Check your accounts, it looks like union has been included in the overall pc calculation this week

No. The Primera Division offer ended recently. The current Rugby Union PC Exemption offer is due to last until the start of June. The original Rugby Union PC Rebate offer was abandoned months ago.

Please note that there is no Premium Charge on Rugby Union markets until 1st June 2014, and you only have to pay 0.75% on Asian Handicap markets until 24th May 2014.

Charlatan if you look at what was deducted at midday I think you may find it was correct.  I.e. It should be Less than what is shown on your incorrect portal.  I.e. No refund has I stated earlier, but correct implementation at midday.  Well that's what happened to mine. I think Crazy

It's shocking that this has to be checked by you guys in the first place. What has become of the once mighty fair. Sad

While I didn't have anything to pay this week, one assumes that the portal will, at some point, need to be adjusted to reflect this otherwise future calculations are going to be off?

I'm the same had nothing to pay either way, but my buffer has been (wrongly) eaten into.
Hopefully there will be no issues, because can you imagine trying to sort this out 2 or 3 weeks down the line?
By:

agreed.

i haven't got to the dreaded £250k yet, so having the amount count towards my totals (even with a refund) is no good.

if they extended this offer indefinitely (looks very unlikely) i'd retire at £250k aside from the rugby.

as opposed to retiring from betfair altogether

wonder how many have retired from the game due to the PC
By:

That's what Betfair want surely.
By:
pulio
When: 14 Feb 14 00:16
well surely any strategy is moot when you reach the higher PC levels? It would take a huge edge to cope with PC at that level or some kind of PC neutralization techniques, if you know what i mean
By:
pulio
When: 14 Feb 14 00:19
surely its a matter of time before purple follow suit as well?

the fact that so many are on here still paying pc speaks volumes as to what types of punters they are. well "punter" would be the wrong term I guess.

What is a shame is that a punter who has, after years of losing, finally gained the knowledge and skill to make the game pay and could potentially win loads, gets hit with high PC & makes it all a waste of time really.

An important issue that no one has mentioned is whether all of these pc free "offers" are acknowledged by the customers who are "accepting" them by default.

As a PC payer I automatically consider all profits and losses to be 60% of what is on my screen.

I was unaware of the offer on union and as such punted in a way that I almost certainly wouldn't have done if I had known the deal.

Bayes - It was in the PC newsletter and, it seems, selected accounts were made aware of it before that too (I was not one of those but learnt about it through this place).

No, in the PC newsletter it said 'we are running a trial'. It didn't specify this applied to all PC payers. It might well have been something trialed for only a few people, like the one where they did a trial with people paying a higher rate of basic commission instead of PC with the difference made up at the end.
By:

When: 14 Feb 14 21:12
I'm pretty sure it did and it said that if you didn't want to be involved you need to opt out.

John - Per yesterday's PC newsletter:

As you will no doubt be aware already we have launched a trial to see if by removing Premium Charge from all Primera Division and Rugby Union markets would we see an increase in activity. This is on a trial basis and should it prove successful we will look to extend it and potentially open it up to other sports.

The trial runs until 1st February 2014 for Primera Division and 1st June 2014 for Rugby Union. Winnings, losses, commission paid and generated will be removed entirely from your Premium Charge calculation and never appear on your Premium Charge statement.

If you wish to opt out of this trial please contact your Account Manager.

Yeah it doesn't specify it's for all PC payers, just that they are running a trial on all markets, although you could argue it's implied.
By:

Also, the newsletter was sent well after the trial was already in full swing, and it was the first I had heard of it from official channels.

I wonder if we will ever get a second premium account newsletter.  quite often these things disappear after the initial bout of enthusiasm.  for as far as i can see pc payers are generally less informed than others about offers and initiatives.  especially those without an account manager.  lets hope the newsletter hasn't died a death, or perhaps it has and I haven't been told. Scared .

What annoys me is that the trial dosent include Australian wallet rugby

I've already had 2 hazel. The one with the PC trial was the second one. It is a good idea in fairness.

Are you sure about that Ratkin?  I know it "the offer" didn't apply to Australian/NZ customers, but I was pretty sure that was where the restriction ended?

mine seems to be wrong again this week. can't work out how they've cocked it up. my pl/ is within £1.50 of being out by the profit i made on the six nations grand slam market though.
