yes i know that, im going to the cross shortly but why are yards still used at all ? and generally if fortune is introducing it he says 525 YARDS N3 UNRACED STAKE, THE FAVOURITE'S IN ONE, could this be something to to with this discussion ?
This argument was done on global greyhounds 10 years ago, cant remember the outcome, but i know woody is correct, anyway pointless argument unless you are flapping |

At 50/1, Fairhill Noel finds himself about 20th in the betting, despite recording the 2nd fastest winning time in the heats. Must be worth a few bob each-way?

I guess i'll be in the minority looking forward to these races most on Dec 1st

Bad situation if you where on Jackallstar, draw is a bit lobsided with the 2nd and 3nd quarter looking weaker than the 1st and 4th.
|
|
By:
PF do you think Rockchase needs outside or is he just clumsy and all over the place? I want to punt Droopys Adler in that heat but think there could be carnage on the run up
|
|
By:
Yeah you'd have to think he is better off away from the fence. I don't really know what to make of the race, no idea what will go around in front or how it's likely to pan out. I made Adler fav but it's a race i won't play unless someone goes a lot bigger on something than i made it.
|

By:
Paradise Madison just awesome again. Great commentary on the race as well!
|
|
By:
Does anyone have any halfway splits for the stake? I'm thinking of punting Skywalker, he must have been 5 of Melodys Gamble out of the 2nd bend and got to 3.5 lengths of him, his lack of early is a concern though
|
|
By:
He ran on real well last weekend, thought he was very eyecatching. Like you say though he's always going to be behind to the corner. On Saturday you'd imagine he will be turning behind 1,2,3 and 4 and if he misses it he has 6 coming across him. He's so strong though you'd hope he runs on to qualify at the least. Don't have any half way sectionals for ya.

1. Paradise Madison
2. Droopys Adler 3. Rockchase Reem 4. Odyssey 5. Leamaneigh Turbo 6. Airforce General (m) 1. Fear Big Star 2. Scolari Express 3. Leamaneigh Story 4. Ballyhill City 5. Farloe Buddy 6. Kilmeen Bill (w) Leamaneigh Story and Fear Big Star really stepped up last night, always thought they had big runs in them and they are getting better every week although they are probably in the tougher heat in my opinion. Got a big slice of luck with Leamaneigh Turbo getting through due to Skywalker Legend getting his card held. Paradise Madison ran well after getting first bend trouble and is plotted up in the semi final, please draw him middle in the final!! ![]() |
|
By:
saw madison weaving about behind quicker starters at longford in the summer, seems to have come on a bomb since then. Odyssey could get out quicker and maybe lead to the third bend wandering about as it does, but it dont get home so madison looks a good thing .... but they are pups

buckleys is well touted here (no change there then !) in the second semi-final but looks to have bottomed out now, will be surprised to see it in the final, it would be a great run from 3 if it did get through !

What is the point in Stan James?? The have priced up the comp now and have 13 dogs quoted, yes 13 dogs quoted at the semi final stage
It gets worse though, they have Airforce Fear and Lyreen Legend quoted, Airforce Fear was a NR in the quarter finals and Lyreen Legend finished last in it's quarter final. I know i like Leamaneigh Turbo but they have him quaoted @ 6/1 when he is 50/1 elsewhere. They won't take a bet and anyway if that is going to be the effort they put into pricing it up seriously what is the point. |
|
By:
Laughable, but i normally like 365. Fair and earliest odds on nearly every competition for my little bets.
Already with 3/1 Madison, i can afford the luxury of having a 7/2 bet Story. Very confident i will collect ![]() |
|
By:
I can't find a bet on the semi finals with the off course books, i made Madison a 2/5 shot as well and the rest are all too short with Droopys Adler way too short but i suppose they're avoiding e/w bets with him.
The 2nd semi is the same in that i think they have it right. I went: 7/2 9/2 2/1 16/1 9/2 40/1 so i can't be playing on that race either |

The track is such a speedway at the mo and by no means am I knocking the dog, what a run! The management need to do something about, times are not comparable week on week, they need to introduce going ratings or it's going to turn into a farce

A minimum of 30 fast, and at times probably quicker. Some dog though all the same..............

have backed story and adler ew 1st 4 wot price they finish 5th and 6th i could stop a train at the moment
|
|
By:
Might not have been best value at the time of backing but point is, got a good bet on a 3/1 ticket Paradise Madison, about a 4/9 chance. Bets similar to this just havent been coming off this year but with money back Leamaneigh Story, its difficult to see anything else getting into it
|

Chopper76 What is everyone's views on the winning heat times?
i think madisons was a one off, i bet the trainer is in a right quandry now, somewhere between "Has it peaked too early ?" and "WTF did I do right in the last couple of weeks so that I can repeat it when I want !" ![]() |
|
By:
This was way beyond a joke before last night but now it's laughable
.I couldnt envisage defeat for both Madison and Story, prize going to a 25/1 shot, hot on the heels of a 20/1 shot winning the Essex Vase. What on Earth have i got to do to get an antepost bet up in big race final? .Well, this result just puts my betting year in a nutshell, unbelieveable! .Jumeirah Dubai and Borna Gem must be a million! ![]() |

He ran on to the pick up and seemed alright, Ollie will have him checked out no doubt and he will be left off now until either the Gold Cup or Easter Cup.

Paradise Madison emerged unscathed from his horrific looking fall in Saturday’s final of the Comerford Cakes National Puppy Stake at Shelbourne Park. Both owner Dave Buckley and trainer Ollie Bray yesterday expressed their relief that the new Shelbourne 525 record breaker appeared to be in top form following the incident. The dog is now set to have a break before returning to action in either the SIS Live Gold Cup or the Easter Cup. However, both owner and trainer were of the opinion that the dog’s days of running over 525 yards are at an end. Given the dog’s obvious suitability for distances further than 525 yards, one wonders if he can add the 550 yards record to his amazing 27.67 mark for the 525 yards. Given his style of running one would even go so far as to reckon that this brilliant son of Head Bound and Paradise Alanna could well go on to claim the 550, 575 and 600 yard records. Now, wouldn’t that be something? |
