its not about showing just golf shots. People complained about showing woods and ww in the scoring hut, i enjoyed that.
its all part of the atmosphere

Heinz, your love in with the BBC defies logic.

You were probably one of Hi tlers advisors in 1941 who agreed with him that Stalingrad had to be taken whatever the cost.  LaughLaugh

The BBC coverage would be great if it was the 80s but because we have computers we know that scores are moving up and down minutes before we see them.

It does not take much  thought to shoew as many live shots of players within 5 of the lead. I'm sure that yesterday I saw as much of Colsearts as I did of Mahan.

working class twerps(the majority on here) are not qualified to have an opinion on the BBCs coverage.
You do not have the necessary intellectual or artistic sensibilities to know what constitutes a good programme.

Does Hazel Irvine have a bee in her bonnet about women , glass ceilings , female only golf clubs , high heels on hallowed greens  , etc .  She seems to be intent on trying to goad the R and A man into  saying something which creates news .  But thankfully he is too shrewd for her .  But I wish she would give over .

Few of us approve of men only clubs , reason initially had something to do with the difficulty of the course and the absence of shorter carries without major reconstruction . But as Peter says , St Andrews has 2 female only clubs , 3 men only clubs , plus the public and the citizens of St Andrews all playing happily on the same links .

It was all summed up by the garrigus 100+ foot putt on i think the 15th or 16th hole on Friday.... Now its obvious that theyre not going to show live coverage of a player ten over par but dont insult my intelligence by pretending it is live. "is this going in is it....is it..... IS IT?" Cry

i would love to see what they paying alliss and is cronies for this weeks love in.
why do the beeb need so many people to cover any event,be it wimbledon, the golf or even something like glastonbury.
every one else is trying to cut back, but they throw money round like theres no tomorrow.

This is my main beef about the BBC coverage too

The numbers jumping on the gravy train

That fair haired young man who contributes absolutely fook all poncing about making unfunny and annoying comments

Also I noticed the item they did on picking litter was done by that short haired asian woman who reads the news on the andrew marr programme

What the fook is she doing there and how much is she being paid.A nice little jolly at licence payers expense for her

On the positive side I quite liked seeing inside the scorers cabin at the end of play to see the interraction or lack of between woods and westwood

Allis comments were quite amusing too.

What the fook is she doing there

Likes her golf does Naga Munchetty..

And pretty fair at it. Think she won a decent comp down sarf not too long ago.

And plays in lots of pro-ams..

Here's my views for what little they're worth!

Firstly, the amount of coverage is awesome! To be able to put the TV on at any time of the day and watch it is good.

I personally think they shouldn't concentrate as much on the golfers in the lead. Show them more than others but just not as much. It's like there's nobody else playing!

I'm also not interested in anybody's profile. I just wanna see them play. I don't play golf so my opinions are gonna be far different from people that do.

For instance, watching a slow motion shot of somebody swinging their club bores the hell out of me, but if I played it I'd probably like it.

I think that if people are playing, don't start showing interviews, or people's profiles etc. Show them when there's nothing going on.

Anyway, I'm just being picky. I don't want to moan too much cos overall the coverage has been excellent!

No coverage of Mickelson/Molinari (tied 8th) since the 2nd hole.

Not 1 shot.  Instead we watch Scott and Woods walk down the 1st for 45seconds/1 minutes while Peter Aliss bleats on about f*cking Swallows or some such sh*t.

Coverage is the same as is was 30 years ago and has not moved forward in any way shape or form.

Woeful.
