arry so your saying that a lightly raced dog returning from injury not entitled to find 20 spots in 4 runs? And has nothing to do with it? You been dog racing? 1st race entitled to lead easy as bunny runner ideal, ps didn't back it thought it would be picked up, next race it had trap 1 in a race of non stayers and had every chance to lead. Price put me off but I did do the trio which paid 80 quid if that is ok lol? Bad example really arry come on!!!
A better choice of dog of bucklands to look at was supreme amigo on bags at 4/7, no dog should go off odds on, on the bags! Ok looked a bet but not 4/7 someone somewhere had on. Parc who do you think is trainer I have missed? It puzzles me! Irishone - kyme is fairly new maybe a year now? Not 100 percent. Well on been training at Hg on / off for years!!! |

YOU NEED TO READ A LITTLE MORE IRISHONE
I HAVE NOT SAID HE WAS SACKED AT ANY POINT ON THESE THREADS I WAS SIMPLY ASKING WHY HE HAD TO LEAVE, BUT NOBODY HAS THE ANSWER, WHICH AIDS THE CONSPIRACY THEORIES. IN MY OPINION A TRAINERS JOB IS TO HAVE AS MANY WINNERS AS POSSIBLE AND BET THEM WHENEVER HE FEELS THE DOGS GOT A CHANCE, AFTER ALL ITS A GAMBLING INDUSTRY. ITS UP TO THE RACING MANAGER TO DECIDE WHETHER A TRAINER DOES IT FAIRLY, AND THERES WHERE I FEEL THE PROBLEM LIES ,FOR ANY SPORT TO BE A SUCCESS YOU NEED A GOOD REFEREE, BUT IN MY OPINION H.G. HAS A VERY POOR REF AND IF BAGS PULL THE PLUG WE ALL KNOW H.G. WOULD STRUGGLE TO SURVIVE,BUT DO THE GRA REALLY CARE? |
By:
"FOR ANY SPORT TO BE A SUCCESS YOU NEED A GOOD REFEREE, BUT IN MY OPINION H.G. HAS A VERY POOR REF"
I agree, what the ref did here is sent one bloke off whilst the others have carried on as before thats why I am saying the one they sent off was hard done by. |
By:
Iris nice comparison to football about poor ref and I agree. But John Pearce was like when Roy keane taunted haaland broke his leg. I could tell you stories about Pearce even you would be surprised at. Unfortunately cannot print them. Problem we now have is that we all of a sudden got other trainers doing their best to replicate them. Funny enough although last tonight AzzurrI Miley ran in its second open race tonight. Not bad considering Pearce had it 0/16 in a6!!!!!

Stuffed wrote-IN MY OPINION A TRAINERS JOB IS TO HAVE AS MANY WINNERS AS POSSIBLE AND BET THEM WHENEVER HE FEELS THE DOGS GOT A CHANCE, AFTER ALL ITS A GAMBLING INDUSTRY.
Im not for one second saying that anyone has done this but these rules seem to disagree with your above quote Stuffed and maybe this was partly the reason but again its only speculation from me. Rule 184A Licensed Official attached to Racecourse not to bet there A Licensed Official shall not make any bets on any Race at any Racecourse to which he/she is attached. Rule 184B Owner, Licence Holder not to bet It shall be a breach of these Rules of Racing for: a Trainer to lay any Greyhound, under his/her care or control a Kennel Employee, who is or has been registered under Rule 9, to lay any Greyhound, under the care or control of the Trainer for whom he/she is or was employed, whilst so employed and for a period of 21 Days after ceasing to be so an Owner to lay any Greyhound he/she owns any other person, who has provided a service or services connected with a Trainer’s business of training Greyhounds and within 21 Days of his/her. Again these are the rules so it would contradict that a trainer should bet when he/she thinks they should win.Again not my opinion just the rules and as i say maybe the officials had reasonable doubt and exercised their own rules regarding trainers betting. The problem with this is anyone could be betting these dogs or any dogs and the trainers has to take the rap and that includes the racing managers and the likes. |
By:
The rules you quote do not prevent a trainer backing his dogs.
The first one relates to RACECOURSE OFFICIALS - Rm, Stewards, Starter, etc. The second is about LAYING - not backing. There is nothing in the Rules about trainers/ kennel staff backing dogs from the kennel |

