If this £1000 win is before commission (I think this is what you mean) then
Commision generated is Implied+Paid/2, in this case £30+£50/2 = £40
So a overall a loss of £10 - you've lost £50 but have potential pc saving/buffer of £40 on 20% pc
Implied commission is 3% on losses so £30If this £1000 win is before commission (I think this is what you mean) thenCommision generated is Implied+Paid/2, in this case £30+£50/2 = £40So a overall a loss of £10 - you've lost £50 but have potent
It's possible, but unlikely. Even the biggest players on here though, would be on 5 % within 6 - 12 months if they took a break, due to the 15 % weekly deduction on Betfair points.

sweetchild - yes it is certainly possible in the early days and after a break as mentioned .
5% is also a lot easier to deal with as a round hypothetical figure

sweetchildofmine 19 Mar 13 17:22 is it possible to be paying premium charge and still be on 5% commission?
I pay the premium charge nearly every week and my discount rate is usually 4 - 6 %.
It is easily done if you don't play many markets and have steady but unspectacular wins and very few loses.

very very possible if your winning strategy is to always trade to an all green book and you've been doing it for any length of time.
or if you take some time off, because the 15% weekly points decay will eat away your discount pretty quickly.

got to admit, charlatan, when/if I hit 250K I'll probably pack it in too.
fortunately, barring a rule change it's not going to be an issue for quite a while.

i'm on 5% in part because i'm taking my time to reach the £250k threshold at which point i won't have another bet here. got to admit, charlatan, when/if I hit 250K I'll probably pack it in too. yes agreed.

so if you had no losers that week you would have to generate 80% commission to break even as they halve actual commission charged each week this is barmy imo
