I can't see any evidence of Donald having claimed at 73. He shot 75, and signed for 75. No? If some work experience yank on the scoreboard has added it up wrong then that's not Donald's fault. There's no way that Donald has tried to cheat - he's not a footballer ffs.

golfers know what they scored, very odd that he didnt notice that "3" and thought "i didnt birdie that hole"
When we wake up in the morning we will find that he wont be teeing up for the 2nd round. |

anyone noticed that mickelsons swing looks different

he signed for a 75 aberdonia, the problem is that the numbers the scorer saw didnt seem to add up to 75 because the score on the fifth has been inputted as a 3 which would make them add up to 73.
Donald signing for the right total won't be relevant as the total isn't the player's responsibilty, only the hole scores., it will all be down to whether there's any doubt about the number on the fifth, which only the people who have seen it can know. If there's doubt, he'll have a case because he's written down the right total. |

theres a huge diff between a 3/5--really weird

you saying you've honestly never written a 5 and had it look like a 3?
|
|
By:
If you got 4 and put down 5 then the result stands.....if you got 4 and put down 3 then disqualified.....simple as that....so what exactly happened with Luke....

Perhaps Luke Donald's handicap has slipped to 2 and 73 was his nett score. |

World number one Luke Donald appeared to be facing possible disqualification from the Masters at Augusta over discrepancy with his scorecard.
Donald three-putted the fifth hole during an opening round that was originally posted as a three-over-par 75. But after he had finished, a birdie three went up on the scoreboard for the fifth hole and his total was changed to 73. The issue was raised with the competition committee, who announced they were "looking at it further". |
|
By:
what happened with luke seems to be that he put the total right but apparently the scorer read his score at the fifth as a 3 even though he took 5 so it added up to two less
Only the people who have seen the card will have a clue as to how ambiguous it is. |
|
By:
im agreeing with u lori

Can you imagine the backlash if Donald stays in, gets a 73 and wins by a couple of shots. Holy cow...