Listen you lot grab your ears and pull your head as hard as you can out of your r s's
There is a fellah over here called Dermot Weld Every year he comes to Galway Races This year he won 20 odd races out of 50 Every one of them was gambled on The IRISH reaction - "THE MAN'S A GENIUS" YOUR reaction would be - somehow "HE's BREAKING THE RULES" Dermot Weld sits on the Committee for the Galway Races He is such a brilliant man at exploiting the Rules That they brought him in to help make them !!!!! NOW why cant you BRITS do the same ???? Pearce was successful Every punter throughout your country in the Betting Shops wised up and jumped on when he had one going He was good for Greyhound Racing The Hall Green Shadows who run the place Should have him in and start learning from him You lot should stop pointing to the Rules ... because like all Brits you are deeply jealous Of the success of the geyser NOW you want to knock him down The fellah took the British "RULES" & the "ESTABLISHMENT" on And beat them up Instead of sending him off you should be learning from him This allegiance to the rules, the system and the established order.... IS SO FECKING BRITISH ! |
By:
Iris I'm sure I've said something similar in the past but John Pearce was putting the future of hall green in jeopardy, if he had continued I'm sure the bags contract we heavily rely on would have been lost. From a personal point of view I did back his dogs myself when money for them on the bags doesn't mean to say it was right!

The record of Azzuri Miley suggests the trainer knew exactly what he was doing and by its record any owner would have been pleased. The greyhound has now found its level, apparently still healthy and genuine. To suggest the trainer held it back in 14 A6 races is very debatable. The dog previously won 2/6 A8 and 4/11 A7. Throughout those 14 A6 races I would suggest that one or two "gambles" went astray nothing is mentioned of that. The overall profile of the dog suggests it was being bought along steadily. Once out of his kennel it found masses of time to win two quick races and now 5/15 at a higher grade. A profile of a successful greyhound. Are we suggesting something against the rules happened while it was in A6?. Hindsite is a wonderful thing. As a point of discussion what happened after it won A5 in 29.22 by six lengths at 11/2 sp for its new trainer. Finding 4/5 lengths on its best. Was that excused by blaming the previous trainer holding it back?
By:
I would not call the a6 stat steady progress at all. the only other answer is that Gerry Ballantine who I might add very good trainer is far superior to John Pearce in training greyhounds. This dog is only one of many that improved after leaving Pearce but I just felt that this particular dog was a great example. Also how about the 4 bags races where it won at 4/5 5/4 4/5 6/4 where there was thousands for it on the machine. I'm sorry those who defend Pearce need to smell the roses. And why was he asked to leave. Anyone got the right genuine answer? Gra have it but glossed over it in their statement eh
By:
Point taken and I do not know who the best trainer is. I am just highlighting some facts and not supporting anyone trainer. From a pure racing point of view the short priced winners on bags have the following mitigating circumstances. One was in a downgraded race, two were won in slower times than the dog ran previously and none were by more than 1 1/2 lengths. It is obviously the amount of money taken out from the large bookmakers that has prompted all this. It just re affirms how much the game depends upon the large bookmakers.
By:
Yes agreed about the big bookmakers they have too much power. It's the punters who opposed dogs against Pearce or even the owners who had dogs in these races the ones that suffer! I do take your point on the times, but they are calculated and in my own opinion not accurate as I do my own going on every meeting and I would say half the time I disagree with the going given out. At the end of it all we shall never know the exact truth and look at ways to improving the sport and more importantly its itegrity..

By:
When your dog, horse or human runner is in tip top condition and tuned to perfection you the trainer
are the first and best to know this but the problem with letting this information out to certain members of both sides of the betting community/industry is it can have negative effects to the opposite side backer of the exchange, beit a conventional bookmaker or player in an exchange. The amounts bet on pearces runners and the price movements involved show that you cant mix business with pleasure in such to such an open degree without losing trust within the arrangement members. |

HAVING ATTENDED H.G. FOR MANY YEARS THERE HAVE BEEN FEW TAINERS REFERRED TO AS GENIUS, TONY MEEK WITH TWO DERBY WINNERS IS POSSIBLY THE ONLY ONE. SO HOW DID AN AVERAGE TRAINER WITH AVERAGE DOGS , ( most improved after leaving his kennels ) HAVE SO MUCH SUCCESS? THE ANSWER IS APPARENT TO EVERYONE WITH A REASONABLE OPINION AT H.G. HIS DOGS FOR SOME REASON WERE FAVOURABLY TREATED, AND WHEN THEY DID FIND TO MUCH TIME, FOR SOME INEXPLICKABLE REASON THE GOING ALLOWANCE WAS ADJUSTED, AND WHEN A DOGS PERFORMANCE VASTLY IMPROVED NO QUESTIONS WERE ASKED. SO YOU CANNOT BLAME THE TRAINER,BUT YOU CAN CERTAINLY QUESTION THE REFS PERFORMANCE

