Will Jim ever win again?

Was backing Jimbo at evens yday. Never layed off as he was well clear of field and perennial runner up little timmy chasing him. What makes it worse is that I normally lay jimbo when in contention Cry

jim was a litte unlucky in the fact that someone shot 30 in the last nine to beat him by one shot.
and the fact he hasnt that extre gear the real champs have

16 pga tour wins, numerous other wins including a couple of nedbanks and a us open with "that" swing, not to shabby for someone without the extra gear Terry

clark certainly won rather than furyk lost. Jim didn't do much wrong he gave himself plenty of chances especially early on but couldn't hole anything.

When leading he seems to play conservatively these days. That said it is  general game last night it came down to him not holing the putts. Clark held good putts on the last few greens.

Jim has had an good career and its a testament to him he is still competitive into his forties.

I must admit I have being giving him stick on here, but nowt to do with his golf!! as someone's said clark won it, furyk in no way bottled it, yes missed a few putts but 8ft + not silly things - he's relentless and playing consistent top ten golf and for a good while now!
missed the boat as far as price goes, but I'm taking the 20/1 with laddies for money list, still think its decent price altho halved from last week. 16/1 on here!! could even trade it but have no interest in that myself this time, tbh if I was gunna "play" that market think bubba's very short @ 4/1 !

There are only 7 weeks left on the money list with 1.4 - 1.5 million being the winning purse each week

The top 10 are as follows

B. watson 5.1 million
J. Walker 5
D. johnson 4.2
J. Furyk 4.1
M. Kuchar 4.1
M. Kaymer 3.9
J. Spieth 3.8
R. McIlroy 3.6
S. Garcia 3.4
P. Reed 3.3

All the big guns will be teeing up for probably 6 of the 7 weeks.

Bubba is in a strong position unless someone can string a couple of wins together.

can see where your coming from, but I'm banking on bubba not in the top ten more than once, lets say this week bubba 20th furyk 2nd (again lol) that's close to a 1 mill turnaround.
love bubba but he aint been in top ten 4 in a row now with two missed cuts.

yes but remember there are limited fields in some of the events making it easier to get a good cheque. Bubba is quie capable f doing nothing over the next two months but the likelihood is he will have a week when things go his way and records a decen finish. When he clicks he is very good.

jim"s had a great career no doubt about that,
its just no matter how good a position he"s in,
why do i think somehow he isnt going to win?
i know he"s not keen on water lol

Those backing Furyk at 1.1 on the 11th/12th were rather brave.

When his contention his final rounds are always the same safe into the middle of the green and him dribbling his putts towards the hole. He was a tad unfortunate clark had a great back nine but there were birdies out there. His safety first strategy always leaves him vulnerable to a mistake or a good run of play.

100% mighty. Doesn't play to win, plays not to lose which is invariably what happens when you adopt that approach. Needs to grow a set but at 44 years of age he is probably set in his ways.

in general I agree completely, strangely tho I think this time it was the right play - ie safety conservatively , I bet there isn't more than a handful of occasions in his entire career where someone's shot a 30 back 9 final day!
it was all about karma - shoulda shouted fore instead of being a greedy tw@t!!!
he will win one by season end, playing crazy good at the moment.

furyk made a bogey at the right time for clark

it was the first putt under 6 feet he had missed for ages, and he never really
got the putter going again, whereas clark holed nearly everything

had furyk holed that putt the door may not have been open

funny thing head to head and little things make a big difference

tigr never opened the door when in his prime
