agreed. just my 1st match was a disaster. needs more chance and take the risk of not insuring 0-0 i guess Bobbin

Well the insurance was a foolish move given that the profit was likely to be small to begin with.  I wouldn't put any significant sums of money behind that system unless you're confident that it works, though, Paul. A liability of £240 was crazy.   You need to have at least some statistical reasons for thinking those teams will have goals between them.

well your potential green up profit to 0-0 liability is always gonna be about 10-1 i calculate

9-1 to 10-1 sounds about right, yeah.

Well maybe that's your problem.  How did you pick them????   Was it pinning a tail on a donkey again?

no i fancied the chinese girl to win. and the market agreed. she lost.

i fancied the outsider here to beat lubijic. he's 1 set down, he's gonna lose...

I can see the logic in your Sijsling bet. But you are going to need to be a little more selective. You do too many throw-it-up-in-the-air bets.

its a loser. gonna back firdaws to place in the 3pm as that is a great horse from its maiden. if it places i'll just be the £70 down for the day Cry

Looks pretty open that maiden. I guess you've got a decent chance. Not sure you're getting value though...   But good luck!

ok LB you're not gonna like this. my nerves are shot but here goes today's mad betting... will make anyone shake just reading it.

backed Zheng (tennis)      -28   LOST
backed Sijsling (tennis)   -50
backed Firdaws to place    +10   WON
backed Seppi (tennis)      -200  LOST
backed Gasquet (tennis)    -200  LOST

so at this stage i'd picked 4 tennis losers in a row. takes some doing.

mad chase bet coming up...

backed Facundo Mena (tennis) +492 WON

Plain

so after all that £24. im off for a beer. good night

This is going to sound harsh, and i expect some childish reply but ill have another go at helping you;

You are not unlucky, you are lazy.  Stop betting on tonights events and start researching the games tomorrow, read squad sheets, find interviews with players and managers, watch any highlights of recent form, do some homework and make your own luck.

Paul, if you're planning on placing a bet on the Tennis, ask my advice and I'll give you my explanation on whether or not backing that Tennis player is a good idea, Tennis is what I do best.

Zealot, don't say well done to him for that. His method is utterly kamikaze. If you double up several times, you get away with it for the most part. But there'll come a time when you don't get away with it. Had that last bet not gone in, he would have been absolutely stuffed.  At some point in the future he will get hit by a seemingly unforeseeable run of bad luck, and when he does, he'll lose very big. He doesn't do any research into his bets, so he's unlikely to get better at picking winning bets. And he's not really making anything other than a tiny profit even given the ridiculous strategy he's employing, so he'll have little room for error when his big hit does come.

Paul, you ask for a better approach?  If you're not prepared to work to come up with your selections then the better approach would be to quit now. There's absolutely no point in going on with a strategy that can only end in you losing big.  If you're taking these huge risks and are still only slightly up over the last 7-8 weeks then your strategy has *no* chance of long-term success. Even when the banks were doing stupid gambling with our money for many years, many of them were making good money until it all blew up in their faces.

Undern thinks he can't make it pay and has chosen to walk away. And I'd say he had rather more to work with (particularly that greyhounds strategy..). Maybe you should take a leaf out of your idol's book and call it a day?   Or at the very least stop posting on the forum and spend your time learning about form instead.           I don't want to see you come a major cropper Paul, but I am worried about you. Please don't keep up with this.
