Regarding this grounding the club business................how is what Fowler did allowed? Are we saying he is allowed to touch the grass as long as he doesnt rest the club on the ground???

That seems to be what sky are suggesting now............so how did Brian Davis get disqualified from that play off a few years ago for 'brushing' a plant leaf in the water hazard. Isnt that the same?

Its exactly the same Jimmy.

Fowler broke the rules and it looks like hes gotten away with it.

Thats what i thought Eboue.

However when sky were talking about it they commented that they had sought the advice of some pro's and they were saying what Fowler did WASNT a penalty because he only touched the grass and didnt actually ground the club....... surelly if he touches the grass then thats 'grounding'...........it always has been as far as long as ive been playing!

This is a point  id be interested in because i lost my clubs April medal last year on this rule (i touched a reed whilst addressing my ball in a dry'd out pond).

There is no penalty for touching anything growing in a hazard, Davis touched a twig that was not attached, the rules say something like, the full weight of the club must not rest on the ground, thats not the right wording but something around that?

Interesting that Sky have not mentioned it since saying someone tweeted in pointing out that it was no penalty.  They made such a big deal about it at the time with all 3 of them in the studio saying it was a penalty.  Surely it merits some more discussion?

surely touching the grass is "testing the surface" or is that a differn't rule?

re fowler

Grounding your club requires you to rest its weight on the ground, which is illegal in a hazard. You are, however, permitted to brush growing grass in setting up and in your backswing

Brian Davis hit a reed at the Heritage, that was a loose impediment. Different than grass growing, which is rooted.

Tiger is the man.....

He loves foursomes in the bedroom.

And birdies on the golf course.

The man is a legend.

Porn stars on a Saturday night, major wins on a Sunday night.

He is the greatest golfer that has ever walked this earth.

he has bottle in abundance and a man to trust with your hard earned like no other.

every shot he ever hits is filmed. could not give a flying phuck if he spits, swears, throws a club or shags the girl behind the clubhouse bar.

he is the man................

With his conversion rate from 54 hole leading positions you would reckon he should be 1.09ish or less.
