckon

Yeah, isnt she riding Seabass? Chances!
Shade disappointed with Pont Alexandre. Not every day you got a decent bet on at 7/2, a 6/4 poke and Boston Bob would have won if not falling at the last, jockey rode him as if no fence there! .Sprinter Sacre to the rescue! ![]() |

not bad today, 2 score draws though

Not every day you got a decent bet on at 7/2, a 6/4 poke and Boston Bob would have won if not falling at the last, jockey rode him as if no fence there! Crazy. Sprinter Sacre to the rescue! Excited Stop talking utter nonsence, Paul Townend gave Boston Bob a fine ride, he produced the horse to win the race and the horse simply put down on him at the last [and i had him backed to win thousands]. |

Disagree PF...
![]() I think Townend was over confident and thought he would win by 10 lengths... He was cruising so he let him go, it's great when it works but I think the horse got lonely. I don't know why he took him so close to the wing of the fence either. ![]() I still think that he would have won had he jumped it, the other horses closed because he slowed towards the Fence... I'm not blaming Townend for going so soo, but in hindsight, I bet he wishes that he had waited until the 2nd last to Go!!!... I backed him, not for thousands... 4 tenner s!!! One of the little people...... ![]() |

I don't always mind horses getting lonely..... Back in Focus!!!

Jockey seemed to flap at the last, imo, but not saying that's set in stone. Very unlucky PF, i believe with Pont Alexandre, too. You really should have been quids in. Thought i would have done well today but only broke even, give or take a squid

Day 3, St Patrick's Day
Just 2, main antepost horses for me: 12/1 Close House 7/1 Hunt Ball. Both races very competitive though and likely to need quite a generous slice of luck! Dynaste the shortie for the day in the opener but not a sure thing if the ground continues to dry out. Peanuts Champion Court, now no Sizing Europe in the Ryanair. World hurdle very hard. Ignored the favourites and had a few tiny pops, Smad Place, Bog Warrior, Peddlers Cross. Good luck! |

Last year in the Albert Bartlett everyone was giving Ruby Walsh abuse for his ride on Boston Bob saying why did he hold him up as he is a stayer after he rocketed up the hill for 2nd on the stiffer New Course. Yesterday Paul took it up turning for home to make use of his stamina. The horse was hanging towards the inside rail on the run to the last and when he should have jumped he simply put down, no jockey would have been able to do anything about that. As sickening as it was i thought the jockey produced him perfectly to win the race.
As for Pont Alexandre well he was not good enough on the day. They didn't set a strong enough pace to give him a chance. Either Ruby made a **** up [very unlikely] or the horse couldn't go any faster [more likely], he took forever to shake off Moore's outsider and the writing was on the wall then. Anyway he is a 3m chaser in the making [while The New One is a Champion Hurdle possible next year] and i'd imagine will be made a short enough favourite for next years RSA Chase already. Everything was going along beautfiully until the 2nd race yesterday and then i got a kick in the nuts. Still i've been freerolling since day 1 ended so everything else is a bonus, just don't want anymore last fence fallers!!!! |

totally agree with PF, boston bob is an OUT AND OUT STAYER, why would he want to hang onto him? paul wasn't flapping on him
you wanna watch more lady amateur rider races the horse just went through the top, and we know you don't get away with that round therethe neptune went exactly as I said it would, nobody who lost on that race was unlucky |

Lots of very big-price winners. Said needed luck. Close House and Hunt Ball couldnt jump, from what i could see. Those PP stickers on Hunt Ball's back-end didnt help, imo. |

Would have been a nice surprise for you Case.
Day 4, Gold Cup Day Big day for me with 7/1 Long Run trying to rake in £192, nothing like last year though when looking at a cool £1k for the Fly-Run double. Going to be hard though. Also decent bets: 10/1 Far West, 8/1 Cotton Mill (in the absence of Forgotten Voice), 5/1 At Fishers Cross, 20/1 Cottage Oak. Will be watching Monmore finals, too. Got 15/2 Cluxtons Free, 8/1 and 12/1 Ballyard Buddy/Jazz Tilly and 6/1 Romeo Recruit. Very heavy day with Springbok tonight. Good luck! |
