OK.

WELCOME TO ME TO BETFAIR FORUM
I DECIDED THE FOLLOWING....

1. Everyone gambles to make a profit no one on earth gambles for fun. the only time you have fun is when you are on a winning streak £500+ maybe & don't mind putting few £s on silly bets for fun.

2. When only playing casino games & computer based games the maximun you will win is like £100 if you win more you have spent alot more in the long run, if you win £25-£100 from £1 bets DO NOT PLACE MORE BETS AS YOUR MONEY WILL BE EATEN if you do like playing computer based gamble games, then when you win switch games very reguarly.

3. Football bets & REAL Sports is a better way for profits regardless its all real 100% (apart from match fixing but normally us english haven't heard of that team? so why place a bet on it).

4. on Live dealer Casinos, When your in profit go back to smaller bets, in the early hours of the morning remember not many customers will be playing so do not go wild, don't go higher, because the table will be loosing profits & then your profits will go.

5. They is no safe way to bet. always keep pen & paper & write everything down each betting hour take reguarly rests to ensure your always making profits maybe watch some TV & have a cup of tea belive me the 5 minute rest even at a casino table helps.

6. If your betting in-place watch the event, would you really bet blinde?

7. I can't think of anymore. I am only 22, but i learned alot & lost alot & won alot But still learning & now controlling my wins, looses, & starting to see small profits to put in my business ventures.

thank you,

1. There are people who gamble for fun, which is completely acceptable. The issue is when profitable gamblers, have 'fun' side bets which always eat into their profits.

2. Casino games are not for those trying to make a profit in the long run.

3. Agree, mostly.

4. Casino games are not for those trying to make a profit in the long run.

5. There are methods to keep risk to a minimum. Logging bets is a must. Cups of tea and TV watching do not improve your edge in the casino.

6. Well, of course. Unless you have a solid trading method of some sort...

7. Great stuff.

valued comments FAFH, I personally am at a cross-roads in my gambling ventures as I am so tired of form compiling and have gone off the boil
latley as it is certain you need years of data records to arrive at valuable trends and I am venturing into trading now which although
another huge workload in the form of API app development is a more certain medium for retutning x profit!
Report bf_fananatic December 8, 2011 1:22 PM GMT

Report FINE AS FROG HAIR December 8, 2011 1:26 PM GMT
If you have the software writing skills to go the " inplay trading " route then I would agree that might be the best alternative.
But of course you still have to have the " nous" as to be able to excatly define where and how you think you can use the inplay odds movements to generate an effective guaranteed profit, as some seemingly do extremely successfully.
Out of my league this area of gambling is, and will remain forever so, I'm sorry to have to admit.
I have come too late to the game with too few of the required skills to be even a potential expert in play trader ( and I don't mean the guessing type- anybody can become one of those or at least try to ).

I can understand exactly what you mean as I am learning new programming languages to arrive at my goal and if I didnt have some
background in this area I would for certain be putt off with veturing down this route, I can say its not impossible for anyone to
learn prograsmming skills but its a long road and requires a lot of conviction.

For me one of the catalists for my personal application quest is the poor quality of whats available on the market these days

The only respectful ones are the excel linked types like gruss which allow you to personalise  triggers but although a great
facility, whats the point if you dont own the correct data for arriving at a profitable method
what yiou have to do is create databases for market data and then sift through this with filters historically to arrive at
valuable methods, this is where all comercial applications fall down and betfairs historical csv data is horibbly
thrown together with little concern for being user friendly, one wonders if betfair are trader friendly anymore
which is a reverse of its ethos that rose it to fame and fortune.

It is not possible to beat the casino.

Some people will win short term. Some people, by sheer weight of numbers will win long term.

But they have not beaten the casino, the casino is laughing all the way to the bank.

With the casino, even when you win you lose.

It's just chance.

If you have X pounds now, then your expected bank after your next casino bet is X-X*CasinoEdge, and no amount of staking or selection can change that.

Casino and Arcade are for complete mugs. If you realise this and get out of it then you have a chance. If you try to convince yourself otherwise then I have little respect.

Report ror December 8, 2011 3:14 PM GMT
It depends what you mean by win.

Can you go to a casino and leave with reasonably more than you entered? Yes, of course you can get lucky.

Can you do this regularly? No of course not.

Can you do anything to affect the chance you'll double your money? No, not really.

Whenever you play a casino game you are handing money to the casino. Casinos pay out less on average than they take in bets. That's how they profit. You can't change this. If you play blackjack you can give the casino MORE of an edge by playing "perfectly", but even with a perfect game the casino has an edge.

You can never engineer a bet in a casino where you have an edge.

I lost for more than 10 years and deeply enjoyed it, it's much more exciting to watch a match when your money is on the line, you feel the match from the inside it's a great feeling. And all these losses finally learned me how to win, so it's all benefit.
Report Wicked Whisper December 8, 2011 4:18 PM GMT
I've heard even card counters are favoured by the casino because the edge is so razor thin, they normally end up profiting either way.
Report ror December 8, 2011 4:30 PM GMT
Yes, casinos like to make a show of banning card counters to hype the illusion that people can make money card counting.

With modern deck rotations and shuffling machines, card counting won't get you an edge, but there's nothing the casino loves more than someone walking in who thinks they have an edge.

This is just like Hills etc who pretend they've taken a hammering any time a favourite wins a big race, or pretend they get cleaned out every time man u win the league.

It's all rubbish designed to keep the illusion alive that gambling can be a profitable pasttime for the punter.
