Very edited this time then, Vegas.. you said I was defending Betfair, maybe once I would have but not now. what made me put up my comment earlier was because of bob's posts, he was saying nothing gets matched but today I had 447 bets matched, works out at nearly on a minute, he said he had odds of 12 up for ages today on Leishman but he has been as high as 32 today and as low as 7.6. If you ask for fair odds at the correct times your bets will get matched, £2 or £900.
With regards to why would some clever trader not give him those odds because a few minutes later it was higher anyway, well a trader does not need to take the risk that the odds will go the rite way for him, and anyway a trader is very often a trader because he is not interested in having a gamble. I am afraid I also could not agree that £2 bets are killing the exchange more than PC? he will have to explain that one too me. With your "we should educate and not pretend all is good" as I said I wish it was how it was 10+ years ago, when the PC was introduced I thought that was the end of my time on here, but the one thing it did do it made me think about the markets and believe me if I can find ways to make it work anyone can! |

I nearly always do copy it first just not last time

It's not that I agreed with his points, but I saw summin about he's a joker and took a side lol - on re-reading, it was an isolated comment which meant very little - everything else was actually a good read, people were "educating" so I suppose in a nutshell I was wrong!! oooops
![]() as for the change in betfair, ADAPT that's exactly what u did and me for that matter, I've said before I went from clicking for 100s at a time to having a £2 button, top and bottom, have to feed the family!! oh but one thing, without any sort of fast feed I'm pondering... trader or not, a BET, always and forever will be a BET - a punt - a sure thing, but ALWAYS ALWAYS A GAMBLE!!! ![]() |
|
By:
Yes any bet or "trade" can go wrong but there is normally a safer less risky side of the bet to be on, giving odds of 12 on Leishman when nothing was happening has risk, although I would rather lay the 12 than back it personally.
|
|
By:
Well yeah!
btw the "fair" odds u speak of - I'm not sure it can be so literal, fairness is just opinion at the end of days, and in a weak market with a VERY select bunch of players I think it becomes even more stretched, irrelevant of how u do it, if u make money taking it off others who are less informed shall we say, is not a honarable profession no matter how nicer person u are. |

Anyone backing sergio at 2/1 at this stage needs sectioning. His putting stroke under pressure is a joke. He may win but at 2/1 at this stage is a joke. His putting is shocking. I think rory romps this.
|
|
By:
But if like today I averaged a bet per minute then either I am taking bad odds or they can't be far from fair?
I am no more informed than anyone else, I don't have fast pictures, in fact I often forget that the radio of TV coverage has started. I did have a edge when I first started on here on the European tour in that I can read a golf swing and know where the ball is going at impact or even just before and back or lay accordingly, but faster pics put a stop to that. It always evolves, I see you joined 2 months before me, remember the night someone discovered what is now Shot Tracker, no one believed him at first, that was one change. |

every dog has its day!!!, its time!!!, its garcia this time .

that does seem very very short at under 2/1, irrelevant of who it is, in my lifetime I cant recall many times someone followed a score like 61 with anything even remotely close to it, more likely to shoot a absolute minimum 68 more likely 70.
which will be very good but give a few the chance to set up a fun final day. |

trebor - I'm happy to be wrong here but I have a feeling the % time you TOOK an on price screen is very low, I'm assuming 95% + people took from you?? and I would also guess that in 94% of them you feel you got the best end of the deal.
fook just noticed I posted at 2.20am - that's not a lot of sleep but tee off in an hour... |

Sergio's putting stats are amongst the best out there.
it is his stellar long game that normally lets him down. a shot of the planet or an iron that goes swimming is much more likely than a number of missed 5 footers. I dont think he will win, but 2s is a very fair price given his lead. Chasing pack is decent though. ![]() |

We have all seen Sergio crumble before 2/1 is a tad too short given Rose and Mcilroy on his coat tales. Sergio like he said rid his luck on the front holes under more pressure he wont get away with that and there's doubles all over this golf course, he drove like a dream and putted like a dream That's the best putting display of the last few years though and the best of Sergio's career.
I'm on RORY and if he drives like he did yesterday I find him hard to beat. Justin Rose don't think this course is playing tough therefore I'd count him out strange I know just don't think he's a birdie machine like the other 2. Great couple od days golf ahead |

I know nothing compared to you guys, but this doesn't seem right to me...
Tiger and Jimmy are both on the same scores. One is 150, the other 550. |

Just been playing about with my spreadsheet and I can green up for a minimum profit of £54.90, leaving 8 multi-k winners, Ryan Moore winning £759, Patrick Reed winning £103, and all the others winning more than £54.90. Betfair new site says I can cash out for a profit of £57.14. I'm surprised that the margin is so small, on the other hand it would save a lot of time and heartache if I just pushed the button. Anybody tried the cash out option yet.

By:
Is there bad weather expected, just noticed the early tee times?
|
|
By:
It's gone up to £59.75 and nobody has played a shot yet. Any body know if that's pre-commission or after commission.
|
|
By:
That's because some of your selection odds are falling so greening up increased.
|
|
By:
cash out figures are after commission if memory serves me right.
of course you can also use cash out for a loss as well when you feel your bottle crashing (speaking from personal experience) |
|
By:
Ski, the main question is do I want the excitement or do I want to avoid the stress. Garcia just a winner, Rory a good winner, Justin a loser for about 175. Schwartzel a small loser, will only cost a fiver to put him green. All the others down to Furyk are green.
Just have a load of paperwork to catch up on, otherwise it would be a no-brainer, I'd just stay in and trade. for two days. |
|
By:
It's not a bottle issue, aberdonia. I just don't like losing days, it's a matter of principle.
Whatever happens on the golf, the winner is always the worst possible result for me. I give too much away. |

early tees always means one thing for aussies.
no coverage.. |
|
By:
Early tees today due to 'inclement weather'.......CBS coverage starts at 2pm and leaders will finish by then......pga has featured hole 9 am....hopefully follow one group too........golf channel from 12 am so may watch the final 4 to 6 holes.
Quincy....you can green up in-running for bigger sum if things goes your way.....i'm sure you will be fine. |

By:
are sky going to be shown any live golf today?
|
|
By:
they better be, not in the schedules yet but I imagine they'll be on nearer 2pm when the leaders tee off
|
|
By:
Yeah checked their schedule too SamH, as you say hopefully by two they will have live golf!!!
|
|
By:
I didn't know they showed any live golf. I thought it was just loads of messing about in the studio & loads of adverts!

Added Marc Leishman.
Top 8 covered. |

Some juicy prices on the chasers if this doesn't end up in a three horse race. Had a fairly big tonk on Fat Pat at 120.

i dont really like cashout button cos if the markets weak u can end up giving away sum ridiculous value, but if theres money can be handy for those who dont have a third party bit of software (gruss etc) simply cos it can do bets under £2 - amazing how the bits can add up!!
|
|
By:
And here's me thinking cashout is for mugs.
