Well well last night it was pretty calm for a Open course, and still some problems on 11th green. Another reason not to play this course

Yeah last time they delayed for 45 mins I think mate then sent them out again but I think its even stronger now

2010 the afternoon wind was playable, but for 1hour it was absolutely crazy

I don't think split tees is an option cos of the course layout but if they don't there is not a prayer this gets finished tomorrow unless they play 27 holes

well by the time i get back from the links myself playing in similar conditions,myself i does not look like i will not miss much.hard to believe the r&a cut the 13th green where loius ball moved.

15 hours of daylight so could still have a good crack at getting it in. Great news for the leaders now though, wind dies this evening and calm tomorrow.

Could they though if they go off 1 tee? 70 odd players in 3 balls teeing off at 6.30am they might just about be able to get round but it would be close?

Surprised they cut any greens they still had to play on?, still 10 holes to play for some, reckon they will end up starting round 3 on Sunday and play round 4 Monday.

They can't say how long the delay will below because they don't know. All depends on the weather. |

2012 Women’s Open, they played for an hour in 60mph winds before scores declared null and void and full restart.

The leader Dustin Johnson hasn’t fully woken up yet. The winds are whipping across the Old Course, and he’s still to finish 14, at the front of the par-five’s green. So he takes out a lob wedge. It’s ballsy, you have to give him that. Then he fails to hit it. Chyip! The ball barely makes the playing surface. He then snoozes, failing to rush up to mark his ball. And it blows back down off the green! Get a wriggle on, big man! He takes the putter out and leaves it 12 feet short. He’ll have that for par. Nope. A total mess from the front of the green. You’d normally say the only way is up, but in these winds there are also several versions of sideways, and in the context of the scoreboard, down.
