Backed and laid Casey for top 5 finish 17 and 6. Shame he missed a putt on par 3 to drop to 3 under but he is very steady.

Bordering on impossible for Tiger to genuinely compete in this state.

Agree. The target now to get it back to even par. Plenty of opportunities out there

All a bit sad. If he can't be close to competitive at St Andrews he really can't anywhere.

Painfully slow over 6 hours for tigers group.

Poor Tiger might have to sleep in his cryotherapy chamber tonight.

Be back out there warming up in less than 12 hours.

Last groups out still have 5 holes to go at the current pace of play looking at another 90 minutes or so. Will be dark before they finish

15 hours of daylight to play with and they didn't get even close to finishing. Pretty good advert for LIV's format.

6 hours for a round of golf?!  Nightmare stuff.  Usually that;s because the starters are taking bungs right, left and centre and letting everybody on.  Not so here of course.

Bit of overnight rain and not much wind this morning, could be some proper low ones.

Flags limp but nobody really taking advantage so far, they are struggling to get the ball to the hole when putting so the greens must be running pretty slow.

I agree with you Timber.  Tiger is old news now.  He never, ever brought sentiment into his stellar years so why should we now?
Rory has blown a few majors with disastrous starts so his first round has to enthuse him and his supporters.  Wasn't keen on his comment about "fiddly" but I assume it means that he can do a lot better.  He just needs to stay the same for me.  Don;t let your mind go awol! Three more 66's and he surely wins this.  I know it doesn;t work like that but that;s what he should be aiming at.
The cut projected at even par.  Ridiculous for a major.

If you were watching on the 18th and your player had a 1/2 stroke lead (and you were going to make a load if they won) would you 'cough' on the tee to put the 2nd place player off??

Timber you are obviously no golf fan. Irrelevant what Tigers score is, he could beat most of the mugs up there in worlds top 10 with one arm in prime. Sheffler swings and hits it like a 28 hcapper, DJ never been anything other than average, Rory crumbles under pressure swifter than a deck of cards, Rahm only has one stock shot and will never win another major. Golf has never been in such a poor position…

As Tiger tapped in what might be his last putt at the Old Course, Sheila Walker watched from her upstairs window in the small building to the left. She is the great-great-granddaughter and only surviving relative of Old Tom Morris.

Tiger best i have ever seen. And i think he did buy into sentiment in his prime.

Any AM golfer has probably learnt more from watching Tiger play than any other golfer.

How he can shrug of a bad hole or shot, or how he plots his way round a tough course. Next i would say Speith, how to get the most of a round and how to think when in a tough position.

-20 major scoring record will do well to survive this week.
