Guys

Must offer up apologies first for this post but really have too.

As most will know I was very kindly donated a pup last year from Seamus McCloskey of which was to be sold and proceeds donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, I did have a buyer but sadly he lost his job not long after and had asbsolutely no option but to pull out of buying her, to be honest I told him that no one would want him going into debt for her and not to feel bad, which he was BTW.

Anyhow I reared her on at my expense which I had no problems with at all and I thought about asking a trainer to train her for nothing with all prize monies going to the charity, I was also going to syndicate shares in her out with all proceeds going to the charity, I did however decide that I would be more comfortable with doing this after she was schooled, I sent Daisy away to the schooler and within 2 days she dislocated a toe and ended up at the vets and the last digit had to be removed, although not exactly overjoyed I knew it was nothing serious and she would be fine to race, through this I was paying her kennel keep as well as the £250 vet bill and although I have enough of my own to pay, I never once moaned about it as it had to be done, that was till today.

This morning Daisy must have rapped her leg on the bed front(Wood) and it came up like a balloon, she was popped in the car and taken to the vets, the time she got there it had doubled in size and after an X-Ray it was diagnosed as a broken bone just below the wrist, this will need to be pinned as the vet says it cannot be just put in a cast, to say I am gutted is an understatement and the bill thats going to come is not what I am looking forward too, It is bad enough when it is 1 of your own and you need to just get on with it but as Daisy is not technically mines I just cannot believe it, as I said already I dont have a problem with all the costs accrued so far but this is going to be a tough 1.

Daisy will be operated on monday or tuesday.

Anyhow I was wondering if anyone would like to contribute towards her bill, I know it may seem cheeky but as I said she is not even mines, if anyone would like too it would be very very much appreciated and once I know what the bill is I will post it up, any donations can be made payable to the vets and you would be more than welcome to check if she is infact in the vets.

Thanks for reading this.
Dave

Sorry but Im sure you could have found a buyer after the guy pulled out easily enough but youve kept it. Would imagine it is well bred and you want to breed from her but want others to pay for the op. Tell you what, Ill make a donation to Macmillan instead.

Weren't YOU the one who had a go at Clipboard because he ran his ** through season so the kennel bill would be less, claiming responsibilities of the owner and welfare etc?

Now you're the one coming on here begging for people to contribute to a vets bill.

You couldn't make it up

Phone up the ICC and ask them who owns Macmillan Daisy, if you cant be bothered you will find I had paid for the registering of her and the syndicate name shes under which is " The Macmillan Supporters Syndicate", I registered her on 23/07/09.

You were asking for grief by posting this on here. Would be absolutely astounded if anyone contributes anything bar giving you abuse.

rearer. You really think I will help u out. I would rather contribute to the charity myself. I wasted a phone call on you. Which cost me about 6 quid because you kept rambling on. I got abuse off you on here as well. Its my choice as a owner what I want to do. And it has done her no harm as she has refound her form. And tbh is a better dog now.

I dont care about the ICC or anything else.

Who are the members of the syndicate? You say you were going to syndicate it but you didnt so as the syndicate head you are the sole owner so have the benefits or the costs. We all have costs in this game and you have fallen unlucky but it is your responsibilty. Ive got 3 dogs on the sick list at 19 pound a day, off for 8 weeks, 6 weeks and 5 weeks, can you help me with that?

Check

MASSIVE difference.. CB owns his ** and it IS his responsibility, however I DONT own Daisy and have been left with her, do you honestly think I'd be putting this type of post up if she was mines, try taking your blinkers off for 2 seconds.

DD.. That coming from the Forum clown is laughable.

Jacks.. Your probably right and Yes I did expect some grief but do not feel guilty or wrong, as already stated she has been left with me.

Didn't want you to feel guilty or wrong. Everyone has financial hardship at times. Just surprised you expected any compassion from nameless forumites.

Hang on. I assume you registered her and the syndicate. So whether you like it or not, you're responsible.

Before you start giving lessons about welfare and responsibility consider your own actions.

He wants nameless forumites to help him so has to accept any criticism thrown at him. Its a forum and people are allowed to air their views though I would like him to answer my questions rather than skirting around picking on DD

If you can't afford the vets bill then can't you take the dog to one of those charitable places that treat animals for free? Just a thought. Might not get the dog back into racing shape, but maybe you ought to think about just getting the dog well and have it as a pet perhaps?
By:
now wheres that switch!!!

nice too see soo many helpful forumites here!!! think abt the poor dog ffs, a dog which most of you cretins waste your £2 bets on each day!!! without the hounds you couldnt have your 2 bob bets.

I have enough of my own dogs without taking on other peoples, the reason she came was for the charity and once she got to near 12 months old I felt the best results for the charity would be to syndicate her, I did post it on here and got some positive responses but it was as a racer, thats why she was being schooled first, obviously shes not exactly the luckiest ** alive and maybe is not meant to race.
I know how hard it is and feel sorry for your own bad luck and respect anyones right to decline anything.

DD.. Yer getting a set of bolloks I see.

Who are you calling cretins? I thought mine was the most constructive bit of advice on here. At least I had the dogs welfare at heart.

This might sound a bit harsh but if the dog is already in the vets and you cant afford to have the operation then ask the vet to have it put down
By:
DaveEdwards
When: 08 Nov 09 22:39
Just looked at their website, presumably a going concern like that would have a deal with a vet for the amount of business that they would be buying?

If not couldn't the costs be absorbed as part of the running costs of the business?

Bit steep Cheap!

I think he should have the dog patched up and keep it as a pet.

Just dug out an old Irish greyhound stud book
"it will be in the best interest of the community and in the long run for the greyhound concerned if it is put painlessly to sleep, rather than given away to some person who will not care for it"
To be honest the dog will have to be put out for the operation and it really wont make any difference to the dog if it doesnt wake up again. No im not very PC

If shes not been syndicated YET then obviously theres no members as such, The Syndicate has myself down as Head of Syndicate, if/when the syndicate gets going and you join I will happily put you down as head of Syndicate.

Hope this answers your question.

BTW...Do not understand the " Nameless Forumites" Tag.

MDM.. only 100!

At the end of the day I dont expect everyone to contribute and thats fine, the ** will be looked after no matter what and thats what counts.
