With the exception of 1 bad hole Kaymer has played superbly for 2 days. Can't buy a putt though just shows the fine margins

timing and all that :)

He's barely missed a shot just 2 bad chips and a cold putter. Could easily go round in 64 or 65 tomorrow though if the putter behaves.

Regardless of what happens this week think he is a winner waiting to happen though as he is swinging it really well

Kaymer was terrible from the fairway on 9, 10 and 11

on 9 he leaked his approach right, he then held a putt from well off the green luckily

on 10 he did the exact same with his approach shot and then the carnage ensued

I think it was 11, possibly 12 he then overcompensated and pulled his approach left of the green

I do agree he could easily have shot 64 yesterday (lipped out 14, hung on cup 17) and early on today he missed some very makeable putts

Think he missed it in right place though Premier when he did miss thus giving a chance of an up n down?

10 and 11 were just awful swings though and cost him 4 shots. Missed 3 great chances early on today though and at least another 2 coming in. Even with the 7 could easily have gone round in 69 today but his putting is average at best

As you say though holed a train on 9 so might make up for some of the short putts

He has left loads of shots out on the course and has played a lot better than -3 though, pity as those few holes have played him out of the tournament in all likelihood

Needs to go low tomorrow I think to have a chance of the win. Just shows you though that 1 bad hole over 72 can make a world of difference

he very rarely hits a decent  long shot, don't get me wrong  i admire his ability to retrieve it with his wonderful short game not just his putting  but every aspect of the short game but as a ball striker you wouldn't get a thrill watching him on the range.oif his short game doesn't abandon him hell  still win on a regular basis but if  the sort game ever becomes average hell disappear into obscurity.so far so sideways iron shots and there will be loads more of hooks and pushes with the driver today buteos of his short game he probably s core ok.

he has an even greater asset, after the round he thinks he's hit the ball ok despite hacking his way round and believes he's putted poorly.

not if theres wind about mate , rose will skin him alive, there u ago another iron hacked into the rough of the tee, then into the bunker.this is standard ball striking by speith so far only difference being he missed his 8 footer for a par on the first.he has the great mental strength to play like this hole after hole and then make birdies  on the odd occasion he  plays a decent hole.
