The punters love Bubba. Stake back at 21s, nice trade. Webb Simpson the latest, found his groove last week, prior US Open winner and lives not too far away and has played the course many times. Still some value at 55s.

yep im looking between webb, micko and my old boy furyk as always for us opens heh
By:
ive backed stricker, 66/1
id love to see phil mick win |
By:
stricker is my all time fave, but i think the shortened season is finally beginning to dampen his touch a bit :(
By:
maybe so, but he did ok in 1999 and has played ok on his reduced schedule
its a guessing game who scrambles and putts well on these greens, and he has a much better chance than most, imo |

By:
Bernd Wiesberger - World Number 60 (moves up 9 places for his w/end efforts) and books his 7am flight from Vienna to Charlotte NC - (displacing Pablo Larrazabal to 61st).

Rhino,
The official site FYI..... http://www.usopen.com/en_US/course/index.html |

Stricker had a massive chance last year and was woeful on Sunday. Merion was short, suited him. This is long and looks like it will be dampened so the lack of length will hurt. Will have to putt out of his skin and not miss a beat with the short game. Tall order over 4 days at his age. Good luck though Donny, I too am a fan. Class act Stricker.

Monday Practice Round Tee Times
You likely won’t find these anywhere on the course, and in fact, they’ve yet to even be printed in the media center. But since you can use your phone on practice rounds, here are the current practice round tee times for Monday at the 2014 U.S. Open: NOTE: These are subject to change. More players may be added to this list throughout the day, and then again, they may not necessarily be released in time for the player to tee off. For example, Angel Cabrera is on the range as we speak. Follow us on Twitter @PinehurstResort for updates throughout the day. First Tee 6:45 Martin Kaymer, Maximillian Kieffer 6:56 Fran Quinn 7:18 Simon Griffiths 7:29 Bill Horschel, Matt Every, Brett Stegmaier 7:40 Oliver Fisher, Jamie Donaldson 8:02 Andrea Pavan, Francesco Molinari, Oliver Goss 8:13 Hyung-Sung Kim, Seung-Yul Noh 8:24 Danny Willett, Shane Lowry 8:35 David Toms, Tom Lewis, Smylie Kaufman, John Senden 8:46 Ken Duke, Kevin Streelman 8:57 Henrick Norlander, Niclas Fasth, Pablo Larrazabal9:08 Nicholas Mason 12:30 Justin Leonard, Kevin Sutherland, Jordan Speith, Cody Gribble 12:41 Brandt Snedeker, Hunter Stewart, Alex Cejka 12:52 Gary Woodland, Harris English, Dustin Johnson, J.B. The 33/1 available on Stenson looks a big price to me especially as it would seem he has an affinity for Donald Ross designed courses. Henrik finished in a tie for 4th at Oakland Hills in the 2008 PGA Championship, a tie for 3rd at last years PGA Championship at Oak Hill and recorded an easy victory in the Tour Championship at East Lake all courses being designed by this weeks course designer.
There was no surprise about his slow start to this season after last years heroics but his game has been coming to hand nicely in the past few months with good finishes at Augusta (T14) and Wentworth (T7), courses which he has had little to no success on. Add to that a solid 5th place finish at his home open on his last start, it would surprise me if he's not contending on Sunday attempting to capture that elusive first major. |
By:
As well rolling up and backing a big price in the virtuals at Brushwood or somewhere. No one on this earth has a clue who will win this week.
Could be Rory or a 1000 chance. Me, I like Bubba but am ready for any outcome. |
By:
and J B Holmes is tipped in various twitter columns so would be no surprise to see follow the leader tipping there.

ONE MAJOR storyline the yanks will love to go on, and on, AND on, about this week will be their favourite child...
WILL IT BE LUCKY NUMBER SEVEN for Mickelson in his quest to complete his career Grand Slam...6 second's in this Major. Driving? “I’m driving it very well.” Iron play? “Not very good this final round.” (yesterday at TPC Southwind) Putting? “Pathetic.” Mickelson switched last week to the same putter he used to win the 2013 Open Championship. He’d been using a blade putter for several weeks. “Sometimes I just have to change it up to get a little bit different feel,” he said. He also returned to the claw putting grip in the middle of the fourth round. “I need to putt a lot better than I did this week and I have a few things in my irons to work on but, for the most part, pretty solid four days,” he said. A victory this week would be the convergence, and culmination, of several storylines. Last year’s dramatic Open Championship victory left Mickelson just a U.S. Open win away from joining Gene Sarazen, Gary Player, Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as the only men to win all four of golf’s majors in the modern era. |

Had some more of Webb at 50s, price headed in the right direction. Used the small Palmer profit to add Kirk, added Keegan at 85s. This is going really well
![]() Best price of the week is Bubba - but not for this, why is he 51s for The Open with some books? I opened a 365 account just to back it E/W. They gave me a bonus, so used the bonus to double down. |
By:
The Bubba train seems relentless, all the way to 2nd fav perhaps ?
By:
they musn't have seen him $hittn himself on 15th few weeks ago imo
playing with scott first 2rounds |
By:
The logic is presumably that a bad forecast = wet course = favours a bomber. Just like last week when noted bomber Ben Crane tore it up.
By:
Good shout rhino... have availed myself of some of that. Not a bad Open record really and could see him going off half that price.
By:
Shouldn't Rory be nose diving as well given his record on softened courses? Think it's mark of respect given the form this year and think it's relative to his chances of winning.
By:
going with Dustbin J.B. Bubba and Ruaraiugh...the rest can f off.

No point bombing the course if one isn't accurate enough.
Webbio slowly coming back into form....every time i look at Webbio, my guts goes ping ping ping..... |
By:
Best bets for me this week Bill Haas 80/1 ew and Charl Schwartzel 50/1 ew. Both have played well at Riviera. ( Approach shots into greens similar to this)Charl Top 5 last two years and Billy has won and 3rd in his last 3 attempts at the above mentioned. Both have solid recent form Billy T8th and Charl T8th in the Memorial.

Currently 69 999/1 pokes in the field. These majors do get some dross entered.
By:
a fair few would be 10 000 if it was available
By:
At least. If BF opened it up to no limit i'm sure Bertie Big B0ll0x( whoever he is these day since Eddie retired) would go a million a few of them for a couple of quid.Especially the old boys in the Masters.

Imagine laying Watson at 10000 at Turnberry, that would have been fun watching him hit that mid iron at the 72nd
By:
Time flies ,something was mentioned at home today which made me think of that Open ,nearly 5 years ago.Trading around 1.3 with an 8 iron to the green. So nearly the greatest ever sporting moment for me.
By:
Scary game wasen't 2nd last week a 1000? in it till the 72nd aswell
By:
So it seems roughly what the archetypal winner may be - long hitter who hits it high, reasonably straight and can find the greens, who can scramble and putt reasonably.
3 that stand out to me are: Bubba Watson - Looks ideal although his chipping can be slightly ropey. The price has gone anyway so I'll leave that. Sergio Garcia - Looks absolutely perfect for the course, but there's something missing. Not sure what it is though ![]() Keegan Bradley - Fits the profile well, can be hit and miss but if he can putt well see no reason why he won't contend. He'll do for me at 75. Hours of study and I've found the grand total of 1 ![]() |
