No, Paul, you don't like the light-hearted banter on there. Very little of what you say on that thread is light-hearted. The second somebody posts up a substantial figure, you make a nasty snide little comment about their trustworthiness. You then follow up with a series of posts, not asking politely, but rudely ordering them to give you lots of answers to your questions. You then follow this up with some rant about how they're cruel because they make money when other people don't. If somebody has stood up to you, you start calling them names and taunting them.

Almost every comment you make on that thread is impugning somebody's honesty, having a go at them or belittling them and trying to make them bad about themselves. The Paulme of that topic is a truly despicable little creature. If Charles Dickens was around today and using Betfair, he'd most certainly have loved to have made you a character in one of his novels - you'd be an ugly wart-nosed little clerk, creeping around in the shadows and scheming his way to the top by trying to falsely discredit everybody around him who was of any merit, all the time claiming he himself was as pure as the freshly-fallen snow. If you honestly think what you indulge in there is light-hearted banter, you need to have a good long look at yourself fella.

What you mean the first posts you did on that thread were all begging ones and questions, questions and more questions about people's private lives ... yep you really did get into the spirit of the thread NOT !

AAGGHHHHHHHHHHHAAAGHHHH!

If it's expertly insightful, couldn't you please please, erm, draw some insights from it? The people on that thread are generally a nice bunch. They don't want much. They just want a thread that they can enjoy in peace and quiet, with nobody nagging them or telling them what to do.

Just go on there and say you want to be nice to everyone from now on, you want a truce, and you're going to try not to ask lots of questions (although if the posters drop into this thread and answer your questions here every now and again, that would be nice!).  You'll find a lot of the people there will be very quick to forgive you. Keep it up for a few days, and you may well find some of them soften to the point where they pm you a tip or two. If you carry on having a go at everybody, that thread's just going to break apart. And that would be an incredible shame for all.

Rubbish. Had a fruitless day on the UK Racing, where a couple of horses I liked bombed out. I also put a chunk of money on the line laying the 2nd favourite in the 3.25 at Wetherby. That horse honked out early on in the race, which was nice, but then the entire bloody race got voided, so I didn't make anything from it. (Why does that never happen when my lays win!?)

I've made a small bit on the US racing tonight, but I missed out on two rather striking system lays thanks to being distracted by other matters (none of them forum-related!), so I've only made a small amount rather than a substantial sum.   All in all then, not a great day!   So far...

good luck for late. how can a race be voided at end?
By:
LordBobbbin
When: 12 Oct 11 21:20
A yellow flag was waved to get the horses to stop racing (there was a sadly stricken horse on the ground) and the jockeys refused to stop. The race was completed but it was later voided by the stewards. A bit of a fiasco all told.  Quite a few penalties and suspensions dished out today. I felt a bit sorry for Miss Gemelova after being done for the silly no-whips rule.

And now Paul has reported an 'offensive' post by Coolhand (which, knowing Coolhand, was simply extremely truthful) and has got Undern's thread removed as well!  (Whether the mods are being lazy or not in removing the entire thread, it's still Paul's doing.)

Well done again Paul. Killing off two good threads through your horrible little machinations. You really are an atrocious little creature. (And stupid and an utterly incompetent bettor to boot!)
By:

Paul's not really here to bet (or learn as he has previously repeated) LordBobbin it's a facebook type thing with him. He's been getting himself in a very excited state over the last couple of days, tugging at sleeves here, there & everywhere. Take a break Paul, this is not good for your health at all and is ruining good threads for others. People like undern put effort into their threads only to see them disappear in a fit of pique by you.

Paul's just here in an attempt to make friends because he has none in the real world.  Which isn't a big surprise if he talks to people in the way that he does on here.  All a bit worrying.

Based on his general demeanour, I seriously doubt Paul can be here to make friends!   If he is, then I suggest he might have a strong case of Asperger's...

Paulme - if you want to have more of a social interaction with people why not set up your own facebook and invite people (interested in gambling like yourself) to join in. Put up some links back to Betfair and I am sure people will join ....

LordB
I thought id use this thread which looks doomed now and try turn it into a good place to visit, i wont be posting regularly about selections, but think it could be a good place to come and air views and opinions on the odd race now and then.  Anyway;

Im interested to hear if you have any views on the Group 1 Neartic Stakes (Woodbine 7.59 Sunday), I was looking about a month ago to see if Bated Breath was running in the Prix de l'Abbaye on Arc day, i was surprised to see him not head across seeing as the ground looked to be ideal, Roger Charlton has a terrific record in the race, and it didnt look the strongest of renewals (i also would have loved to see him in the flesh).  He wasnt entered so figured he would be heading for the big sprint, Champions Sprint Stakes, at Ascot today, but again he isnt lining up, instead he heads across the pond for this race.  He is a horse i have followed, and believe his form is rock solid, especially behind Dream Ahead, who despite being a bit of a monkey, is a very talented one and did me a favour at Longchamp (Blush), and think it could be an ideal opportunity to win a Group 1 for Bated Breath, as well as the prize money, which is greater than both the Abbaye and the Champion Sprint (not that the Prince needs it Laugh).

Bated Breath is priced up at 5/2 (VC) and his main rival appears to be [b]Right One[b] who is dropping back from 1m, which i think is a tough ask against a horse with very solid Group 1 form over 6f.  Im confident he has the beating of the other British runners, but im not familiar with US and Canadian racing so are there any other dangers (Regally Ready looks interesting), and also if there are concerns about the draw at Woodbine, Bated Breath is drawn 11 of 13.  I will also be keeping an eye on the weather, at the moment the ground is reportedly firm but there is apparently rain forecast which wouldnt be ideal (even though he has solid form on soft).  If you have any views they would be much appreciated, if you havent looked and dont have the time, not to worry.

All the best,
Coolhand Cool

Funny reading RP site, which has Woodbine down as Firm, but just read Roger Charltons twitter
After heavy over night rain the ground at Woodbine was soft on the turf this morning when Bated Breath and Sea Of Heartbreak cantered..blow 2 days ago
and
Bated Breath and Sea Of Heartbreak worked on the turf at Woodbine today going very soft after more rain, and confirmed 4 Sunday yesterday

Ground going against Bated Breath, although still think he has a cracking chance, and i can see now why Right One is 4/1, he has form on heavy ground albeit at a lower level, but he looks to have improved massively this year.

Bated Breath ran a good race in defeat, the winner (Regally Ready) had an easy lead and won the race from the front setting steady pace with Bated Breath just failing to get up, racing on ground that he didnt enjoy according to Roger Charlton, and having to go quite wide, he deserves a Group race, and apparently going to go to Hong Kong in search of it.
