He hit it 60 yards left with a 3 wood Maggot, get real you know full well what it was. Sick of morons like you who don't want to read certain truths on here. It is very relevant to discuss it on a golf forum when the world number 2 collapses with a tournament in his grasp. If you can't hack it p!ss off

That was as obvious a 'choke' as you will ever see, anyone who thinks otherwise is biased in some way or another. The same goes for Chad Campbell and Nick O'Hearn.

Choke, or not. It didn't come as a great surprise, considering that he has been shocking off the tee all week.

Wasn't really that much of a surprise that Aussie waited until that precise moment to inform us all that he had laid the wee man.

He waited 71.25 holes to give us that gem.Crazy

Aussie,
You're saying that shot off 18 was a choke?  He's been all over the shop off the t all week (and weeks before actually) so was every wayward t shot a choke?

Or, could it not just be the case that he's struggling with his game at the minute?

You're hatred of a talented young player is quite pathetic!

Rorys fault has been left for weeks. All his misses this week were left. His swing let him down on 18 with a three wood he should have been making sure he was in play.

In fairness to McIlroy i thought he stuck at it well this week. He did well to go so close considering he was far from his best.

What a grade A c0ck you are AD.As already stated not sighted all week until the 72nd hole.
No doubt you managed to lay lowest price as well.

Deficiencies of Oz golfers Golfvet? We have 5 players in the top 50, considering we're a nation of 25 million people, I'd say we're at least pulling our weight. We just don't have a Greg Norman type at the moment but let's be fair, not many do.

I'm not comparing them to Rory mate, none of them are as good as he is, just saying all things considered we are probably where we should be.

An enjoyable thread to read upon awakening, looks like some sore losers here this morning.

Frames last constructive post without having a crack at a forumite anyone? I am going with sometime in 2007

SuperFrothy is right, anyone thinking that was not a choke either did not see it (which is the case with some forumites it would seem given the time of posting) or is biased in the extreme. It warrants mentioning given his standing in the game. Some can't cope with that, I guess acknowledging he has an issue with pressure is too much for some, they would rather take pot shots (see 20:57 post).

And yes, Nick Ohern chocked in exactly the same way, no question. I am not sure he is spoken up in the same way though is he? And I could not find the Nick Ohern thread either

Normans choke on that last day of the masters when 6 clear will live with me for ever.

I was already counting my winnings.

He was like a rabbit in the headlights, to lose to that tit Faldo as well.
By:

Norman choked at Augusta, without doubt

He did win 88 times though, so if you are comparing the two you are delusional at this point

Not sure how that is relevant though Par? Seems maybe a diversion from the real question, which we all know the answer to except rather than address that some just want to slag off

Two previous rounds when the pressure was nowhere near as high, he blasts the same club 300 yards down the middle and makes birdie.

Final round, with the pressure at its highest and a great chance to win infront of him, he practically snap hooks the same club into the water.

Swing faults or not, that is a choke.

When: 11 Jun 12 12:27
I would be on the side McIroy did not choke yesterday. It was just one of many bad shots he has been hitting for weeks. He just happened to hit this wayward shot at the 72nd hole with water around and when he was tied for the lead.
When you see golfers choke it is generally because they are affraid to win wheh they get into position but i dont think McIlroy has any such fear. He loses from so many good positions because he seems to play the wrong shot at the wrong time.
Dont think he will ever be a prolific winner as the greats of the game though.
By:
SuperFrothy
When: 11 Jun 12 12:32
The argument that he has 'been hitting bad shots for weeks' is ridiculous. The way some people on here are talking you would think he was a Sunday morning hacker who couldn't hit the ball straight to save his life. Yesterday's 3 wood was a good 60 yards off line!! He hasn't been driving the ball as well as he can lately but he hasn't been hitting snap hooks every tee shot! Unbelievable...
By:

When: 11 Jun 12 12:37
Of course he choked, he was shyting himself, that is why he launched himself at the ball.

Any golfer with a brain would have bailed out right.

Coltart was spot on with his description of the shot and quite rightly said that he has no chance at Olympic.

I will be backing him to miss the cut.

why theses paddys like harrington and rory tamper with their swings is beyond me... take away rorys 3 missed cuts in a row and his results and consistency have been world class obv to take him to world number 1. I remember an interview at the wgc matchplay when he stated my swing changes im not fully used to yet, then again pre another tournament.

Personally think that Rory is a stat man, and knowing that nobody has ever Won the US Open after Winning the week previously he deliberately hooked the ball into the water Grin

It is quite a simple debate.

He is a great wee player on his day.

Is not and never will be  a T Woods.

However if you want to go skint, just keep taking short prices him, especially in running.

This is a gambling forum, that is all that matters.

He will win as often as Bubba Watson , yet Bubba will start at 70 whilst yer man will be around 14 'sh.

I think Rory is very similar to Norman and Mickleson. When he is on form he is superb. All three had/have the ability to blow a field away. All could charge through a field and shoot low rounds.

When i was younger Norman was my favourite player but his temperament under pressure was always suspect. He through away plenty of majors over the years.
