|
|
By:
back 9
really tough from 14 onwards except for the 16th which is a fairly straight forward par 5 suits the longer hitters this track, tough test imo |

Might have done it wrong with Tiger.

Woods 2 3 putts last on the par 5 where he had 26 foot putt for eagle.
Madness, his putting and apporaches with the wedge are so bad compared to 5 years ago. |

Looking forward to following Mr.William McGirt on Shot tracker tonight obviously wont see him on T V. 2/9 down in 2 from just off the green in his last 36 Competitive holes. As a famous bloke said "It can only get better". Go Billy !!

tiger struggling with the putter, but knocking 320yard drives in the fairway for fun these days
-2/3 be a very good start here for him, sure he be pleased with that. |

By:
this par 5 6th hole looks a good hole on shot tracker, anyone know the distance tee to green if the go straight across the water?

Chelsea i agree his long game is better that it ever was and his bunker play is sublime.
However the putting thing really is key, he seems to all over the place in his thinking, to hit his eagle putt near 5 foot by is mental mush rather than poor stroke. His short irons are all over the place, he used to hit it inside 20 foot regulary with those clubs but now its 40ft sometimes and that puts extra pressure again on his putter. Look at the amount of people over par shows it that it is not a easy course but Tiger for me keeps putting extra pressure on himself. He hit a 3 wood 300+ on the 18 hole he can smash it with the best of them. He also does not attack like he usd too which is frustrating at times. Needs to get those short irons sorted and then his putting would be under so much pressure but obviously his strategy around the greens at times is poor. Swing looks really good tho, another drive 328...there on the 6th |

By:
yeah---for long drives--poor aproach shots---the par3s hes not close
|
|
By:
Tiger hit his drive too far and had to wedge it out to a 8 iron into the hole.
Unbelievable if he can birdie one of these par 5 in the past 3 holes. |
|
By:
18 footer for biridie now....Right down the flat stick looking at shottracker. Again more pressure on his putting.

yes mate his driving and his swing looking lovely fair play, he has got length back again these days, up there with the longer hitters.
I agree with you about the putting though, seems like he's always leaving 2 or 3 strokes out there (apart from the 62 at the honda) by poor putting, also the play with the short irons is poor, he has been putting himself in the fairway within wedge / 9iron yardage fairly regularly of late, yet knocking it to 30/40 foot. As Eldrick himself would say though "its all part of the process" ![]() think the putting has a lot to do with confidence too, if he gets a couple of wins and gets the belief back he will give it a better roll no doubt, leaving lots of putts short these days can only signal lack of / low confidence. but as I said -2 start here still very good, its tough playing out there. |

golf channel up and running yet?
Oh yeah tiger made his birdie from 18 foot |
|
By:
Tiger 12 feet for Birdie and looks like the wind is whipping around.
Tiger very lucky to get out in the morning mind you he is fine in the wind not sure about the rest ![]() |
|
By:
for all his troubles, Tiger tied for second here and an excellent start, worthy and clear favourite here, happy to be on at 9.4.
looking at shot tracker he's stiffed one right over the flag again to 12foot. |

Solid round by Tiger but again plenty of missed chances. -3 was okay return on a deeply impressive round off the tee and from his long sticks.
Again a few missed putts could be costly come Sunday. I not sure will he be happy or furious as he let a few slip bye and looked to strike the ball very well. |

Down in 2 from side of the green for McGirt .On the up!
