He wouldn't be second favourite if Donald or Scott had played recently.

Charl is in good form, but none of it was stateside.

Usual suspects like DJ, Kooch, Mahan and Webb haven't done much this year, though the latter two were good in patches last week.

Basically there are question marks over most of the people around his price, so I can see why he's getting some love. It's tight at the top.

Usual suspects tend to play average then bang wham, they win. Mahan will no doubt win soon then fade away for the rest of the year. These guys tend to win once a year. Look at Mickleson....nowt then stormed to victory with ease. Webb will win in the summer and Dj when he feels like it.

Garcia won't win this year. Westwood/Donald may come close and may even win but i doubt it.

It be Rory and Tiger most of the time....2 or 3 wins each. The rest one.....the pretenders to the throne nowt.

I agree that the 'usual suspects' bob up and win here and there, and no-one will be surprised if one of the ones listed wins this week. I suppose the feeling is that Sergio is more likely to give backers a run for their money because he's in form.

Personally I'd rather a few of the others at the prices - Donald and Scott for two - but I can see why Sergio is (slightly) favoured.

@Ski....what chance do you give Snedeker to win again this year, I have become a big fan of his.

He will win again this year......but which tourney?......odds will be much lower now so probably no value in him any more.

These are who I rate to have the best chance of winning a major this year.
Tiger
Rory
Snekky
Keegan
Mickelson

it's too simplistic to say, 'afternoon guys = lay'so often you see morning leader on say -7 and some afternoon guys are like -4 thru 7 or 8 and one starts thinking, 'maybe he can get to -7 if not -8 as well'.'good golfers gonna good golf' that's my mantra.having said that, my mantra means there a million guys i would love to back at juicy prices. have to exercise some serious self control here.

7 back from what ?

He had a one shot lead after round one, as did Phil last year.

Ski.... Must have taken a lot of thought to pick those guys out as your likely major winners.

So many in with a shout this week in a good field at a great course. Walker and Watson seem two obvious choices, but im backing Kuchar this week. Good start to the season, couple of weeks off so comes here fresh and his record here aint bad either.

Jimmy Walker's claims are obvious but his price is a joke compared to some around him in market. The 18th at Pebble on Sunday tells yiu the type of player we're dealing with.

Have gone with..
Scott
Baddeley
Haas.

I imagine Sergio will be very focused on preparing as thoroughly as possible for the Masters and a win here would set him up no end. Actually, no matter who wins will have that nice break to come out firing again in April. Phil is a lay for me but odds too high for me yet.
