if you've lost that much over 4 years, you have a large enough sample size to know that you're a losing gambler. so the more you put in, the more you will lose.

the best case scenario is you put in nothing and lose nothing.

The only thing I can offer you is not to bet above say 1 to 3% of your bank at one time and you need to (no matter how big your bank is) enjoy winning £20 as opposed to feeling as every bet has to win you £200 ... good luck and don't try and copy others do just simply do what has worked in the past for you but understand (normally it is chasing that does) what let you down .....

If you've lost 25k there really is no evidence to suggest you could even claw 1k of it back.

Another sad story though.

Whoa!... Exactly on the same boat, SIR_Bond

Started here in 01/2005, had a plus of 4.5K until summer of 2007 and then disaster. Don't know the exact figures, its around -35K here and a -6K elsewhere

Not complaining about the money to be honest, most importantly i've lost 3 years of my life. Weekend in, weekend out logged on for 12+ hours, gambling from the office till the proxy suspended the site, then rushing home. Ended up discovering poker just to fill the empty hours and days. I was playing coz i needed to, just like you smoke, eat or having coffee. Haven't been gambling on a daily basis for the last 10 months, was focused on getting my life back and when i was, i was consciously losing amounts i could afford

I'll be jobless in a 2 weeks time, things are getting tight here in Greece. I received a help from my parents few weeks ago and deposited today 1K. Was a bit hesitant regarding the amount but i think i'll treat it better than a €200 one. I'll give it another shot coz im a lot cooler now and also i know my calls aint that bad. When im laying u4.5, u2.5 on a 0-0 fixture deep in the 2nd or messing with each an every tennis match on the SB, i bleed. Definitely i ll search for a new job come September but i ll give it a serious try here.

First signs are positive. Lost the first bet couple of hours ago, €16.50, i cant recall the last time i've placed a bet of that size. I also cant recall the last time i did not jump on the next in-play market after the previous one was settled. To me it's a progress. Oh, i've also deleted from my .xls the daily 2% 1K to 1M plan sheet

At the end of the day, poverty has nothing to do with not having enough money or having lost some

You're getting some good advice here from the kind of people who now have your 25k.  Listen to it, play just for fun because you are not made of the right stuff to win.

That may not be totally true.

Sometimes it can take a loss that really means something to you to ingrain that new thought process into your mind.

That isn't an encouragement to SIR but just a thought. Some people learn best through experience. If you have never experienced the feelings a massive loss can create then some people may find it hard to bet appropriately to prevent the loss.

wish you good luck TE .Hope you can turn it around

Sir Bond , the 25k is clouding your judgement as someone remarked earlier.

Put that loss down to experience and bet small if you really have to ...scale down boy !

Don't why I said that.. I earn 20k a year Im only 27.

Bank loan could be an option. If not start with a bank of £100 and just look to build £5 a day or something.

here are the maths 25000 days  Div by 365 days in a year    you should be even in the next  68.49 years  ... you say your 27years young  add 68.49  you will have to live till your  95 years young. sounds daft  but true .. oh by the way good luck

You've put £3K down on a bet?   You, I'm afraid, are a complete idiot. If you win today, make the most of it, because you certainly won't be keeping hold of it for long.

So let's get this straight:

You want to bet stupidly and put £3K you don't have on a horse.

Supposedly as a result of the people here (presumably 1.01 Layer, who reported the thread), you're prevented from placing your bet.

The horse loses, so you've effectively been saved from losing £3K.

And yet you seem strangely resentful about this. If that was me, I think I'd be letting out a great sigh of relief at the bullet I'd missed. In fact, I might even offer to buy 1.01 Layer a drink!

Are you really that far gone that you can't see what a suicidal path you're on????
By:
SIR_Bond

I never had 3k to back it. If I did I wouldnt of anyway.
