what price was Rory pre tournay
thx |
By:
jumped between 6 and 6.4

Jason Day wins. Played very well to still hold a winning chance. Without much dropping for him. imo.
By:
its young fowlers time
By:
Got a feeling it could be Rickie Fowler if he stays patient. So many near misses yesterday, they have to start falling soon.
By:
weisberger has played the best all round golf of em all - accuracy, greens he's thrashes rory, who is fractionally ahead in the putting stakes, and from the look i had, bernd is very good in a final round when in the hunt.
But can he handle a major? bodes well the way he played alongside the circus following mikelson, i'm giving him a big chance and my monies are down ![]() good luck and Enjoy! |
By:
how come bernd is bigger price than Day in the win market but a shorter price than him in the W/O rory market? am i still sleepy or does that not really make any sense??
By:
If rory runs away with it then he could easily be second ( not same pressure ) , where as he probably won't cope with winning , to be honest only phil will cope under the cosh apart from rory
By:
nope can't see any reasoning, have took some 8.4 Day on the W/O market big imo, him and bernd will switch b4 the off imo.
By:
Think Louis is a big price at 40/1 e/w top three.
By:
oh yeah, in a major u are always taking a chance on the unproven, and everyone has it in their heads fowler and day are chokers - i dont believe that of fowler ANYMORE i think he's very different player now than even 6 months ago, gaining more and more confidence in his swing. i think alongside only a couple of other players him and rory are gunna control golf for many years to come.
By:
anfeild - yeah fair price, inspired me to have a look and saw louis 100/30 top 5 - and 20/1 win/ew in the W/O rory , i've had a pop at both
By:
still can't work out Day on this W/O market, so big on here, beating the books by 2 points! at this stage thats alot imo
By:
Totally confused. Don't know whether to green up for about £70.00 whatever, back Rory, Jason and Day (about a 1/3 chance coupled)to leave them winning about £60.00, but with Mahan and Donaldson losers for about £80.00, Big Phil, Oosty, Palmer and Ilonen decent winners, and leaving a lot of 999/1 shots red.
Or just stand still. Rory played poorly yesterday and STILL shot 4 under, probably the best even money shot in a major since Tiger. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

By:
oh fek i keep finding new punts to have, i think i maybe an addict lol - latest "value" in my head is Danny willet @ 15/2 with the sportsbook here, go find my next pot shot now, i'll be back
By:
must admit, i've been saying quite alot on here he's not there yet, but that was some impressive scrambling to put a round together, 1st time i saw how he could dominate for a decade + it was for me.
By:
hence alot of W/O punts this morning :)
By:
At the end of The Open while holding the Claret Jug, Rory boy said something like to Fowler and Garcia, "I'm sure they will win a Major soon."
Since Garcia is out of this one, leaving Fowler to win it. Some weird law of fate.....Fowler wins as predicted by Rory while Rory comes second.......Monday papers Headline?? |
By:
sry writing alot today but my willet punt was top 10
By:
Think Rory's putting will see him home with a bit to spare.
Looking very solid with the flat stick when he gets out of position and has to scramble and will have enough looks at birdie with his length to keep the chasers at bay. |
By:
Keep hearing he played badly yesterday.
All his stats where better than r2 and got more a lot more than his fair share with the flat stick. Are we now approaching the point where we are told he never misses a shot. Similar to, Tiger in his pomp never missed a 6ft pressure putt. |
By:
The greens here are the "let down" to me a little, i dont think much can be taken forward in putting as these greens are as easy as u are gunna find all year.
By:
i just dont think day is good enough to win from here.
to make up 3shots and then pass mcilrory in the form hes been in and overtake a semi-rejuvenated phil and catch and hold off 2 others and hold off all the players behind is a monumental task. his price looks pretty skinny to me. probably the worst price of all the top 9 at -9 or better. his best round of the previous 3 is a 65, rory's worst is a 67. replicate both of those and hes still behind rory, nevermind everybody else, and i cant see day shooting anything like a 65 with the pressure on |
By:
if rory shoots clear - Day or bernd 2nd will do me, with louis and ilonen coming from the pack to claim 3rd and 4th, anyone can have 5th - lastly willet scrapes his way into the top ten.
No need to watch now, that'll do ![]() |
By:
Cant seem to get multiples to accept P.Reed - shows him as a single but not showing in multiple tab - anyone have similar issue ?

Rory has done his major winning on the back of big leads previously. It'll be interesting to see how he copes with just a slender lead on a low scoring course (he may only be joint-leader, or even possibly not leading, by the time he tees off).
Not sure how the Wiesberger pairing will work out for him. I could see Fowler/Mickelson feeding off each other in the group behind and I fancy one of these to nick the event. Hopefully Fowler! For all that, I'm aware that in 2012 Rory paired Petterson in the final round and made a 3 shot lead at the start, 8 by the finish. I don't think he had the same pedigree of golfers queuing up behind him though. In his Open & Us Open victories he seemed a bit more conservative in the 4th round, which he can't afford to be today. |
By:
Seems I've done myself this time around by not siding with the fellow countryman in Rory. Left with Stenson and Delaet who are both 4 and 5 shots respectively off the lead. It's very very unlikely they will contend let alone win considering they would have to shoot 64/63 and even then that might not do it. Agree with MWDS though in the point about Rory winning majors usually with a huge lead built up heading into the final day. He has to keep the foot down if he's going to win this one. I respect Fowler and obviously Phil but again they are realistically going to need a 64/65 round to win. Unlikely.
By:
going on the number of times players have failed to deliver when holding 4, 5 shot leads , the likes of deleat, mahan etc may be better off challenging from of the pace,if they were leading you wouldnt have a shilling on them breaking par
By:
regarding rory i think he,s the one who,ll be thinking about shooting 66,theres that many players within 3 shots its highly likely that 1 maybe 2 will shoot 66 or lower, which ones ive no idea,

By:
good point about pairings, they mean a lot imo.
thats another reason i think day is a poor price, hes not in the last 2 groups. that next to last group of mickelson and fowler youd have to expect at least one of em to have a good round, if not both. out of the last two groups theres only hamburger who you wouldnt have confidence in having a decent round. granted mickelson is up and down like a yoyo these days but youd have to prefer him at 11.0 than day at 14.5. well i would anyway. |
By:
couple of early birdies from the few who's started - holes 1 n 4 both by a few of em, so 1st impression they've kept it playable as far as setup/pins go
By:
suprised they didn't early start and 3 ball this, at 1pm storms supposedly coming and be around for 12 hours!!!
By:
Does anyone fancy a typical Sunday charge from Furyk?
By:
maybe until he realises he might win then miss a 4 footer
By:
only a roughly 50% chance of rain in any one hour slot, so its not a certainty the storms will hit.
bit of a **** up if they do like |
By:
maybe thats why rory drifted over night. factoring in the chance that he may get burnt into ashes by a lightening bolt on the 18th tee.
