there seems to be something mentally fragile about spieth when you compare him to some of the golf champions of the past, that he has a comparable level of ability to but they didn't implode like this

Actually I think it's almost the opposite- his mental strength for a long time masked a lot of technical weaknesses (such as the final round last year when the game was gone but he toughed it out), but the problem is when that confidence starts to slip, this is what you get.

I still remember an opening round at Firestone a few years ago. Tee to green he was as shambolic as anything you would ever see at the top level. Dubuisson match play style save after save, hole after hole. Finally hit a couple of good shots on the last couple and finished -2 from memory. It left an impression. He'll be back cos he is a freak, I hit the pink when he was -2 so I enjoyed this one a little, has made my book sexy.
