Hi Undern. Good to see they couldn't keep you down for long!
If you concentrate on the horses and greyhounds and keep your staking under control, I reckon you'll have good success. I'd be very careful about the 'occasionally other markets' bit though... How's the recovery from your operation going? Are you back to full strength yet? |
By:
Hey LB - still not allowed to drive but going okay. Have specific exercises to do which will hopefully strengthen the hip.
Yeh I thought you would pick up on the 'other markets' bit ... definitely looking to play more sensibly. My last challenge averaged £43 per day profit (although it did average a lot higher at certain stages) ... and felt slightly deflated by that stat knowing how much time and effort I put into it. just felt I could do better ... so spent some money on some equipment for the business and nice things for the house (a new laptop being one of them) and thought best to get on and start again ... Although it might not be as exciting as the last one I am just hoping to reduce the wild swings a bit as I was getting more and more aggravated as I went along ... |
By:
I won't be placing as many bets as last time and I definitely won't be posting up my system selections. But I have already started my mini-challenge (£25 starting bank) ...
Caroline Wozniacki 1.04 £25.59 £1.02 Ref: 16586454421 Bet matched:13:34 04-Oct-11 (simply because brownie21390 selected it for his first bet and figured he (gulp) get done on his first bet) ... |
By:
Whoops meant to say didn't think he would get done on his first bet ....
|
By:
Yeah, sorry about the 'other markets' dig!!
Less excitement would be good though! In fact, the duller and staider this thread is, the better you'll be doing. If everything goes well, I'm hoping to be falling asleep in a couple of weeks.. (Mind you, watching Wozniacki simply pushing the ball back at some loser tends to have that effect. She's one of the few players I enjoy watching more when she's sitting in her chair then when she's actually playing!) |

GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK UNDERN. GOOD LUCK YOU KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!!

Undern nice to see you back mate hope your healthy just wondering how long did you have a break for and did you continue watching horse racing or was it a complete break and do you feel you've benefited from the break

excellent. here we go again.. missed this thread.
undern i thought you didn't use software and just preferred the normal betfair interface!? |
By:
Thanks guys. Will give it my best shot.
Paulme - I am not here to reply to your every question but will answer occasionally. I am using in the main - system selecting and automated software - simply so I don't get too involved in betting on too many markets on BF as well as reducing the time I spend on here. Still working out a few things but over time I hope to settle things down to the extent I hope their will be some days where I simply load the selections up in the morning and then come back at night to summarise ... |

Some days have been just posting and watching other threads. Trying to fine tune the two systems I am focusing on. Looking back over my previous challenge - bets, staking, thought processes, what things I would do differently etc. I also did some betting - I posted up a number of lays on the Anyone Fancy a Lay thread while I also posted a couple of times on the daily profit/loss thread running on the football forum. Feel somewhat refreshed but in other ways a bit itching to get on with it again. Right now I am trying to fine-tune issues around things like: daily stop profit/loss targets, betting to win a certain % of the bank or betting to a certain % liability or a combination and to what % of the bank, recovery betting or not, filtering out getting involved in certain odds, laying in the win or place markets and how the volume changes between day and evening, greening up and ir laying .... among a few other considerations. I have started the challenge with reasonable ideas on the above but I am sure over time I will fine-tune things ... |
By:
glad we can be civil again. its for the best!! so you have written some automated software since the last challenge, like a bot, to place bets for you
|
By:
No I haven't Paulme. I am using one of the many software packages that already exist.
|
By:
two specific systems I have created
okaaay. is it gruss or geeks toy? |
By:
They are not systems they are simply software used to automatically place bets.
|
By:
Given the target is to make 1% increase per day it was nice to get off to a winning day. As you will be able to tell with some of the bets I am playing around with win and place lay bets and also setting out (in general terms) to make around 0.5% per bet.
Challenge Summary: 03/10/11 £2500 04/10/11 £2655 |

great 1st day. wd
has your horse racing/greyhorse betting completely changed cos the winning amounts seem to be very similar |
By:
Hopefully this doesn't turn into:
Staking guide: 1 to 3% liability per bet (until I lose and then 10% chase bets) GL |
By:
paulme already hijacked new thread and set about asking questions
|
By:
it's a forum doofus
|
By:
so ask on your own thread dickhead. your mate larsson started you one
|
By:
|
By:
Paulme - I don't mind answering a question every now and then - however most of the questions you ask are either self-answerable or something I have mentioned already.
I have already mentioned that I am doing more system orientated bets and secondly I have indicated in my summary of the first day that I was looking at mainly laying to win around the 0.5% (ie: 0.5% of £2500) ... ie: Most of the bets are to win a specific amount and that is why you see the same figure repeated on a number of bets .... Van-Wedged - yep I agree it all about reacting to a loss ... |
By:
i see so you picked 15 successful horse lays from 17?
and 15/17 successful dog lays? |
By:
sorry 8/9 horse
|
By:
You shouldn't react at all to a loss or a win. It's your overall performance that counts not individual results.
