Shot Rory. Make that and straight back in it.

St Andrews needs to make the rough more penal, its too wispy and thin.

It isn't an open venue course any more. It should be used for just the Dunhill or a regular tour event.

Carnouiste knocks spots of it.

-13 or -14 after 2 rounds, cut being under Par isn't an Open event.

Look at the players in contention not the score to par!

Likely par is around 68,the way they hit the ball now.

But cream rising to top.

Tiger played with sentiment?  Are you having a laugh? What was he -  8 or 9 up on Montgomery at St Andrews on the 72nd tee and he didn;t have the class to go for the green and entertain the crowd.  He could have gone out of bounds twice, reloaded twice, and still won it but he played ultra safe and aimed for the first tee.  Some sentiment!  One of my most disappointing moments in golf.
In saying that he played the finest last four holes I have ever seen in golf, in the PGA, the year Rich Beem popped up and won it.  To have any chance of catching the guy he had to birdie each of the last four - and he did.  Fantastic stuff!
No, sentiment is not something I would ever associate with Tiger Woods.

Carnoustie is magnificent.  You play the first four and wonder what all the fuss is about and then, it becomes a golf course supreme.
A mate of mine once, somehow, manged to birdie "The Spectacles".  He still tells us that because Gary Plyer reckoned that Carnoustie was the toughest course in the world and that the hole was a stroke index two that he birdied the second hardest hole in the world! Laugh  And we still laugh and humour him.

LH....8 or 9 up on Montgomery at St Andrews on the 72nd tee and he didn;t have the class to go for the green and entertain the crowd.
Whilst I agree with what you say re Haezeltine and Rich Beem...sadly the comment above shows you have very little understanding of golf at the highest level.
Do you honestly think that Tiger has any other goal than to win a major as quickly and expediently as possible - sentiment has absolutely nothing to do with it - win it shake hands move on...showboat - you are kidding

Nothing to do with showboat.  It was won all bar the shouting and he could have at least made an effort to entertain.  It was in the bag.  I thank you for your very humble lesson though and am glad we have such highly experienced and infinitely knowledgeable people on here who can keep us right with our golfing studies.
About as shrewd as a north east wind.

The sharing of fairways is clearly a bit daft but otherwise the course is the same for all and the benign weather is allowing some low scoring. Still plenty of chances to get high scores for some.

Kevin Kisner birdied 16 & 18 late last night to make the cut on the number, out first this morning, - 5 thru 6 into the top 20 now. Whoops

I hope Rory and Cam put on a show today, bugger the score. Both box office when on, a Stenson/Phil type of exhibition between those two would be instant classic.

Gonna be tough for anyone outside the top 7 to really get in the thick of this. Cracking leaderboard.

Cantlay's caddie proved his worth there at the 14th.  Well done sir.  No substitute for putting in the hours on the gold course, in advance, picturing possible trouble escapes.

Paddy C really up against it to scrape a par here.  3rd shot short of 16.

Hovland comes across as a very likeable person and Rory has looked imperious all week, best of luck to them both but I'm sure the 2 Cams won't give them a free ride, thoroughly enjoyable yesterday, more of the same today please.

I'd like to see McIlroy winning another one. In the last few years you would expect him to blow it somewhere along the way, but he's playing a lot more seriously this year, concentrating better and generally more disciplined. So, he has a great chance this time.
By:

When: 17 Jul 22 16:03
he's gonna have to have a massive fk up to trip up this time..Hovland constantly flatters to deceive..only needs to match those a bit further back..his to lose from here

It's just time isn't it. Been a long drought but all signs pointed toward him this week. Head to head with a kid getting his first experience at this ultimate level just to make it easier again. Absolutely no excuses here if he somehow ends the day still on 4 majors.

Nobody talking about young, but he has hung in really well, considering his relative lack of experience. Can't be ruled out yet.

getting boring now..he couldn't have scripted this any better himself..playing with a bottlejob with further ones behind

he's played well AND putted well for once but u should need to get out of 2nd gear to win a major in the final round

this is what is wrong these days when the average is hyped up to be stellar and the unwashed fall for it
