Good stuff!  I'm now break-even on Benfica winning and up on the other two results. Hopefully Man U can get another goal and make my win fairly safe!

He does know what he's talking about.  You should have backed Man U if you thought they had a better chance of winning than the odds you backed them at gave them.  Yet again you dismiss sound advice and ramble on about your bad luck.  Do you understand the point dlarssonf was making?

Thanks Paul. Still a possibility for your win at this point. I expected United to bring on Ando and Hernandez with about 25-30 minutes to go and have a real shot at an equaliser, so that early Giggs goal is a nice surprise.

Rob, when did he mention bad luck with regards to today's match?

paulme

see how bad i am at betting LB Cry

Perhaps bad luck was the wrong phrase.  But still no logical reasoning for the bets, despite saying more research will be put into them.  What research did you put into these bets, Paul?  Not having a pop, genuinely interested.

looked at some form for both teams. reckoned AF would want a winning start in the trohpy

so read around on that on the web

what research did you do on your soccer bets and novak the other night?

Man U tend not to be too bothered about winning their away matches in the Champions League group stage. That's not to say they can't go on to win now, and they obviously wouldn't turn down a win. However, the team that was sent out there was not one that cried out 'we need to win here'. I'd suggest Chelsea at the weekend is a much bigger point of focus. And there's also the fact that they've temporarily lost two of their early season wonders, Cleverly and Welbeck...

Cleverley, sorry.  (Getting him mixed up with Nathan there...)

No, good save by Man U man (Lindegaard). That was almost 2-1 to Benfica, which would have been lights out for your bet and slightly disappointing for mine.   This match could still go any way...

You often get some silly prices in-play. Benfica were 1.74 to win this match after their goal. Given you had around three quarters of the match to play, Man U really wouldn't want to lose and had some decent attacking players to bring on, 1.74 was a bit of a silly price and very layable.   Taking on bets like that is the way to build your bank.

what was your bet ocean? im pee'd off
By:

When: 14 Sep 11 21:43
Ocean's advice to you on the 'Everywon one' was good - choose one team and get to know them inside out. Know which games they'll really be gunning for, and which they won't be so bothered about. Know what their best team is, and when they're setting out a team just to get a draw.  Try and take one thing and get to know it better than the other people who make up the Betfair market. That way you'll have an idea when false prices are being offered.