anakin u say about supreme amigo but wasnt that because of the track bias it was proberly a 7/4 shot i wouldnt blame buckland at all for that it was part track and partly because them so called bookies which they simply are not spend to much time watching betfair and if something is slightly short on here say 7/4 then more times than not will open up 5/4 which makes the race and grading look bad when it is the bookies mugging everyone off and leads to people on here blaming gra refs and allsorts pearce never took a penny off the hall green bookies from what i hear so if u spend spend so much time at the track y dont u smell the roses and see them so called bookies are making the place look alot worse than it actually is
By:
i sort of agree with you about the bookies, and your right about pearce taking money off them, he took it off punters on betfair even worse in my opinion, and was giving Hall Green a bad rep, all of the bookies commentators would say here is a pearce special from hall green again and they win! surely that is not good for the track? I remember days where we would hardly see a 6/4 on bags let alone 4/6, and from stats above it show hall green's odds on win more than any other track, makes us look like a flapping track not the jewel in the supposed GRA we are supposed to be!
By:
dont the bookie commentators say the same in horse racing when someone like b.curly starts backing one and it wins is that bad for horse racing??? so y is it bad for greyhound racing is nobody not allowed to win anymore just my opinion you look at results from hall green and alot more short favs get beat than win but the winners get highlighted by ppl talking out of their pockets if they didnt find the gamble the reason there r alot of short favs at hall green is because the bookies aint real bookies it takes a fiver to shorten up a dog by 2 points ffs how is that right?
By:
Yes Barney Curley is bad for racing, but difference is he only represented himself as Pearce represented hall green. And yes the bookies do shorten up to quick sometimes without taking a bet because unfortunately Betfair on bags racing has made the sport as corrupt as it is. Get a much better reflection of a gamble on a night. Also Pearce's dogs would have 20k on them etc. and arry why did Pearce get asked to leave really, can you shed any light from the race room or do us punters have to put up with Stephen rea's cover up speech??
By:
anakin where do you get 20k from ?
By:
I would get it from the bank. Drug dealers have different ways of finding the finance lol.. Ok iris upto 20k and I've seen that with my own eyes
By:
i have a feeling you think you know why jp left
i also know you are guessing the amount gambled on each pearce special i also know that not every pearce special won clearly your request for someone to "shed more light" shows you are IN FACT short of information why don't you just stop accusing others of covering up when you clearly are not able to substantiate your statements ? |
By:
iris I am afraid you have got me wrong. And yes to a point guess work because I do not record the amount of money for everyone of Pearce dogs, I sure someone on here can confirm it better than myself, yes we all know why Pearce was sacked, just be nice to hear it from the inside of the gra rather than releasing a statement thanking John for his service but he can longer run dogs at hg. He would of been a great example of how no trainer is untouchable!
By:
Anakin If you know why I was sacked please let me know as you will be better informed than me.(we all know) what rubbish.
By:
Nice to see your still alive John lol. Actually it would not surprise in the slightest if they hadn't properly informed you I can believe that. GRA are the most unprofessional body in any sport I have come accross.
By:
FACT IS Anakin ... you have NO FACTS
By:
And iris like I have said before your just a bloke sitting on his computer trying to make money without a care for the sport. You haven't even been to hall green in your life. I love the sport from the thrill of the race, the social aspect, the re homing of greyhounds and raising money for the RGT, for the success of the sport in whole. What do you put back into the sport apart from winding everyone up on the greyhound forum with your 13 thousand posts. I respect people's opinions even arrysarmys who disagree's with most of my opinions but I respect his views because he cares, he has a passion for the sport and his opinion is based on what happens at Hg. Your opinions mean nothing iris!
By:
You always know when someone reverts to insults on here that the truth hurts !
I'm just building a set of kennels in galway mate to breed greyhounds, although what difference that makes to my opinion I am not sure ? |
By:
Good luck with the breeding and kennels hope it goes well for you. As for your opinions I am afraid on the subject of the goings on at hall green you are right your opinion is still irrelevant
By:
Thanks for your good wishes.
Its not about my opinion of Hall Green issues. Its about you talking B S and failing to produce FACTS |
By:
some of us got day jobs iris, we haven't got all day watching evey single pound on every dog. The fact I have been going to hall green for the last 25 years constantly go to the majority of meetings might give me an inclination of what's going on. I have seen dossiers collated by hardcore gamblers etc about the likes of Pearce etc, you will have to take my word on it, or unless you have the facts yourself to disprove the fact that there has never been 20k on a dog at hall green, I'm sure it would be very educating. Either way it does not hide the fact you will never know all the in's and outs of Hg. Do you see me for example challenging locals knowledge at say belle vue?
By:
anakin i respect ur opinon aswell but the reason i disagree with alot u say is because it simply aint the truth i havent a scooby why pearce was sacked and as far as im concerned thats all done with lets move on and not keep on going over old ground he has gone now and good luck to watever he is doing now u call this a hall green punters forum and all u ever go on about is pearce this and pearce that or wat his ex dogs are doing tbh its all a bit boring now with due respect ppl need to get over it and talk about the other things that go on at the track if thats wat this forum is about if not why didnt u just call it the "im obsessed with jp and gra thread" lol

couldn't agree more
