If they start at 3pm R2 should be finished by 5.30pm. Back out in 3 balls off two tees at 6.30pm might get 9-12 holes in and then 7am start tomorrow and play to a completion?

Still going to be windy when they get out there later but tomorrow looks dead calm which is why I think they might try and cram it in

A plan would be nice if the R&A could tell us though Ski? I think they want to finish it Sunday as Monday would be a total anti climax

Me having a cynical mind, I'm betting that all those who want it voided have a nasty red book and all those who want it completed have a nice pretty green book.

Me, I'm in the 'Void it camp'. Devil

Super Hans, re your 1020 post, Garcia is on the 16th green in two; difficult putt from (perhaps) 20-25 ft.

what a farce of a tournament, the rain I can undertand but the wind, GTF, its the british open not the p u s s y USPGA

Wasn't the open at Carnoustie played in very strong winds?

I can vaguely remember when greg norman won in 1986 it was  torrential rain and gales for the whole 4 days

Everyone should calm down cant play if the ball is moving on the greens.Wont start until 3 .00 at the earliest so only way it can finish on Sunday is if they dont do a redraw after round 3 as you cant play 2 tee start at St Andrews.

Just updated the spreadsheet. Can escape with a £30.00 loss, amazed considering I have 11 out of 19 available at 1000.
I think I'll stay in, haven't given up yet. Got 5 of the top 10 and don't fancy 4 of the reds.  Might back Rose and Matsuyama a bit later, to give me 7 out of 11.
Good luck with yours.Cool

They play a two tee start tournament at St Andrews every year.

no way they play 2 tee start for a major too far from practice putting green at least a 15min buggy ride plus you cant have buggies flying along fairways etc when the other guys are trying to play. Guess it could be done but cant see it happening.

I favour 2-tee start

There is another golf course between the Old Course and the beach, there is no problem at all getting the players out there if they want to. I personally hope they just play 18 on Sunday and then final round Monday.
