In all seriousness .... I have had some bad news involving a family member. Will start this challenge some other time.

Back today after some family issues to deal with .... sadly relatives seem to be dropping like flies.
 Still have a few things to attend to and need to spend time with my wife so will look to start this challenge once I am settled and ready to get back into it .... hope everyones betting is going well. |

After a difficult few weeks finally back .... ready to get this challenge going. Will start from scratch so the challenge outline is as follows:
Starting Bank: £1K Target: £100K Markets: Mainly horses and greyhounds Withdrawals: Will withdraw £100 each day (will reflect this in the daily update). Will try and be sensible and not bet on anything and everything but naturally I can't promise this  . Played a bit this morning but on the whole was gone for most of the morning ... got back and played and played some more ... all going quite well until I got caught thinking Ned was going beat SA in the T20 inrunning (I did have green up bets set but not triggered)not to mention my lay of England and then had this notion that Sharapova was going to run away with the match in the tennis .... yep lost again. Played some more and all hope was lost until I layed heavily a low odds fav in the USA horses (if it had lost I would the bank would have been £700) ... but thankfully it lost and hence I am back to a profitable day. Time for Arrow and recorded Revolution me thinks .... anything to keep me away from the greyhound TV racing which I love ...The bots still exist ... if I had left them alone I would be around £87 in profit today. Well woke up ... grabbed a coffee, checked my emails and then (as I should have learnt by now) .... come Saturday's lots more favs lose in the horse racing. Layed (ir I did dare) a fav ir (2yrs old won LTO) to win £100 (layed around 1.72) .... now I could keep playing or spend time setting up some bots for later. Come on Undern do the right thing ...

Been a good solid day .... nearly got everything right ... and a good increase to the challenge bank. One important thing is that I didn't feel the need to play anything and everything. Busy again tomorrow so will set up the bots (had 3 of them running today although most greyhound selections were filtered out) and see how it plays out. Sober or not, why play every day?
If I knew I had a 100K pay packet coming, would I rush? Infact, do you realize with a starting bank of £1,000 and increase 6% a day, you'll be done in 80 days? So what is the rush? When you hit 2,400, you were way ahead of schedule and can slow down. So why not stay sane? Set the gain and stop losses. If you hit 8% gains, you are done. If at any time the bank rolls back 5%, you stop. For Stop Loss, it is in 'real time'. Thus, if you have 2,000 at the start of your day and gain 7% to 2,140, if you go back to 2040, you LOST 5% and it is time to walk away. It does not mean if you go to 1,900 at that point. Translated, it means you will never loose more than 5% and all that does is add an additional day to your target. It means you have to tinker with your exposure on your betting and bots rather than betting more events. But ask yourself, what is the rush? Roll on the marathon versus a sprint analogy..... |

Everytime I do something stupid I decide the quickest way to get back quickly is to take on any short priced runner/team I can ... which made it even worse. I got dinged in-running today (horse went to 1000, I didn't close the lay, three fallers and it won!) and rather than attack the loss, continued and made back 20% of it over the afternoon AND tonight on football. |

Funny enough Shapeshifter .... I layed the exact same horse .... had to rush out somewhere. Watched it until it hit high odds ... saw that it was coming 4th and falling back so took off out of the house only to return not realising what had happened ....

A profitable day with a few downs along the way - been out tonight ... nice win on over 1.5 goals ip on the MU footy game. Will play a bit tomorrow morning but I have some work to get on with and also out most of afternoon .... I understand where you are coming from however the problem is when the staking gets higher and higher (which I don't tend to handle too well) and things like the greyhound markets for my bot (seems to be filtering lots of selections out recently) don't have the volume for me to put much more on ... anyway lets see how I get on ....
currently today is as follows: Aussie: Greyhound Racing: £81.57 | Horse Racing: -£9.32 Total P&L: £72.25 UK: Horse Racing: £110.82 Total P&L: £110.82 Played a bit last night on the USA racing ... so easy sometimes and other times so bloody hard. Out soon for early arvo. Bots set up but doubt there will be many bets due to filtering. |

U.S. horse racing a mindfield for bots. Those who use exchanges are aware of them and take advantage. Will push in prices with very little money to push out markets on others. Real money is coast to coast and what is 12/1 on betfair will be pushed to 19/1 with small bets when they know the money is going to come to offices and push it to 5/1 while the odds react slowly.
They laugh with cigars in hand, their gold chains jiggling. The only way to make money on U.S. is to look for value in form. All the above told to me by a pro in the states. |

Well the bad news or is it good news
 ... a phone call a second ago completely wiped out what I was supposed to be doing this afternoon ... so guess I will stick around in the office and play on the computer all day .... I will be sensible and be patient with my betting ....The bots I use are one for greyhound (UK), two for horses (UK) .... all the other betting is done without a bot simply by me. Some markets I use common-sense, other markets I use certain "trigger" points be it odds movements and/or specific patterns in a runners times/LTO results and how I think the race will pan out. Other markets are pure "intelligent" guess work .... hey I even think something will happen and deliberately bet on the opposite happening |

I tell you what I can be so wasteful with my betting ... too easy to give it back thinking I can simply it back again if things don't go my way .... some wasteful betting this arvo especially when I was expecting to be at a meeting all arvo.
