Just tuned in to BBC2 golf coverage to hear the peerless Peter Aliss droning on -apparently some golfer called bobby dazzler is playing very well.Anyone noticed whether Peter has referred to  the seagulls yet-
E

I guess if you like Aliss's style of commentary you must hark back to the 1950's,Dixon of Dock Green and all that. The sooner Sky TV ,Rob Lee and Sarah Stirk  in 2016 take over and we move into the 21st century so much the better.

If you are not interested in the golf, not interested why the camera has not picked up the ball and are not interested in whether the shots are live then the BBC are great

I'd rather see live golf than all the interuptions - 'pieces',  recaps, and player interviews etc. No reason to have the interviews in full screen at all

I know from previous years we are in for a fair bit of waffle on Saturday before live golf is shown, and won't tune in until after lunchtime

'd rather see live golf than all the interuptions - 'pieces'

They surpassed themselves in the middle of the day by doing a 'piece' about litter being picked up from the course, wf next? A piece about the portaloos?

Cameramen are terrible unable to track golf balls aah well good to see our licence money being well spent

BBC golf cameramen used to be the best , but it was when they covered golf tournaments .  The Open is to a large extent a media circus betimes , and the presenters are trying to make their one big sally a year into golf a thing of beauty for the viewers . Those of us who only want to watch the guys hitting shots are of secondary importance .

Still enjoyable though , and the absence of ads has to be a big bonus .

what is being said. He almost never says anything interesting or enlightening.

Who is the genius at the BBC who seems to have decided that rather than watch live golf we would much rather listen to Hazel bloody Irvine wittering on about nothing ?

Is that so,Sherlock ?

A red button that shows an out of date leaderboard and a small screen in the corner. Thanks for nothing.
Compared to previous years the interactive coverage is appalling.

it was funny watching cabrera bello play the first, bbc showed him watching his partners second shot, but failed to
show us viewers the shot, whilst the commentators chuntered on !

seemed to sum up the broadcast this year

Is there no flexibility in there coverage? Are they unable to maneuver cameras about the course ffs?

Last year's runner up and just 2 off the lead, Adam Scott has been invisible to the cameras

Anyone would think it was the final of the world matchplay with blanket coversage of woods and westwood

The director wants shooting

Golf bosses tell Beeb - sort out your coverage or we'll take it elsewhere
