Hello to anybody looking in. I've seen a few threads about regarding backing and laying on here so thought i would have a go to. I started laying teams roughly a month ago, all English teams and mostly favourites. I started with a £500 bank and the following month my bank stood at £1145.
Instead of sticking to laying teams in league's that i know, i started to try and steal money every night by backing over 1.5 goals and laying the correct score involving teams and leagues i know nothing about and inevitably lost it all in 3 bets. Gutted
I've started this thread to hopefully keep my discipline when i lose money. I laid 22 outcomes and only 1 let me down last time (the kiss of death this lol)

Agree with that one, Wolves have improved but the market is underating Spurs @6/4 , they would have been Odds On for this sort of fixture last couple of seasons

Thank you tobermory and paulme yes these were the exact bets that built my bank up before i got greedy. Im going to a charity football match soon for a friend of mine that died recently in a car crash and then there is a raffle and that at a local pub. Safe to say i will be drunk tonight. Good start yesterday with Wolves getting beat. I will do a proper review and talk about my possible lays next weekend. Another bet today, i don't often lay in other leagues than the english ones but i cannot see Palermo winning, hope this doesn't backfire. I layed for £5 by accident but shouldn't need to worry.

Week 1 - Results and Summary
After spending a bit of time on Saturday looking through the days games, i narrowed the potential games down and lays down to 6. I noticed i missed off the Stoke price (hopefully write it out better next time, lol) Luckily i didn't lay them. I did not expect Stoke to win in all honesty but the price most definitely put me off backing them. Blackpool also won at odds on so again glad i didn't lay them. The other 3 went fine. Tottenham were to much for Wolves and game me a nice bit of profit for my first bet. Today hasn't gone so well. My own fault really as i told myself i would stick to English leagues (lesson learnt) but credit to Palermo as they ran out 4-3 winners in a very entertaining game. Aueng, no worrries, smiley icon. Bingo, for what it's worth I'd strongly advise against laying teams in the early rounds of the Carling Cup until you've seen the team sheets. That may have contributed to your undoing last night as I believe Charlton made 10 team changes from their line up on Saturday.

Hello you two. Yes fully agreed i probably should of left it. I've gotten off to a bad start here but no panic.
14/09/11 Bet no.6 Lay Benfica @ 3.8 for £8 Liability £22.40 Bet no.7 Lay Villareal @ 4.2 for £5 Liability £16 United are playing a slightly weakened team but i just cannot for the life of me see Benfica winning. United have started the season on fire and haven't conceded away from home since 2010. Only a United win or Draw here. Bayern are missing Robben which is a blow but again after seeing Villareal recently just cannot see them winning. Hopefully get back on track tonight. |

Hi lads. Im going out soon, going to go and have a drink tonight (i swear Im not a drunk, lol) No bets tonight, i need to get back to English leagues where i feel safer, lol.
@ paulme - It will be ages before i get to £600, maybe not possible until i up my stakes. I earned that money by staking wildly. For instance, starting bank £500 i was often laying teams for £50 a go, so very high liability. Cannot remember exactly how many bets, i think it was 50. They are all up on the how much have you won and lost thread. In the end i would of and did lose all my bank because of my over staking. The whole purpose of this thread is keeping my discipline and playing with a similar stake each bet and if by the end of the season (and after a few hundred bets) i have a tidy profit. I will deposit say 5k for next season. I don't know how this thread will go. I do feel like i can make a nice profit laying teams although so far on this thread i haven't really proved it but its early and Im practically on the same bank i started with. If after say 300/400 bets i have a nice profit then it shows Im doing something right. Thanks for your comments and questions lads, always nice to read. I will be laying my next team on Saturday. @ paulme, hiya mate, sorry to hear your having a bad day. You never know mate Brighton are a decent side. I personally would of laid Everton over Liverpool as i think the price is far to short. Good luck. I will be rooting for you.
