He seems like a genuinely good guy, but they are so desperate to make him a star when his actual play isn't at all at that level. It's a shame, they're over-doing it so much that the world will be sick of him, and it's not his fault.

Already feeling a bit like late / early might be unlucky, tough greens in the afternoon and by the forecast the other wave will either have damper greens, either after storms tomorrow or on Saturday morning

give me an american major played in the roasting sunhsine on a course with water and trees everywhere in front of big crowds enjoying the summer OVER the british open played in miserable weather where everyone looks depressed on a course where every hole looks the same!
i love american golf............this links snobbery nonsense is complete rubbish.

Sergio playing this hole well, awful tee shot with an iron, average shot out of the rough to short of the green, very average chip from in front of the green, what price he holes the putt now for par?

Future generations will wonder how Rory came into 8 and Kaymer went out to 95 before this all started.

Roe and Mcginley are atrocious.

I don't like a lot of commentators but these two are the worst by a mile.

Mcginley is so bland he could commentate on an alien invasion and make it sound boring.

Mr Eboue it says something when you are "pleased" that Murray is back on

Whoever thought of pairing them together wants shooting

who would have thought that Rory DJ Phil Bubba and Patrick Reed to name 5 are all in big trouble and day 1 isn't even done.

Add to that there are some other big names struggling like Jordan and Rosie.

Jordan playing the worst looking like an 18 handicapper off the tee but once he gets near the green he manages to limit the damage whereas Bubba has played well bar his last shot to the green funny game

i have been saying all along the speeith  is as moderate a ball striker as i can remember  see winning a comp, one day his brilliant short game will get dragged down by his craaap ball striking and he  will be in al sorts of turmoil.you get the bombers who can be  crooked but the short hitters are normally straight, he hits short crooked drives and veery ordinary golf shote infill he comes to within a 100 yards where he has had no peers until now.

problem is this is how he always hits the ball,he's an astounding player mentally cos when he comes off hell say" i  hit it great most of the day but just had problems making putts" and in his mind he really thinks its the case so his confidence has yet to evaporate, in the real world the rest of team speech should tell him to forget the putting green and spend mistime on the range trying to hit the ball properly.

hes holed  a twelve/15 footer and a    15/20 footer last  two holes , most players  would lose the will to live having hacked around like he does but he's so mentally tough he  gets it round in levels par when he probably should be shooting 78, trouble is his striking gets worse week by week and eventually if he cant start hitting fairways and green hell be  having 23 putts to shoot 74.

Backed Spieth in his 3 ball, hard to believe he is leading but that seems to be his game, seems to play crap, yet never far away Crazy

look at his stats again today, very nearly the shortest off the tee and almost last in accuracy, 250 yards drives into the rough just aint gonna get i t done unless he can average 22 putts, even allowing for the fact he's only on about 70 % greens its still thought to  av 22 putts.

I think one of my favourite things about things about golf is that is not subjective. Who cares what your swing looks likes if your scorecard is the winner.

Stenson final round in open has to be the best round of golf Ive watched, hopefully he is there at the death in this one.

Be funny if Spieth gets round in level par
