Rory probably looks great on the range but his course management and shot execution look very poor at the moment for a top player

To be fair he's been 4th ad 5th in his last starts so justifies a short price, he's looked more solid lately than he showed today.  And I do think for some it can be as simple as wet course = Rory, even if that's based on some tournaments from ages ago.

That said, his ratio of converting top 5s to wins has become very poor.  And the difference between the two is the 1 or 2 stupid mental errors he chucks into almost every round.

Will be a hall of fame player if he never swings another club so hard to be too critical, but 1 win in the last 30 months is really not good enough for a player with the talent to end up on the Mt Rushmore of professional golfers.

Kuchar has bowed to the pressure and changed his tune on the caddy payment.

I wonder if Fred's back will manage 36 in a day?- I know mine wouldn't

Guess those heckles worked.  But at least he's done the right thing.

I know it's not the only issue, but I do think the caddie thing with Rory is really important.  Probably was time to get rid of JP, but for a top pro not a mate.  Tiger has been through a few caddies but every one of them has been one of the best in the business.  Can you imagine Tiger playing even one tournament with one of his pals on the bag?

Kuch has posted a statement apologising to the caddie, the tournament and his fans for the way he's handled the situation, and will make a full payment to the caddie.  Only because he was backed into a corner, but then I guess the Mexican dude doesn't care what Kuchar's reason was, he's got some life-changing cash on the way.

I think the caddie suggested 5% was fair rather than ask for the full 10%.  A local caddie doesn't have the responsibilities, expertise or the expenses of a pro so that seems reasonable, 0.5% was a joke no matter how you look at it.  It's still ridiculous that Kuch thought it was reasonable for so long.

comms suggesting not LC and P this pm yet another advantage for the players not out today as presumably course will be drier by tomorrow

rory flatters to deceive these days. but still has the gears and the talent to blow away a field at any point.

think though that rory and tiger are like two for the bookies really. they must take a huge volume of bets on those players, and these days, they don't win that much.

Yeah, strange call to play the ball down with rain continuing.  Also a big unfair on guys who've just been playing it down, won't be surprised if we see a guy or two penalised for absent-mindedly picking one up through force of habit.

Take away the 3-putts and Tiger is 1 back.

Always seems like the further Rory is from the lead the better he plays.  Psychologist's dream.

Fair to say JT has got the putter going.

Glad to hear Kuchar is doing the right thing about the caddie - probably just because of the negative press, but doesn't matter I suppose if the right thing was done in the end.

I'm pretty sure Scott canned a long putt on his last hole in round 2 to get in a play off

Too many holes in one day for Tiger.  Not sure he'll fancy two more days the same if he's not in contention.

Got onto Scotty for £20 @ 12's, after the first round.
Big Rahm just couldn't buy a putt, ffs.
JT, cruising.
Spieth starting at -7, won't be too far off the leaders.

Golf with the lid off! Excited

He'll need another good one the pace JT and Adam are setting.  Rory playing spectacular stuff too, but typically only after leaving himself miles off the pace in round 1.

i have layed a bit off JT to try to chase a big green on Bill Haas about 40k green which would be obviously very nice and easily my biggest single win and i have a good feeling about him giving a good showing. just get the price unger 5/1 and ill be happy!
