yep was a bombers course imo in 2010, but 2004 seemed to be much fairer to all.

The 2010 PGA was a cracking major so many in contention. It was 7500 in 2010 and a mix of players got in contention. It is 200 yards longer but unless it is wet I don't think length will be a major factor.

Bubba in very good form after the playoff loss in 2010

lay of rory for me @10.5 he cannit be 100%

recon if rory wins this..it will equal anything he has done so far in his carreer.

Fowler, Day , Koepka my early thoughts. Just can't give Serge any more chances. Or maybe just one more...

|

Jason Bohn seems massive value...35th in the fed ex cup, 10 top 20 finishes and coming off a tie for 4th at the quicken loans. Great fairways hit and greens in regulation stats also.

apart from dustin's mistake, who was it who had a disaster last round when leading last time it was held at whistling straits?

Am wondering if Lowry's win has given some belief to the Euro players like Willett and Beefburger.

I've backed DJ, Kopeka, Fowler & Oostie. Hopefully one of them will be in contention on Sunday evening.
I noted Rory's off the cuff comment to a Sky reporter during his first practice round over the weekend that the course was playing long. |

thanks mighty whites and dlarssonf. That was some meltdown. i am sure we will see another this major. Dont think i have ever bet on Day before in a major, but some reason i am drawn on a big bet for him this week.

Bit of a trend with PGA winners playing well at Firestone the week before. PGA winners by year below with their Bridgestone result the week before in the years since the events have run back to back in their current order.
2014 McIlroy - 1st 2013 Dufner - 4th 2012 McIlroy - 5th 2011 Bradley - 15th 2010 Kaymer - 22nd 2009 Yang - 19th 2008 Harrington - 20th 2007 Woods - 1st |

camilla villegas should be a decent price on here soon ...!
seems to have been been close to hitting form for a while now, without producing the scores to back it up....... suckered me in for another week |
|
By:
Think Villegas a good bet for top South American. 13-8.
Grillo has potential, but this is out of his comfort zone at the moment. He is also quite a bit bigger than Camillo in the outright market. Gomez has missed 6 of his last 7 cuts, and was nearly last in his completed event. Villegas shot a best of the day 65 last Sunday, was top 10 here in 2010, pops up on leaderboards where he has previous, and consistently plays the tougher courses well for someone of his SP. Odds on shot IMO. |

No chance Villegas is top south African this week .

i'll ad to rhino's aforementioned trend: an american that did well at bridgestone AND has won this year.

I haven't won anything on golf for ages as my selections will tell you, but it's the last major of the year so may as well burn more money on the following....
Scott Mickelson Streb Kisner Kjeldsen Good luck all. |

Final major of the year and should be a cracker. A lot of the top player's in form. A case can be made for so many.
Bubba 14/1 win - Beaten in a playoff last time it was here and in great form. Kaymer 50/1 win - Won last time on this track. If this was not at this course i would be put off. His form compared to the top players this year is not great but 50/1 i think is a good price. Robert Streb - 80/1 e/w bet - Having a very consistent season. Fifth last week. 11th in greens in regulation which i think will be a factor this week. His scramblin is ok (70th) and he is long off the tee(42nd). Bernd Weisberger - 175/1 e/w bet - 17th on the european tour in greens in reg. Long enough off tee 39th. 14th in scrambling. Had a decent enough finish last week 25 and won the french open recently a difficult enough track. As i said a good case can be made for so many. One other i considered backing was Stenson. However i normally only go each way over a certain price and at 28/1 i don't think a win only bet is value. Good luck with your bets should be cracking viewing. |

know precious little about golf but love watching it, if none of the below are in contention on sunday
i will revert to plan b, lay the leader (hopefully at odds on)and get my stake back on the players below. thats the plan! Matt Kuchar Patrick Reed Martin Kaymer Robert Streb Jimmy Walker Justin Thomas Billy Horschel J.B. Holmes Jason Dufner Francesco Molinari Jason Bohn Brendon Todd Cameron Tringale Joost Luiten |
